So, if you’re looking for a tool that has all these features, which do you choose? ClickFunnels vs Kajabi can be a close call, but you will want to pick one over depending on the specifics of your business.

I’ve used ClickFunnels myself for quite a long time, and while I do think it’s a great tool, it definitely does lack in some key areas. It can also get quite expensive, which is why I have started looking into alternatives like Kajabi.

So, here I’m going to dive into the details and let you know exactly how Kajabi compares.

Since Russell Brunson founded it in 2014, it has seen tremendous growth and has become extremely popular in the internet marketing community.

Not only does it offer a robust platform with lots of revenue-generating features, but it also has a strong community and helpful educational material.

One of the reasons why so many customers love it is because it comes with everything you need to build high-converting sales funnels quickly and easily.

What Is Kajabi?

Kajabi has been around a little longer than ClickFunnels as it was founded in 2010. Since then it has helped over 40,000 infopreneurs serve 60 million students – generating over $2 billion in sales.

Kajabi has always been known to be a go-to membership site builder for many entrepreneurs. However, in recent years it has expanded its set of features to offer pretty much everything you need to market your products too.

I’ll dive into these in more detail later in this article.

  • Free video hosting via Wistia
  • Decent set of marketing tools and lets you host pre-recorded webinars

Kajabi Cons

  • The landing page builder is not as advanced as that of ClickFunnels
  • Most of the plans don’t allow you to host many sites/custom domains (only one on the Basic and Growth plans, 3 on the Pro plan)
  • If you want all the features it can get quite expensive
  • It doesn’t have as much split-testing functionality

ClickFunnels Features

Now that we have looked at both platforms, I wanted to dive deeper into their features. Let’s look at ClickFunnels first and then see how Kajabi compares.

ClickFunnels’ Core Offering: The Funnel Builder

ClickFunnels’ core offering is the funnel builder, as it lets you quickly build pretty much any type of sales funnel you can think of.

You name it, ClickFunnels can build it:

  • Webinar funnels
  • Membership funnels
  • Upsell funnels
  • Two-step cart funnel funnels
  • eCommerce funnels
  • Book funnels
  • Affiliate funnels
  • And much more

The funnel builder is drag and drop, and is very easy to use. This is also what ClickFunnels is known for because it was pretty much one of the first SaaS tools that made this process so easy.

ClickFunnels Membership Site Builder

Although the membership site builder is part of the page builder, I did want to discuss it in more detail, as this is one feature in particular that we can compare directly with Kajabi.

Overall, it’s not as advanced as Kajabi’s membership site builder, but it is pretty good. Here are a few important things you can do with ClickFunnels membership sites:

  • Drip-feed your content
  • Automated membership management (although less than dedicated platforms) 
  • Locked posts
  • Multiple access levels

However, where it lacks compared to the Kajabi membership site builder is the customization, analytics, and engagement tools. Most dedicated platforms let you design your membership site in much more detail, and give you many options for branding.

ClickFunnels’ on the other hand, lacks a little in this area.

When it comes to the engagement tools, it doesn’t have any.

You can’t poll your students, ask them to complete surveys, or do any tests. Besides, you don’t get a lot of analytics, and it’s mostly just how many students have signed up to the membership site.

Another major drawback of using ClickFunnels for your membership site is that there is also no video hosting. This means you’d also have to pay for a 3rd party service like Wistia or Vimeo to host your videos, and then embed them into your membership site.


ClickFunnels comes with everything you need to create high-converting checkouts:

  • 2-step checkouts
  • One-click upsells and downsells
  • Order bumps

This is something that many other ClickFunnels (including myself) love about the platform, as it’s so easy to set up. And it helps you make the most out of your conversions.

Email Marketing – Follow-Up Funnels

ClickFunnels comes with an email autoresponder tool known as ‘Follow-Up Funnels.’

Follow-Up Funnels has some pretty standard automation sequences, but it’s nice that ClickFunnels has this useful feature built-in, so you don’t necessarily need a dedicated tool.

However, if you’re planning to use this feature then bear in mind that you will need to upgrade to the ClickFunnels Platinum plan, which will set you back $297 per month.

Alternatively, if you were sold on ClickFunnels, but you didn’t want to pay this much for it then you could also just go for the Standard plan at $97 per month and use GetResponse for your email automations, which starts at just $15 per month.

ClickFunnels Webinars

ClickFunnels lets you host both live and pre-recorded webinars. The only downside is that you also need to use a 3rd party webinar tool like Zoom or GoToMeeting.

Basically, it gives you the ability to create a webinar funnel and then run the event from your ClickFunnels dashboard.

This feature is decent, as it’s also easy to integrate with the follow-up funnels, or any other email autoresponder of your choice. However, ClickFunnels webinars do lack some advanced features like engagement tools.


FunnelFlix is ClickFunnels’ answer to Netflix, but for marketers and business owners.

The owner of ClickFunnels, Russell Brunson is known for is educational courses in the digital marketing space. While they’re very good, a lot of them a very expensive.

However, if you’re a ClickFunnels user then you get access to these courses for free in the FunnelFlix area.

FunnelFlix doesn’t only have Russell’s courses. You can also find a ton of courses by some of the most successful and influential people and businesses in entrepreneurship, including Tony Robbins, Jay Abraham, John Reese, Agora, and more.

Affiliate Management Tool

ClickFunnels comes with built-in affiliate management too. However, it’s also quite basic compared to a dedicated tool. It only lets you create per sale affiliate programs, and the tracking is not the best either.

The analytics are quite basic. For instance, you only get to see how much product an affiliate has sold, and their total commissions earned, and who they have referred. But overall, it’s also nice to have this feature built-in if you don’t need it to be more advanced than this.

What ClickFunnels Has That Kajabi Does Not Have

To give you a better overview of what benefits ClickFunnels has, I wanted to explain what Kajabi doesn’t have.

A Better Funnel Builder and More Funnel Templates

ClickFunnels’ funnel and page builder is easier to use and allows you to build a wider variety of funnels. This is expected as its ClickFunnels’ core offering, but it does have to be said.

Besides, it also comes with a lot more types of funnel templates like trip-wire funnels, webinar funnels, and so forth.

If you want to build more complex but comprehensive funnels with lots of steps – it may be worth going for ClickFunnels over Kajabi because it’ll better equip you to do so.

More Educational Material

Another big advantage of going for ClickFunnels is all of the educational material you get access to, at least on the Platinum plan.

You’ll have access to FunnelFlix on either plan you choose, but you get access to many more courses on the Platinum plan. This includes a large library of educational material, and Funnel Hack-A-Thons, which are live group coaching calls every Friday.

Kajabi does have some training, but it’s not quite as much as what ClickFunnels offers.

Bigger Community

ClickFunnels has a bigger community behind it, which is always an advantage for networking purposes. The ClickFunnels Facebook group has a whopping 200k+ members, and there are also seemingly endless users in other groups and social media platforms like Twitter, Instagram, etc.

Kajabi Features

Now that we have taken a look at ClickFunnels’ features, let’s look at how Kajabi compares.

Kajabi’s Core Offering: Membership Sites

Kajabi was originally only a membership site builder, and that’s still its core offering. Most of the people who use Kajabi (if not all) use it for its membership site builder.

ClickFunnels lacked in the following features:

  • Engagement tools
  • Analytics
  • Video hosting

Plus, the customization was not great either. If we compare how Kajabi’s membership sites look, you’ll see how much of a difference there is in branding possibilities.

Besides, Kajabi also gives you much better insights into your students, and you’ll be able to see which videos engage them and which don’t.

The platform also has great engagement tools like tests, surveys, and polls that you can use for your membership sites. Plus, you can even host a community inside a member’s area, making it almost like your own social media platform or forum.

And to add to this, your students can access your membership site via the Kajabi mobile app, which I’ll fill you in on soon in this article.

Video Hosting

With Kajabi, you’ll have access to unlimited video hosting via Wistia. This is a big deal if you want to build a membership site because it means that you won’t have to pay more money to a 3rd party video host, unlike if you were using ClickFunnels.

Kajabi have partnered with Wistia to make this happen. If you’ve not heard of them before then Wistea are one of the best video hosting companies on the market.

Additionally, Wistia doesn’t only let you host your videos, but also gives you detailed analytics on your audiences engagement, and allows you to add CTAs or headlines to your videos.


Similar to ClickFunnels, Kajabi also offers webinars. With Kajabi you can host both live and pre-recorded webinars, which can be very useful when scaling your high-ticket sales.

Landing Page Builder

The landing and page builder is not quite as advanced as ClickFunnels’ funnel builder, but it’s okay.

With the Kajabi builder you can create basic landing and sales pages for your business. However, ClickFunnels offers a lot more templates and advanced options here.

Similar to ClickFunnels, you can also use order bumps, one-click upsells, and downsells, which are all great tools for increasing the value of a customer.

The page builder is not too far from what ClickFunnels offers, but at the same time, Kajabi doesn’t let you build as many types of funnels as it’s a bit more basic.


Kajabi also has a blogging feature, which you can use to promote your membership sites. However, I wouldn’t really recommend using the Kajabi blogging feature if your intention is to build an optimized blog that ranks well in Google.

Don’t get me wrong, the Kajabi blog feature is great to use for building engagement with your audience, and perhaps also as a tool to let them know about upcoming events and the latest news. But if a blog is gonna be one of the core parts of your business then it’s just not going to have the capability of a WordPress blog.

With a WordPress blog you’ll have access to a huge range of tools that can help you to increase conversions, improve ranking, page load speed and more. Besides, if you have built a self-hosted WordPress blog then this is also a sellable asset if you do decide you want to sell your business at any point.

However, if you just want to use the blog to offer some value to your existing customers without necessarily focusing on ranking in search engines, this feature could be useful.

Email Marketing

Kajabi also lets you send email newsletters and build automation sequences. However, ClickFunnels’ email list segmentation is superior to that of Kajabi’s.

Besides this minor difference, their email marketing tools are very similar, as they both offer templates and similar features.

Visual Sales Pipeline Builder

One of the most unique things about Kajabi is its visual sales pipeline builder. In Kajabi, you can use this feature to visualize your entire sales funnel/pipeline and make easy edits from there.

This feature can help you plan, structure, and edit your campaigns easily.

Kajabi Mobile App

Kajabi also has a cool mobile app, which allows your customers to access any Kajabi membership site from their mobile phone.

This is super-useful for people since they will be able to login to your member’s area and watch your content even on the go.

Finally, Kajabi also has an affiliate management tool that is quite similar to the one in ClickFunnels. They both let you create per sale affiliate programs, and come with basic tracking functionality.

However, they lack the more advanced features that some other platforms have. It’s a tie here.

What Kajabi Has That ClickFunnels Does Not Have

Better Membership Site Builder

Just like ClickFunnels’ core offering is its funnel builder, Kajabi’s is its membership site builder.

With Kajabi, you’ll have more customization, engagement features, and better analytics giving you more insights and control over your site.

Besides this, Kajabi’s membership sites also look better, in my opinion.

Wistia Unlimited Video Hosting

One of the biggest benefits of Kajabi is that it offers unlimited video hosting.

All your videos for your sales pages, membership sites, etc., have to be hosted somewhere, and Kajabi has that built-in. Because video’s take up a lot of bandwidth, purchasing video hosting separately can cost $99+ per month.

Mobile App

Another feature that Kajabi has that ClickFunnels does not have is the mobile app. If you’re using Kajabi then your customers will benefit from being able to access your content from their mobile phone wherever they are. And you benefit from this app because you will have more chances to engage with your audience.

Now that we have taken a look at all the features that both ClickFunnels and Kajabi have to offer, let’s look at how they compare when it comes to pricing.

If you run an online business, then the chances are you’ll need some kind of shopping cart or landing page creator.

Having the right platform for your business can help you to grow your audience amd make a lot more sales.

Today’s comparison between ThriveCart vs SamCart will look at two platforms that promise to do exactly that.

ThriveCart is a SaaS tool that launched on 1st February 2016. The platform allows you to easily create shopping carts that you can use to sell your products. It promises to increase conversions and backs this with its own money-back guarantee.

Besides merely having the usual shopping cart features that you’d expect, ThriveCart also has some extra innovative features, too. One of these is the ability to embed your carts anywhere on other platforms, which I thought was pretty cool.

For example, if you have a WordPress blog then you can create a shopping cart using thriveCart and then embed it into a page on your blog. That’s pretty useful!

As the product is still in the early stages, it has some pretty sweet lifetime deals available. But I’ll run you through those a little later on.

What Is SamCart

SamCart is a little more known than ThriveCart because it has been around longer. SamCart was co-founded by brothers, Brian and Scott Moran in 2014. Since then SamCart has become an industry leader in the shopping cart market, and for good reason.

It’s one of the most known shopping cart SaaS tools, and its users love it, especially for its ease of use. SamCart offers similar features to ThriveCart, but with a few key differences.

Since it’s been around longer and is fully established, SamCart does not offer a lifetime deal. Fortunately, the monthly pricing for SamCart is reasonable compared to its competitors.

If SamCart can significantly impact your conversions, then the price is still more than worth it. But, let’s look at SamCart’s features first before we get into the pricing. If you can’t wait then feel free to skip ahead to the pricing section, below.

Now you’ve got a good overview of the two platforms, let’s look at the features they have to offer and see how they compare.

Checkout Builder

The ThriveCart checkout builder has everything you need to create a high-converting offer. It’s straightforward to use, and you can create virtually any type of offer with it.

1-Click Order Bump

The first feature is a vital one for increasing conversions. The order bump will help you make more money from each visitor because it has the potential to increase your customer’s cart value.

In case you don’t know what it is, an order bump a last minute, impulse offer that you can put in front of your customers at the checkout. The order bump shows up as a little checkbox right on the checkout page that your customer can tick to add to their cart.


As you can imagine, this can be highly effective, especially when your order bump compliments the original purchase.

Funnel Builder With 1-Click Upsells & Downsells (Post-purchase)

ThriveCart comes with a basic funnel builder that will let you create a page for your checkouts, complete with an upsell, dowensell, and thank you page.

The upsell and downsell pages also help to increase the value of a customer. It does this by presenting the customer with a separate page with an additional offer that they can purchase with one click. This is possible because the customer’s payment information is already saved from the first purchase.

Pretty clever, right?!

The reason this is effective is that once they make the decision, they’ve instantly purchased the offer. This gives them less time to doubt their buying choice while entering their credit card information for a second time.

2 Step Carts

Another feature in ThriveCart that I really like is the 2-step carts. This is basically a checkout where the customer enters their information before the payment for some type of incentive, such as an exclusive deal.

The advantage of this feature is that you can still follow up with the customer, even if they don’t like the deal.

And ultimately, this will lead to more sales because you can recoup some abandoned carts. With the average abandoned cart rates ranging from 68.81% to 74.5%, it’s really important that you have features like this in place.


ThriveCart lets you split-test all of your carts and funnels. This, combined with the comprehensive analytics, which we’ll talk about in a moment, will give you everything you need to create the highest converting checkout experience possible.

Embed Your Carts Anywhere

This is a ThriveCart that I really like, as it allows you to embed your shopping pretty much anywhere (providing you can paste the code).

So, if you want to display your carts on another page builder or website platform like Wix or WordPress, then you can embed the checkouts over on those platforms.

That’s pretty cool as it means you won’t be locked into the platform, and you can combine the power of ThriveCart with other tools.

Affiliate Center

ThriveCart also has an affiliate center built-in, meaning you can recruit and manage affiliates from your ThriveCart dashboard. I was very impressed with this feature, as it’s more advanced than most other options on the market. Having said that, it’s not surprising that I have come across a lot of companies who are using ThriveCart for their affiliate program.

The ThriveCart affiliate center has all the basics such as, allowing you to create various affiliate programs, setting up custom commissions, hosting affiliate tools, running competitions, etc.

But what I was impressed by was the ability to set up custom bonus pages for your top affiliates, which will help them make more sales. And if they make more sales, you do too.

Intelligent Behavior & Automation Rules

Another area where ThriveCart sets itself apart from many other cart platforms is its intelligent automation features. For example, you can automatically follow up on abandoned carts, or you can chase subscribers that haven’t been paid.

Plus, you can also modify your affiliates’ commission rates based on their refunds or sales. For example, if some affiliates have high refund rates, you could decrease their commission rates. Or, if they made lots of sales, you could increase it.


Everyone knows how effective subscription-based business models are. The problem is that many platforms don’t allow you to set up monthly billing, or it’s very confusing, at least.

ThriveCart gives you everything you need to set up subscription billing, and it’s also straightforward to implement.

Plus, as already mentioned, you can set up free or paid trials and automatically chase customers for subscriptions that haven’t been paid, thanks to the dunning feature.

Intelligent Business Insights

Finally, ThriveCart comes with intelligent business insights such as analytics, projected sales, and more. Again, this is something that I was very impressed with, as the insights you get are detailed and advanced.

For example, it calculates lifetime value automatically, and you can also see your live traffic, conversions, or projected sales. Besides, you can also add 3rd party tracking codes like Google analytics.

What ThriveCart Has That SamCart Doesn’t Have

Despite ThriveCart being a lot more affordable than other options on the market, it does have some great features that SamCart doesn’t have. These are the features I mean:

2-Step Carts

SamCart doesn’t have this feature, and it would probably be quite hard to get it. If you think 2-step carts will be a key part of your strategy, it may be worth going for ThriveCart.

Embeddable Carts

Again, SamCart does not let you embed your shopping carts. This means the ThriveCart checkouts you create won’t be locked inside the platform. But, with SamCart, if you ever wanted to use the cart anywhere else, you would be locked into it.

Bonuses for Affiliates

Of course, your affiliates can always manually offer bonuses, but it’s not quite the same as having dedicated pages and bonus delivery options that they can use.

SamCart has a feature they call the sales page design. This is basically their page builder, and will let you build funnels similar to ThriveCart.

Here’s what SamCarts sales page builder comes with:

In terms of features, it’s very similar to ThriveCart’s checkout builder. However, SamCart doesn’t have the 2-step carts feature that ThriveCart offers. On the other hand, ThriveCart doesn’t have the localization feature offered by SamCart, so you’ll need to weigh up here which feature is more important to you.

In my opinion, SamCart is a little easier to use, and it also has a larger selection of templates to work with. I also found that the templates look more modern than those on the ThriveCart platform.

Templates aren’t necessarily a deal-breaker because you can always create them yourself. But using them does make your work a hell of a lot quicker, easier, and more enjoyable, in my opinion.

However, the difference between the templates on both platforms is quite significant. SamCart even offers industry-specific templates, which is super-helpful, while ThriveCart only has around 10 standard templates in total.

But apart from those few differences, this feature is very similar to ThriveCart’s builder.

Revenue Optimization

Again, this next section of features is very similar to ThriveCart’s. Here’s what you get:

As we saw earlier, ThriveCart has most of these features too. The only one which is unique to SamCart is the ability to add products post-purchase.

Cart Abandonment

SamCart gives you everything you need to chase after abandoned carts. To do this, you can simply integrate with email marketing software to send a follow-up and try to make the sale. This, in combination with discounts and emails, is very effective.


SamCart also has everything you need to set up subscription billing. And again, you can be very flexible with it, as you can create a range of payment types, free trials, etc.

You can also automatically chase after unpaid subscriptions using the dunning feature, which will keep billing the customer until the payment goes through. Again, this is pretty much identical to what ThriveCart offers.

Payment Options

SamCart gives you a lot of payment options to create almost any type of offer.

SamCart has pretty much everything you need for core commerce. It comes with basic support for GDPR, Taxes, and Vat; however, ThriveCarts sales tax collection is a little more automated.

What SamCart Has That ThriveCart Does Not Have

SamCart has some great features that ThriveCart doesn’t have. Below, I explain them in more detail.

More Templates

One of the main incentives to go for SamCart over ThriveCart is the templates offered. They look more modern, and there’s a lot more of them.

With ThriveCart, you can build your own sales page, but you don’t have the amount of flexibility other page builders give you. And the templates look a little outdated.

Add To Order (Post Purchase)

SamCart has a feature that lets users add to their order post-purchase. This is possible with ThriveCart too, but it’s not as smooth as it is with SamCart, so it’s worth mentioning here.

Better Interface

The interface inside of SamCart just looks better than ThriveCart’s, in my opinion. This, alongside the templates, is the only complaint I have heard about ThriveCart.

But SamCart is superior in this aspect, and it’s something that they have put a lot of effort into.

Free Trial

With ThriveCart, you won’t be able to test out the platform before purchasing it, which is a bit of a drag. That being said, ThriveCart does have a 30-day money-back guarantee so that you could purchase it, and if you don’t like it, you can get a refund.

SamCart, on the other hand, offers a generous 30-day free trial, which is nice. When you compare this to most other competitors on the market, you will find that the majority of them only offer a 14-day trial, some of which are not even free!

Final Thoughts – ThriveCart vs SamCart – Which is Best?

Overall, this has been a very close battle between ThriveCart vs SamCart. I think from a value point of view, ThriveCart may be ahead because of its affordability.

If you’re on a tight budget and price is one of your main concerns, then go for ThriveCart.And it also has some great features that SamCart doesn’t have.

However, SamCart’s modern templates, post-payment feature, and easy-to-use dashboard may be worth the additional cost to you.

As I continue my GrooveSell review, I will now tell you about the different features you will find inside the 2 dashboards it comes with.

Product Funnels

To sell anything using GrooveSell, you first need to set up a product funnel. It’s easy to do and there is an 11-step set-up wizard inside your account that walks you through the funnel builder.

You can add as many or as few steps as you like inside your sales funnel using the page builder.

As you can see in the screenshot above, here is the place where you will set up your landing page, order form, checkout page, upsell and downsell pages, and order bumps.

GrooveSell also provides shopping cart software for you to set up a professional shopping experience for your customers.

Affiliate Management

This is the area where you can create an affiliate program for your products and upload assets and tools for your affiliates to use.

Amazingly, this affiliate software feature is completely free!

To put this into perspective, if you’re using ClickFunnels to manage your affiliate program then you will need to upgrade to the Platinum account and pay $297 per month.

When it comes to Kartra’s prices, the cheapest you can run an affiliate program for is $99 per month.

GrooveSell provides you with a decent amount of reporting info on your affiliates. You can monitor things like:

  • Name of affiliate
  • Which products they are promoting
  • Number of impressions and clicks they are sending
  • Earned and pending commissions
  • Their payment history info

This section is where you can see all your customers listed along with any info you have collected on them, such as their name, email address, phone number, etc.


This is the analytics section of your GrooveSell vendor account.

In this section you will be able to monitor all your customers’ transaction history, including successful and failed transactions, which products they purchased, on which dates, etc.

You can also download your customer info in a CSV file, which is useful for a number of reasons.

In the ‘Tools” section you can create coupons and tracking links, and also create your checkout forms.

I was really impressed with the level of tracking that you can do with GrooveSell, as it’s much more detailed than most other platforms I’ve used before.

You can really dial down on conversion goals so you can see not only where your sales are coming from, but what actions the person took inside your funnel.

The “Marketplace” is a new addition to the Vendor dashboard. It gives you access to tons of affiliate programs of other GrooveFunnels users.

Why is this helpful?

You can check the affiliate marketplace to see if there are any products that are relevant to your niche that your audience may also be interested in.

You can then choose to promote them alongside your own products in your funnel by offering them as an upsell of downsell to your own product, if you do not yet have your own upsell products created.

This can help you to earn more money in your funnel by also promoting other people’s products alongside your own.

Affiliate marketplace

GrooveSell Affiliate Dashboard Features

Now let’s take a closer look at the GrooveSell affiliate dashboard.

If you do affiliate marketing then this is the dashboard you use if you are promoting GrooveFunnels, or any other product that is found on the Groove marketplace.

Some of the sections of the affiliate dashboard are either the same as the vendor’s dashboard, or they look the same. I’ve included screenshots of the ones that are different, below.

Affiliate & Home Icons

These two icons are basically the same thing, and bring you to the main affiliate dashboard area.

When you first login to this dashboard, this is the page you will land on.

The promos area lists your active promotions and gives you a snapshot of how many impressions and visitors you have sent to different offers, as well as the number of sign ups and conversions.

The snapshot will show your total affiliate commissions earned for each promotion to date.



When I first had a look around this dashboard I was very impressed to see that it also has a ‘my bonuses’ section.

This is where you can upload your own bonuses that you might be using to offer as an incentive for people signing up through your link. Once in the system, you can set it up to auto-deliver your bonuses upon signup or conversion, which is pretty sweet.


The reporting section houses detailed info on your affiliate activity. Besides giving more detailed info on impressions and unique visits by date, it also lists every person you has either signed up for a free trial, or made a purchase through your link.

You can see info such as, the person’s name, the date they signed up, if they have successfully made a purchase, how much commission you received, if you have someone on your tier-two who may also benefit from the sale, etc.

The ‘tools’ icon brings you directly to the place where you can set up unique tracking ID’s. Using this feature allows you to monitor exactly how successful your campaigns are, and what you should be putting most effort into.


The Marketplace is where you can find other products to promote that may go along well with your current offerings.

The affiliate marketplace is organised by niche, so you can browse to find suitable products that your audience might like.

If you have made your own products then you can also list your sales page for them here for other affiliates to promote for you.

GrooveSell Pricing

As I have already mentioned, GrooveSell is free!

We’re not sure how long it will be free for, but at the moment you can get the free lifetime deal account with no monthly fees, which includes GrooveSell, GroovePages and GrooveAffiliate.

GrooveSell Alternatives

GrooveSell is one of the latest alternatives to other platforms like SamCart and ThriveCart.

On the free plan, you can use GrooveSell, GroovePages and GrooveAffiliate, which is a powerful combination. In fact, this combo can give other alternative platforms a run for their money, including the industry leader, ClickFunnels.

When you consider all the additional apps and features you get when you upgrade to the GrooveFunnels Platinum marketing suite, other alternative platforms just can’t offer as much value for money.

This also goes for Kartra, which is the closest alternative to GrooveFunnels by way of feature offerings.

Having said that, GrooveSell and GrooveFunnels are by no means perfect. It only launched in 2020, so there are still some bugs to iron out. Most features are live, but a few are still in beta as the Groove Digital team are working around the clock to get them all fully operational.

If you can’t wait and you need to get started right now with a completely rolled out system that has a feature list comparable to GrooveFunnels, then my recommended alternative option is Kartra. However, Kartra does not have a free account.

My GrooveFunnels Review

In the world of funnel builders, GrooveFunnels is the new kid on the block.

Promising to be an all-in-one business and marketing suite capable of handling the work-load of any online business, GrooveFunnels has set itself a lot to live up to.

Fortunately, there is an impressive team of well-known and highly successful marketers and entrepreneurs behind the platform, led by the CEO, Mike Filsame.

If you haven’t heard of Mike, he’s the guy behind other massively successful software brands, including, WebinarJam, EverWebinar and Kartra.

If Mike and his team can make GrooveFunnels as good or better than the above mentioned brands, then Groove is set to be one of the new market leaders.

Before we dive into it, I wanted to share a few key points that are important to look for before you buy a funnel builder.

Even if networking isn’t something you’re interested in, it wouldn’t hurt having a group of fellow users available to you.

Lastly, you also want to look at the pricing. Sales funnel builders can be costly, so make sure to choose one that is in your budget.

That being said, the price shouldn’t be your primary concern. If you’ve chosen a good sales funnel builder then the features should help you generate more revenue. If this is the case, then there isn’t any reason not to pay a little more compared to some cheaper alternatives.

What Is GrooveFunnels?

GrooveFunnels is a relatively new funnel builder that is still evolving, but it is doing so at an incredibly fast rate.

Just like some of its competitors, GrooveFunnels aims to be an all-in-one marketing platform. Groove does this by taking a range of different SaaS tools that most businesses need, and combining them into one, convenient dashboard.

This is quite similar to the promise that ClickFunnels makes, but as you’ll see later on, GrooveFunnels has considerably more features.

What’s also intriguing about GrooveFunnels that most of the other sales funnel builders do not have, is a free plan.

Most of Groove’s competitors, including ClickFunnels, start their pricing around $97 per month.

Having a free plan is a great way for beginners to start using the software. It also gives people the chance to try it out to the point where they can actually get results with it, and not be limited by a trial period deadline.

I think this is one of the main reasons why GrooveFunnels has become the fastest-growing funnel building platform.

If you want to put this in perspective, Groove opened the doors on their Beta version in April 2020. In just 6 months they already have over 75,000 members, and they are officially due to launch in October 2020.

This is even more impressive when you realize that one of the market leaders, ClickFunnels, first launched in 2014, and they now currently have around 120,000 users.

As you can see from the above list, GrooveFunnels completely raises the standard in terms of features offered.

Before we take a closer look at the features, I would like to point out that not all of the features are currently available. Some are due to go live later on in 2020.

Everything else is already available inside of the platform now.

When I first heard that there are still a few features that are not yet live, and looking at the impressive list of features that they already have, I did have concerns if these additional apps would actually go live at all.

However, considering the people who are behind the software, I do have confidence that they will live up to their promises, and will actually be able to deliver. Afterall, these guys have proven track records for creating successful software products, and, of course, their reputations are also on the line!

Mike Filsaime was behind Kartra, WebinarJam, and EverWebinar which are also great platforms that have brought people a lot of success in their businesses.

Anyways, let’s now take a closer look at each of the features.


GroovePages Templates

The first core feature is GroovePages, which is the page builder application.

When you first get inside GroovePages, one of the first things you will notice is that it comes with a variety of good-looking templates that you can use.

After a little play around, I was pleased to see that you can easily customize these templates through your drag and drop editor.

GroovePages and Page Load Speed

Something I particularly like about landing pages built with Groove is that they actually load pretty quickly. This is because they are uploaded to the web as an HTML file.

For this reason, the pages you create will load faster than if you were using other platforms like Kartra or ClickFunnels. 

This feature alone can actually make a big difference for your business for two reasons.

Firstly, if your pages load fast then your potential customers will not get frustrated waiting for your pages to render and decide to leave your site.

Secondly, earlier in 2020, Google made page load speed a core part of their algorithm. This meant that slow-loading pages actually started to see a demotion in organic search rankings.

Since sites built with GroovePages can rank in Google, you will stand a much better chance of reaching the top of the search results.

Impressively, you can use GroovePages to create a fully functional website complete with checkout options, or just a simple squeeze page.

If you are on the paid plan, you can create unlimited pages and sell unlimited products, while the free plan has a limit of 3 for each.

That being said, you can still connect custom domains, even on the free plan which is pretty nice too.

This feature combined with GrooveSell also lets you create:

  • One-click Upsells
  • One-click Downsells

Features like these help you increase your conversions significantly, as they make it much easier for your customer to purchase additional products.

If you think about why big companies like Amazon are so successful, it’s because they make everything as convenient as possible for their customers.

Using the one-click order bumps upsells and downsells you can do something similar to help you generate even more sales.

With beautiful templates, fast loading pages, and an easy to use editor, GroovePages gives you pretty much everything you need to maximize your conversions.

Plus, the fact that this feature is available for free is pretty crazy when you consider the pricing of other tools.

I would say that GroovePages alone is quite comparable to Unbounce, which starts at $80 per month.

Fun fact: You can connect more custom domains with the free version of GroovePages, than the $80 per month plan of Unbounce.


The GrooveSell Dashboard

GrooveSell is another big feature that this platform has to offer. It’s a sales and affiliate platform that you can use to process payments and create checkouts.

As I mentioned in the GroovePage description, these features go hand in hand. One lets you build your pages, the other lets you sell your products.

GrooveSell also has very nice analytics which shows you the following:

  • Profit
  • Net profit
  • Revenue
  • Initial Sales
  • Rebills
  • Commissions (If affiliate)
  • Projected Sales
  • And more

Just like GroovePages, this feature is also available in the free plan. However, this may change in the future which is why you’re probably best to sign up for GrooveFunnels now if you are thinking to do so.

Besides the analytics, you can also connect a variety of 3rd party payment processors like Stripe or Paypal without any additional fees.

Alternatively, you can also use their payment processor, GroovePay which stands as its own entity and isn’t a part of GrooveFunnels. However, they work well with each other, as both are created by the same company.

GrooveMember is another great feature that this software has to offer, as it lets you build your membership site.

Like the other features, inside of Groove, it doesn’t disappoint.

It’s pretty much like any other membership site builder, such as Thinkific and Kajabi.

GrooveMember has:

  • Different levels of access for your members
  • Drip-feed content options
  • Ability to create free and paid courses

Just like everything else inside of this software, GrooveMember is constantly evolving. It is also set to have certification options available, once it is fully developed. Still, even now it can compete with other membership site platforms.

And, if you for some reason, you don’t want to use GrooveMember, it will also natively integrate with all the most popular membership site platforms on the market.


Similar to the ClickBank marketplace, GrooveAffiliate is a marketplace that all the Groove users will have access to. It is known as the GrooveMarket.

With this also comes the affiliate management, so you can use it to recruit affiliates, track their stats, and even pay them directly from the same dashboard as all your other apps.

Again, it’s pretty nice having your affiliate management platform, in the same dashboard as everything else. It makes managing your business convenient and allows you to run everything smoothly using just one piece of software.


If you run any type of online business, you’ll know how important email marketing is.

GrooveMail removes any need for an external autoresponder and helps you follow up with your list to make more sales.

How good is it?

At the moment, the Groove email feature is still in beta, but the folks behind this software solution are aiming for it to be on par with other well-known services such as ActiveCampaign and the GetResponse autoresponder.

Until that time though, we will have to wait and see.

Once it fully rolls out, it is supposed to have comprehensive automation features, tagging, email templates, and even SMS gateway functionality.

You’ll be able to use an extensive number of triggers, or “conditional splits” as they are called inside of GrooveMail. And, there are also several tagging options available.

As of right now, the full list of triggers is not yet available, but they will be in the coming months, which I am looking forward to seeing.

There are basic triggers that you can use already such as:

  • If lead is subscribed
  • If lead is not subscribed
  • If lead has tag
  • If lead doesn’t have tag

But, GrooveFunnels say there will be many more triggers coming to allow for advanced automation sequences.

However, GrooveMail is one of the latest additions to the platform. It only just launched in September 2020, so it still has a little way to go in its development.


GrooveBlog is the blogging platform that will allow you to run a responsive blog that will also be Google-friendly.

It’s probably going to be fairly basic in comparison to WordPress, but if you only need a simple blogging platform then it might be all you need.

If you need something more advanced, or if you already have an active blog set up on WordPress then GrooveFunnels will also integrate directly with this popular content management system.

That aside, GrooveBlog is there if you want to run a blog from within your Groove dashboard and you don’t need all the bells and whistles that WordPress provides.

For example, if you have an agency or coaching website, you might decide that a blog should be part of your strategy.

This is where you can use this feature to start a blog. The pages created with GrooveBlog will be SEO-friendly, fast-loading, and fully customizable.

Even though it won’t have anywhere near as many plugin options that WordPress does, Mike Filsaime has announced that there will be a plugin store like the one WordPress has where 3rd party developers can upload their plugins.

This, therefore, may also provide a unique opportunity for developers to create and sell plugins on the Groove platform and earn additional revenue. However, I am just speculating about that.

That being said, it will take years of development to reach the level of WordPress. It’s a nice feature that most other sales funnel builders don’t have, nonetheless.


The next feature is GrooveQuiz, which as the name suggests lets you quiz your audience.

Quizzes are a great way for you to engage your audience and lead them through a sales process.

The ability to use quizzes will also help you to gather valuable information about your customers to help you serve them better, and ultimately for you to make more money.


GrooveKart is a stand-alone eCommerce platform that is comparable with Shopify. The main difference is that it has the most popular Shopify apps included for free.

If you’re a Shopify user then you will know that this can save you hundreds of dollars on additional apps that you will no longer need to pay for.

As you can see on the official GrooveKart website, GrooveKart is now a free app. So if you want to build an eCommerce store you can now do it for free!

If you are into eCommerce, this is an absolute steal when you consider the pricing of some of their competitors like Shopify.

It also has a range of unique options for Print-on-demand and shipping that would normally cost additional fees with any other platform.

Most online businesses nowadays will need to use videos. Whether it’s a video sales letter on your landing page, or you need to create lots of videos for a paid membership area, ordinarily, video hosting costs can soon add up.

One alternative is to host your videos for free on YouTube. However, the problem with this is, if a site visitor clicks one of your videos then they will leave your landing pages and be taken to YouTube.

If this happens then you’ve potentially lost the sale.

This is why a lot of marketers pay for a video hosting service like Wistia. However, this can set you back an additional $99 per month.

However, GrooveVideo lets you host all your videos inside your account, for free.

It’s another feature that will save you thousands of dollars in annual fees.


GrooveWebinars is the webinar feature of the all-in-one tool.

The Groove team have aimed to make GrooveWebinars on par with both WebinarJam (live webinar software) and Everwebinar (pre-recorded webinar app).

Given that Mike Filsaime was also a founding member of the two webinar platforms named above, I think we can also expect this feature to be pretty damn good.


Another feature I particularly like is GrooveDesk, which is Groove’s support desk app.

Good customer support is critical to an online business, especially if your business model involves selling your own products.

If you need to use a support desk then GrooveDesk will save you hundreds of dollars on a 3rd party support app like ZenDesk.

Since GrooveDesk is located in the same place as GrooveSell, you can directly, and easily manage sales actions like refunds, from the same dashboard which is always nice.


GrooveCalendar is a calendar app that is similar to Calendly.

This app lets you book appointments with your clients, collect payments (through GrooveSell), and manage all your meetings in one place.

Again, having this feature inside of the whole Groove eco-system is also cool as it eliminates the need to use dozens of different software applications.


This feature allows you to send surveys to your audience and collect valuable data from them.

Running surveys will help you get a deeper understanding of the problems our audience is facing, what exactly they are looking for, and even what they think of your business!

You can then tailor your products to solve these problems and increase your conversions.

You’ll be able to run surveys as separate pages which you can send via email, or combine with anything you build in Groove.

GroovePages For Shopify

Something that I find quite cool is that you can also integrate GroovePages with Shopify using a separate app.

This could be useful if you already have a successful E-commerce store on Shopify and don’t want to move it.

When you buy GrooveFunnels, you get access to this app for free, in case you have a store that you don’t want to move to GrooveKart.

GrooveFunnels Support and GrooveAcademy

GrooveFunnels also comes with fantastic support and the GrooveAcademy.

In terms of support, it has:

  • Live Chat Support
  • Email Support
  • Ticketing Support
  • 193+ articles

The only thing that might be missing is phone support, but other than that it has everything.

Besides the help and support that GrooveFunnels offer, you also get access to a considerable amount of training material from Mike Filsaime and John Cornetta themselves.

The cool thing about this is that they don’t only teach you how to use Groove. These expert and highly seasoned marketers also teach you how to get traffic and improve your conversions.

This is pretty awesome, as it’s something that a lot of people struggle with, especially beginners.

So, with Groove, you aren’t just getting an all-in-one sales marketing platform. You also get free access to courses and knowledge that is worth thousands.

GrooveFunnels also hold regular webinars to help you get the most out of the platform.


Last but not least, one of my favorite things about Groove is the community behind it.

The Facebook group has over 100,000 active members which also include Groove developers, Mike Filsaime, John Cornetta, and the other founding members as well.

This is great because you will be able to tap into a large group of like-minded people who can help and support you on your journey if you need it.

ClickFunnels is probably the most popular alternative. It has over 120,000 customers who love its ease of use, its features, and its vibrant community.

The features don’t quite stack up like GrooveFunnels’ do, but they do have:

  • Funnel/Page building features
  • Membership sites
  • Email automation
  • Affiliate management
  • Extensive marketing training

These are the core features, but it also has a lot of education material and a big community behind it. If you’re looking for a more finished product, instead of one which is still being developed, ClickFunnels could be a good choice for you.

Probably the closest comparable product to GrooveFunnels on the market, Kartra is another all-in-one marketing platform. It promises to have all the SaaS tools you need in one convenient place.

Mike Filsaime was also a founder of this software product but left it to create GrooveFunnels.

Just like ClickFunnels, it’s a bit more of a finished product, meaning you won’t be waiting for any features.

That being said, it doesn’t quite have as many features as GrooveFunnels will have, once it’s fully developed.

Some people say they prefer Kartra, others say that GrooveFunnels is an improved version of it.

Something cool about Kartra though, is that every pricing plan has all features available (apart from the Agency feature), so you can enjoy all of them, no matter which pricing plan you’re on.

The main differences between Kartra and GrooveFunnels as of right now are:

  • GrooveFunnels has faster-loading pages

SamCart is a lot more focused on checkouts as the name may suggest. It has a page builder too, but it doesn’t have all the other features that GrooveFunnels has.

Although it does win in terms of analytics and, of course, the shopping cart features, it does lack in a lot of other areas when compared to Groove.

GrooveFunnels Review: My Final Thoughts

As necessary as they are nowadays for online businesses, SaaS tools can get pretty expensive.

As we saw in my GrooveFunnels review earlier, you could burn through thousands of dollars per year. With GrooveFunnels, you get access to pretty much everything you need to build a profitable online business for much less than it would usually cost.

However, bear in mind that GrooveFunnels is still in beta, and some of the features are still yet to be made available.

Personally, I do think it is worth investing in GrooveFunnels, but I would recommend you try the free version first to see if you like it.

If you then decide that GrooveFunnels is right for you, then I highly recommend trying to upgrade to the lifetime deal as this will save you thousands of dollars over the months and years to come.

SamCart has a huge list of features which all combine perfectly to help businesses lift their conversions if used correctly.

Let’s break them down to help you get a better understanding of how they can be used.

Sales Page design

One of the first and most important features that SamCart has to offer is sales page design.

You can easily create beautiful sales pages using the easy-to-use drag and drop builder inside of SamCart.

There is no limit on how many pages or products you can create, which gives you the flexibility to try out lots of templates for A/B testing if you want to.

I also like this feature because it meant I can create more product lines using different landing pages, all from within the same account. Annoyingly, many SaaS tools put significant restrictions on what you can create.

Using SamCart, you can create both multi-step sales pages and one-page checkouts. This makes it a versatile platform that can be used to sell pretty much any kind of product.

Order Bumps & One-Click Up-Sells

Order bumps, one-click up-sells and down-sells are highly effective tools in increase your conversion rate and boost your total cart value.

If you’re not familiar with order bumps then basically, they’re like one-time offers you can include in your funnel, usually on the checkout page. They work especially well if the order bump is a complementary product to the leasing product that is offered on the sales page.

For example, let’s imagine you’re a fitness coach who’s trying to sell an eBook. A great order bump would be to offer the audio version of the book for an additional cost.

This works well because most people just don’t get time to read the eBooks they buy and so, being offered the audio version for a few extra bucks is an attractive offer to many. With a simple tick, they can add the audio book to their cart, and you increase the total cart value as a result.

The one-click upsell is a separate, but complementary product that is offered to the customer on a separate page. Once the customer has clicked the button to accept the first offer, they are then diverted the the up-sell page.

The reason it’s called one-click up-sell is that the payment info is already saved, meaning your customer only needs to click a button to purchase, instead of entering in their credit card details.

If, however, the customer declines the first offer, then you can have them diverted to one more offer at a lower price, known as the down-sell offer.

Coupons & Discounts

The next feature is the ability to create coupons and discounts. 

Creating coupons and discounts can work extremely well to promote your products and can therefore also help you increase conversions over a given period.

This SamCart feature is also much more advanced than most shopping cart/landing page alternatives out there. The reason being is that, with SamCart, you create both simple coupons that apply to one-time transactions, as well as recurring transaction coupons if you need to.

Template Library

SamCart has a vey large selection of templates for both sales and checkout pages.

Personally, I do like the look of the templates as they’re modern and professional, yet simple. You also have a wide variety of templates for different types of pages and carts, which could prove to be useful if you ever decide to switch the type of products that you sell, or if you operate businesses in different industries.

Recurring Payments & Subscriptions

SamCart can also help you process recurring payments and subscriptions.

This is great because I have heard several stories from friends who have used certain other shopping cart or eCommerce platforms that don’t allow you to process recurring payments and subscriptions. This then causes real headaches, as they have to go through a lot of effort and extra expense by using two cart platforms and trying to integrate them.

You also have some great options inside of the SamCart subscriptions area that many other SaaS tools don’t have. For example, you can create free trials, paid trials, and even payment plans. This further increases the likelihood of you making sales.

Plus, you can manage all your customers from your customer portal and they can also cancel their own subscriptions easily whenever they need to.

Customers being able to cancel their own subscriptions is something that will save you many wasted hours replying to customer support emails.

A/B Testing

SamCart has detailed A/B testing functionality allowing its customers to understand exactly what is converting and what isn’t.

Using SamCart, you can not only split-test your sales pages, but also the actual carts themselves, which is a pretty cool feature. This gives you the ability to tweak the components of your cart to optimize for maximum conversions.

Subscription Saver (Dunning)

When it comes to other platforms that do allow you to process recurring transactions, they can often have a problem with creating many failed transactions. This, of course, is not good for business!

Often, these platforms will just treat a failed transaction as a customer canceling, which of course means you would lose out on a lot of revenue. This is not the case with SamCart, as it will keep trying to charge the customer on auto-pilot until the sale goes through.

As you can imagine, this is going to be a tremendous tool in your online business arsenal.

SamCart has a great list of integrations, as it is compatible with a number of leading autoresponders, membership site platforms, and payment processors.

This is another great feature if you want to recruit affiliates to sell your products for you. You won’t need to use an expensive third party solution for this as you’ll be able to manage it all from within your SamCart dashboard.

You also have full control in terms of the percentages that you set up for your affiliates. You can create standard commission rates or even have a tied compensation plan to incentivise those affiliates that are prepared to work harder to promote your products.

Abandoned Cart Feature

Do you remember that shocking statistic I told you about earlier? 79.17% of online shoppers abandon their cart before completing the steps on your checkout page.

I think, you, like me, agree that you’d want more than one in four people who add a product to their cart, to actually convert.

The Cart abandonment feature is something that could help with exactly that. Using this feature, you can engage with the customer who has abandoned their cart and follow up with them later to try to make the sale.

For example, you might set up SamCart to notify your autoresponder, when a cart is abandoned. Then, that lead will be added to an email automation sequence based on the abandoned cart, and receive periodic emails from you encouraging them to complete their purchase.

In this automation sequence, you can remind them of the product or potentially offer them a discount to make the sale more likely.

Now imagine the conversion increase of when you have something like this in place, and hundreds or even thousands of people adding your products to their cart. If you don’t already have this set up in your business then you’re just leaving money on the table.

Advanced Analytics

It’s great to have all these conversion rate optimisation tools set up ion your business. But if you can’t accurately measure them, then you’re not going to be able to scale effectively.

Luckily, SamCart also has detailed analytics that help you understand which steps of your cart and sales pages are converting.

Core Commerce Features

Lastly, I want to tell you about some of the core commerce features inside of SamCart. These are features that didn’t fit into any category but are still useful for most businesses.

Taxes & VAT

SamCart lets you collect any taxes & VAT.

This is a feature that many cart platforms ignore, so it’s nice to see SamCart making things easier for their customers in that sense.

Partial Refunds

You can also issue partial refunds if you feel that is suited. This is great because partial refunds can be a hassle. With SamCart, partial refunds are easy to issue.

Custom Fields

If you sell products that mean you need to collect custom requirements, like shirt size, then you’ll need to use custom fields.

If you’re looking to sell products that need to use custom requirements, then SamCart is one of the best tools you use, IMO.

SCA, GDPR, PCI Compliant

With recent heavy SCA, GDPR, and PCI changes, you must stay compliant, otherwise, you might face fines.

Fortunately, SamCart is compliant with all of these regulations, so you can use it to easily set up your business how you need to and be compliant from the get-go.

What I like about SamCart

While SamCart has a lot of great features, there are a few things in particular that I like about this platform.

As I have mentioned a lot throughout this article, conversion-rate optimisation is at the heart of what SamCart can offer you.

I’m talking about the order bumps, one-click upsells, A/B testing, and detailed analytics. Of course, these features will not sell your products for you, but they definitely can make a massive difference to your conversions, if you use them correctly.

Plus, the templates combine well with these features too, as they are also focused on converting visitors with clear layouts and CTA buttons.

I also like that SamCart doesn’t ignore the less flashy requirements, and helps business owners with tax obligations and in staying compliant with important laws.

Finally, I also particularly like how easy it is to use SamCart to scale up your business with your own affiliate program.

What I don’t like about SamCart

There isn’t much negative to say about SamCart, except for two things, in my opinion.

For me, the first thing I find it a bit of a let-down that some of the best features are only available in the $199 per month “Scale” plan.

This includes:

  • Cart abandonment
  • Built-in A/B testing
  • Affiliate center
  • Subscription saver (dunning)

If SamCart could make one exception, I think they should at least allow all plans to be able to do A/B testing as this is an important part of growing a business.

Secondly, if you need to reach support then you only have the option of email. I’d prefer to also have the option fo live chat support. However, I have heard that SamCart’s email support is actually very good, so I guess it’s not too bad.

However, what I would say about ThriveCart is that some of the designs of the shopping cart look a little outdated.

Still, in terms of price for features, I think it would be quite hard to beat.

3. ClickFunnels

ClickFunnels is one of the most popular funnel builders with over 120,000 members.

It aims to be the best landing page and funnel builder platform for online businesses by offering the following core features:

  • Membership site builder
  • Autoresponder
  • Affiliate management

It does have a great list of features, so it’s worth checking out if you want to see the full list of features that ClickFunnels offers.

The one thing I personally don’t like about ClickFunnels is their templates as they look somewhat outdated and are all very similar to each other. Having said that, they can be customized to a great degree.

The third and final alternative I recommend is Kartra.

Kartra is also still in the early stages but has already proven to have some powerful features.

As you can see, it’s quite similar to ClickFunnels with some minor differences in the features.

Kartra is more of an all-in-one online business solution and offers additional tools like the help desk and video hosting functions.

From my experience, the autoresponder inside of Kartra is also better than ClickFunnels’ autoresponder, as it has more triggers for tags and automation sequences. Having said that, I personally prefer to use a stand-alone autoresponder service since it’s such an important part of a business.

5. GrooveSell

GrooveSell is a new app that launched in 2020. It is part of the GrooveFunnels software and is a completely free app.

I list this shopping cart option here because it is slightly different to it’s sister, GrooveKart.

With GrooveSell you can create sales and product funnels complete with upsell and downsell pages, order bumps and, of course, a checkout page.

The main difference with this app is that is is designed to be used to sell digital products such as eBooks, videos, courses, coaching sessions, etc. If you want to sell physical products then choose on of the other shopping cart solutions listed above.

SamCart has proven to be a strong solution for businesses struggling with high cart abandonment and low conversions.

The reason it works well for increasing conversions is the features like the order bumps and one-click up-sells, as well as its strong analytics capabilities.

Just like almost any funnel builder you know, they also have a great selection of templates. Both of them offer a good variety, and the templates look quite nice. They can be easily edited with the drag & drop builder which makes it easy to build the websites or funnels you want.

BuilderAll and GrooveFunnels also have great email marketing features.

They both have drag & drop email marketing automation sequences with lots of triggers that can also be combined with their beautiful email templates.

Membership Site Builder

If you’re someone looking to sell a course or create another type of membership site, then, of course, you’re going to need a dedicated builder for it.

Both GrooveFunnels and BuilderAll have one, which is great because it stops you from having to go for something like Kajabi or Thinkific.

Comprehensive Checkout Features & Affiliate Platform

Something that I also like about both of these platforms is that they come with comprehensive checkout features.

This includes things like order bumps & one-click upsells to help you make the most out of every sale. Plus, you can also recruit affiliates to help you make more sales in the first place.

Video Hosting

Another similarity between these two platforms is that they both offer video hosting. They both also allow you to manage the videos and add CTA’s which is quite nice too.

Booking & Calendar App

For those of you that have consulting or other service-based businesses, you’re probably going to need a calendar app.

Luckily, both of these platforms have one which stops you from having to get another external service for this purpose too.

Webinar & Live Streaming

Another cool thing about both of these platforms is that they come with webinars & live-streaming apps. They both allow you to create live webinars and auto (evergreen) webinars.

What GrooveFunnels Has That Builderall Does Not Have

GrooveFunnels Has a Free Plan

The first thing that GrooveFunnels has which BuilderAll doesn’t is a free plan.

You can get access to all of GrooveFunnels’ features for free. The page builder, the autoresponder, etc… everything.

However, they do have a few limits in terms of contacts, websites, and domains but that is to be expected on a free plan.

Another big feature that is not inside of BuilderAll is GrooveKart.

This is a feature that is comparable to Shopify, with the main difference being that it comes with all the apps. Using this feature alone, you can build a full eCommerce store. Interestingly, this feature on its own without GrooveFunnels costs $99 per month.


GrooveProof is the feature that helps you add social proof to your sales pages. Using this, you can add little pop-ups that will say something like “X person just bought this”.

This helps you leverage social proof to increase your conversions. BuilderAll does not have this feature.


GrooveSDK is the feature that is going to allow 3rd party developers to work on GrooveFunnels and create plugins and apps.

This feature will make it an open-source platform similar to, which means there is much more coming to this platform.

GrooveSurvey & GrooveQuiz

Two more features that BuilderAll doesn’t have are GrooveSurvey and GrooveQuiz. As the name suggests, these are tools to help you keep your audience engaged. BuilderAll doesn’t have these.

GrooveMail & GrooveAutomation Will Be More Advanced

GrooveMail & GrooveAutomation according to Groove themselves will be like ActiveCampaign. If this is the case, then it will be much more advanced than BuilderAll’s automation sequences.

BuilderAll’s automation sequences are also drag & drop, but they don’t have as many triggers as ActiveCampaign.

What Builderall Has That GrooveFunnels Does Not Have


One of the main features that BuilderAll has that GrooveFunnels doesn’t is the Chatbot feature.

Using this feature, you’ll be able to create Chatbots and add them to your sites created in BuilderAll. However, if you are looking to go with GrooveFunnels, you can get external software for this for $10 per month, or even $37 lifetime.

So, it’s not exactly the end of the world that GrooveFunnels doesn’t have this feature.

WordPress 3 Click Integration

BuilderAll allows you to integrate with WordPress in just 3 clicks.

This is a native integration, while with GrooveFunnels you would have to use Zapier.

One Live Call With BuilderAll Specialist

With BuilderAll’s plans, you also get a live call with a BuilderAll specialist. This is one live call only to help you get set up, but it’s still something that isn’t inside of GrooveFunnels.

Chatbot Niche Funnels

On the BuilderAll Funnel club plan, you can get access to 30+ Messenger chatbot niche funnels. Again, because GrooveFunnels doesn’t have Chatbots, this is only available in BuilderAll.

Auction Checkout

Last but not least, BuilderAll also has an auction checkout. This can help you run auctions for your products which can create additional scarcity.

Builderall Drawbacks

Let’s take a look at the drawbacks of BuilderAll.

No Free plan & Limited Pricing

Firstly, it does not have a free plan. This means, you won’t be able to start building your business and upgrade later on, you have to invest in the software as soon as your trial is over.

If you’re a beginner or simply on a budget, this could be a reason to go for GrooveFunnels.

Plus, it also only really has one pricing plan which is the premium. This doesn’t exactly give you the best options if you only need a couple of features available in BuilderAll.

Templates Compared To GrooveFunnels

Compared to GrooveFunnels I think their templates aren’t as good.

They are good compared to most other funnel builders but they do look a bit outdated, compared to GrooveFunnels’ modern templates. Although, this is just my opinion.

Slow Dashboard

I’m not sure why this is the case, but BuilderAll’s dashboard is slow. It used to be the same for their pages, but luckily that seems to have changed. Still, their dashboard is quite slow which can have bad effects on your productivity.

Poor Support

The support is probably one of the most common complaints that I hear about BuilderAll. I’ve heard them be described as everything ranging from rude to not helpful.

GrooveFunnels Drawbacks

GrooveFunnels has fewer drawbacks, but one of them is more significant. Take a look below to see how they would affect you.

Still In Beta

This is the most significant because it affects the platform in several ways.

Firstly, you don’t know whether all of the features are coming in the future. There is no guarantee that they will.

Although, they are extremely likely to because the founders have been involved in other successful projects like Kartra, WebinarJam, and EverWebinar. These guys have a good reputation and a great track record.

However, it also affects the way the platform currently works as it means there are some bugs. Fortunately, these are getting rarer every day as the GrooveFunnels team is constantly working on them.

Limited Pricing Plans

Another drawback is that their pricing plans are somewhat limited right now. If you don’t want to invest in their lifetime plan yet, your only other option is the free plan as of right now. However, this is meant to be changing soon.

GrooveFunnels Pricing

GrooveFunnels is still in beta mode which means you can get access to a special deal at the moment.

GrooveFunnels will soon be switching their pricing plans and will range from $99 per month to $299 per month, depending on the limits & features needed by the user.

As you have seen throughout this article, GrooveFunnels vs BuilderAll is not a direct comparison as GrooveFunnels offers a lot more features that are beyond the scope of what Builderall provide.

However, both marketing software programs have a fantastic list of features for what they are designed to do.

They’re also both extremely similar which makes it quite hard to pick a winner. I think it just depends on the features you need, as well as your budget.

For example, if you’re in it for the long run, and feel you need all of the features GrooveFunnels has, you can consider going for the lifetime upgrade.

On the other hand, if you feel like BuilderAll is the better option and you don’t mind about not having great support, then you can go for BuilderAll.

Additionally, BuilderAll has also been around longer which means it has been tested a little more. This also means that GrooveFunnels has a few more bugs, as we mentioned earlier, but they are becoming rarer.

The problem with ClickFunnels though, is that it can get pretty expensive and it also doesn’t have video hosting, which can be quite annoying when building membership sites, or if you need a place to host your video sales letters (VSL).

That’s why today, I’m going to be comparing GrooveFunnels vs ClickFunnels to help you find the solution that is suited best to your business.

Something that did catch my eye about GrooveFunnels is that they do also offer a free plan, which is quite rare for sales funnels software. We’ll talk more about this later on though.

So, which is the best option to choose for your business, GrooveFunnels or ClickFunnels? Let’s find out.

What Is ClickFunnels?

ClickFunnels is currently the most popular sales funnel software platform on the market.

It was founded by Russell Brunson in 2014 and has since then grown a massive community of marketers, small business owners, and entrepreneurs.

It was also one of the first sales funnels software products to be somewhat of an “all-in-one” online marketing platform that allows you to:

  • Build sales funnels
  • Manage your affiliates
  • Build membership sites
  • Host webinars
  • Build checkouts
  • Send emails

What Is GrooveFunnels?

GrooveFunnels is much more than just a sales funnel builder. Yes, it will help you to build sales funnels, but it can do far more than just this. It is actually a complete all-in-one business and marketing platform that will help you build, launch, run and scale your business.

The company behind GrooveFunnels, GrooveDigital, was founded in 2018, with GrooveFunnels itself launching in April 2020 in beta mode. It officially launched on October 6th 2020.

At this point in time, most of the important features are already live for you to use, including the sales funnel feature. Even in beta mode it does more than enough to help you build an online business, which is impressive to say the least.

Once the software is fully developed, it will have by far the biggest selection of features.

Other than the name, there are also several other similarities between ClickFunnels vs GrooveFunnels.

Ease of Use

Although there is, of course, a learning curve with both marketing platforms, they’re both actually quite easy to use, even for non-tech-savvy folks. In my opinion, the sales funnel feature of ClickFunnels is currently easier, to use.

However, having said that, GrooveFunnel’s sales funnel app is quite straightforward. Groove also has better support if you get stuck and need assistance. While ClickFunnel’s support is okay, I have had to wait several hours for a reply on occasion, which can really slow you down when you’re trying to get set up.

They have a nice dashboard that lets you access all features with ease.

Both platforms do not require any coding or tech knowledge, and there is also no need to worry if you don’t have any experience with building sales funnels or websites.

Ready-to-use Funnel Templates

Another similarity between ClickFunnels vs GrooveFunnels is that they both come with ready-to-use sales funnel templates.

These templates are ready to use, you only have to plug-in your product and copy, then you’re good to go.

Both platforms have templates for all different kinds of funnels, although it does look like ClickFunnels has a few more. This is to be expected, as it has been around for a lot longer, meaning they have built more templates.

Still, both ClickFunnels and GrooveFunnels have templates that are:

  • Ready-to-use
  • High-converting
  • Easy-to-edit

Membership Sites

Both platforms can be used to build membership sites, which are great for hosting your online courses.

Both membership site builders have:

  • Drip-feed content
  • Multiple access levels
  • Templates for landing pages & membership area

What I particularly like about ClickFunnels and GrooveFunnels is that they both have a wide range of funnel templates ready for you to use, including membership site templates.

These templates are already set up as part of a sales funnel, so you can get new customers signed up and into your members area all at once.

Affiliate Management Tool

Both also come with an affiliate management tool.

This means you will be able to recruit and manage affiliates directly from the dashboard on each platform. Within the affiliate management systems you can set up custom commissions, links and have a closed or open affiliate program with both of these platforms.

Email Autoresponder Feature

Another similarity is that both ClickFunnels and GrooveFunnels have an autoresponder feature.

GrooveMail, the autoresponder feature inside of GrooveFunnels is ready to use, but it is not fully developed yet. However, it’s worth noting that Mike Filsaime and John Cornetta are planning to make GrooveMail as advanced as ActiveCampaign and GetResponse once it’s fully developed.

ClickFunnels’ autoresponder is called follow up funnels. I haven’t used it myself, but I have heard that it’s a fairly standard email marketing platform and doesn’t quite have as many automation triggers as for example, ActiveCampaign.

That being said, the follow-up funnels are still more than enough to build effective email marketing campaigns.

You can also integrate both ClickFunnels and the new-comer, GrooveFunnels with any other email marketing platform if you needed to.

Learning Curve

Despite both platforms being easy to use, they do, of course, also have a bit of a learning curve, which is to be expected with advanced software apps like these.

This is because it will naturally take you some time until you fully understand the platform’s features and how they work. It’s not like a massive learning curve like you may know from other SaaS tools, it’s more just getting used to the platforms.

Share Funnels

Something that is also quite cool about both of these platforms is the ability to create sales funnels and then share the templates with others.

Using a unique link (or code for GrooveFunnels) you can share your entire sales funnel with another user in minutes.

It doesn’t matter whether it’s a membership site, a squeeze page, or your sales funnel landing page, it can easily be shared with another user of the platform.

Drag and Drop Page Builder

GrooveFunnels and ClickFunnels also have an easy-to-use drag and drop interface that allows you to create beautiful, high-converting pages.

Both page builders work similarly by letting you drag and drop your sections and elements to build your landing pages and sales funnels.

Combined with the beautiful templates that we spoke about earlier, GrooveFunnels and ClickFunnels make it easy to build high-converting sales funnels.

Shopping Cart Feature

Another feature that is similar inside both of these software apps is the shopping cart feature.

Both online marketing platforms allow you to easily build high-converting checkouts that you can use with your sales pages.

You can also add cool features like order bumps into your cart pages on both platforms.

Upsell and Downsell Pages

Upsell and downsell pages are essential if you want to make the most out of every sale.

Both platforms let you build upsell and downsell pages that can even process purchases with just one-click if the payment information is stored (i.e they have made a purchase before).

A/B Testing

Another similarity between the two platforms is the full A/B testing functionality to help you find the best converting version of your landing pages.

This means there will be no need for split-testing your landing pages manually and trying to figure out which one converts best.

ClickFunnels and GrooveFunnels will track your results and help you determine a winner so that you don’t have to.

Affiliate Program

GrooveFunnels and ClickFunnels also have pretty solid affiliate programs.

They are both free to join and give you the ability to promote their platforms to earn commissions.

On both affiliate programs, the commission rates vary from 20-40% depending on which tier and plan you are on.

One way the two affiliate programs vary though is that ClickFunnels also has a wide range of other products that you can promote, for example, Russel Brunson’s books and courses. I can tell you from experience, they convert very well.

GrooveFunnels, on the other hand, is still new and so, at the moment you can only promote this all-in-one software suite via the GrooveFunnels affiliate program.


GrooveFunnels and ClickFunnels have the two biggest communities in the funnel building industry, as they both have over 100,000 members.

Both platforms have separate Facebook groups for their users and affiliate program members where you can network and get any help if you need some. ClickFunnels does have the upper hand in terms of group members as they have 253,000 vs GrooveFunnels’ 101,000.

That being said, GrooveFunnels has done pretty well when you consider that it’s only just launching.

Customer Service

Last but not least, they are also similar in terms of customer service.

They both provide:

  • Ticketing support
  • Chat support
  • Email support

One thing to note though is that ClickFunnels only provides basic support on the Standard plan. If you want “priority support”then you’ll need to upgrade to the $297 per month Platinum plan. Otherwise, you’ll have to contend with ticketed support.

From my experience, they always get back to you and are very helpful. They sometimes even record an over the shoulder video to show you how to do certain tasks. However, you’ll usually need to wait for several hours for them to get back to you each time. If this is an issue for you then you’ll need to upgrade to the Platinum plan.

If you are on the The Collective plan at $2,497 per month then you also get access to the VIP phone support. However, The Collective plan will likely be out of most people’s price range.

GrooveFunnels vs ClickFunnels: The Big Differences

Now that we have taken a look at the similarities between ClickFunnels vs GrooveFunnels, let’s take a look at the differences between them.

What ClickFunnels Has That GrooveFunnels Does Not Have

Here are some of the advantages that the ClickFunnels marketing platform has over the new-comer. Unfortunately, ClickFunnels doesn’t have a free account, but they do have a 14 day free trial.


The first part of ClickFunnels, which isn’t available in GrooveFunnels, is FunnelFlix.

FunnelFlix is a giant selection of courses and training created by Russel Brunson and the ClickFunnels team to help members succeed with sales funnels.

If you are on the ClickFunnels Platinum plan, you will also get access to the Platinum section of FunnelFlix.

It doesn’t only have educational material on funnels, but also on copywriting, marketing, and traffic.

The ClickFunnels Platinum plan section also includes recordings of events that had ticket prices of up to $25,000, so to get them included with your account is pretty sweet.


Something else that is also exclusive to ClickFunnels is the Funnel Fridays series.

Every Friday, they host a show where they let you watch over their shoulders while they build a high-converting sales funnel.

Attending these streams can be extremely helpful, especially when you combine this with Funnel Scripts or FunnelFlix.

The cool thing about FunnelFridays is that they create a different type of sales funnel every week.

So, no matter whether you’re looking to build a membership funnel, lead funnel or whatever type of funnel you want, one of the series will walk you through it.

Funnel Hackathon

Last but not least, also only available in ClickFunnels is the Funnel Hackathon.

This is a weekly coaching program, where you and other users can build your sales funnels from start to finish.

There will be a coach who will guide you through the entire process, and help you with the parts of your funnel that need improving.

The Funnel Hackathon is only available in ClickFunnels’ $297 per month Platinum plan.

What GrooveFunnels Has That ClickFunnels Does Not Have

GrooveFunnels clearly aims to set a new standard in terms of features in the funnel-building market.

Below, you can see all the things it has to offer which ClickFunnels doesn’t. If you need most of them, then that’s definitely a reason to consider GrooveFunnels over ClickFunnels.

Let’s take a more detailed look to see if GrooveFunnels is better than ClickFunnels.

A Free-Forever Plan

First of all, GrooveFunnels has a free forever plan.

If you open a free GrooveFunnels account now, you can get the core features (GroovePages and GrooveSell) completely free for life. You can connect custom domains, build pages, and sell your products.

ClickFunnels on the other hand doesn’t have a free plan, but it does have a 14 day free trial. At least you can give it a go to see it it’s right for you before spending your money.


When comparing GrooveFunnels vs ClickFunnels, one huge, obvious advantage of GrooveFunnels is the video hosting feature.

Any videos that you use, for example, in your membership sites or on your sales pages, can be entirely hosted within your GrooveFunnels account, more specifically, in the GrooveVideo app at no extra cost.

Normally, you would need to use a third party video platform like Wistia, or Vimeo for this, but GrooveFunnels has this built-in, while ClickFunnels doesn’t. This was a major gripe of mine when I was a ClickFunnels user.

Basically, if you’re using ClickFunnels and you need to host videos for a sales page or a members area then you’ll either need to host your videos on YouTube or pay for third party video hosting. This can easily set you back an additional $99 per month.

While hosting your videos for free on YouTube is one workaround to this problem, the downside is that your videos will be available to the public on YouTube (not great for private membership sites with online courses), and YouTube suggested videos will also be shown on your videos (not great for sales videos on landing pages).


GrooveCalendar is a calendar feature as the name suggests.

This feature helps you book appointments and manage your time. If you’re a service-based business or offer consultations, then you might use something like Calendly already.

But, GrooveFunnels has it built it, meaning you would save additional subscription costs.

If you do need a calendar app, then this could be another reason why GrooveFunnels might be a better fit for you.


GrooveDesk is a helpdesk feature which is also directly built into GrooveFunnels.

ClickFunnels doesn’t have anything like this, meaning you’ll have to get another external tool for this purpose as well.


GrooveBlog is the blogging feature inside of GrooveFunnels.

Although, it’s still in development as of right now, the plans they have for this feature are pretty big.

In 2021, there will be a plugin store/marketplace where 3rd party developers can contribute new plugins making it an open-source platform similar to WordPress.

This is one of the new features that I am extremely excited about, as I enjoy both blogging and building sales funnels, and landing pages myself!

And, up until now, there hasn’t been a sales funnels software platform which has managed to combine the two, so I’ve always had to continue using WordPress when creating blogs.

Faster Load Times

The pages you build inside of GrooveFunnels will also load much quicker than anything built in ClickFunnels.

If your pages load faster, they will also convert better and therefore make you more money. Plus, they will also rank better in Google and other search engines.

Quiz Builder

GrooveQuiz is a feature that allows you to create engaging quizzes you to challenge your audience and interact with them. This can be a great way to engage your audience and it’s only available inside of GrooveFunnels.

That being said, you can build basic quizzes in ClickFunnels too by interlinking the buttons and pages, however, this is rather limited compared to what Groove has to offer.

Hosted Webinars

Another feature that isn’t available in ClickFunnels is the ability to host webinars.

GrooveWebinar lets you host both your regular webinars and your auto-webinars (or evergreen), while ClickFunnels doesn’t.

If you decide to use ClickFunnels you will also need an external hosting service to host your webinars which is quite annoying, as it’s another additional cost.


GrooveSurvey is the survey builder inside of GrooveFunnels.

You can use this feature to get detailed information about your customers allowing you to make tweaks in your marketing or business in general to increase your sales.

ClickFunnels Drawbacks

Despite its popularity, ClickFunnels does have some drawbacks compared to GrooveFunnels. You may find that these limitations don’t really impact you, but that depends on your business.

If they are problems that affect your business, then you should consider using something like GrooveFunnels instead.

Limited Basic Plan

The first ClickFunnels drawback is how limited their basic plan is.

In their basic plan, you don’t get access to:

  • Priority support
  • Affiliate management
  • Follow-up funnels

Plus, it also has some annoying limits on the number of pages, sales funnels, and domains.

Despite these limitations, this plan does cost $97 per month which probably isn’t the best value for the money.

No Video Hosting

ClickFunnels also has no video hosting functionality meaning you will need something external like Vimeo or Wistia to host videos for your online courses, which will cost you at least $49 per month.

If you are hosting videos for an entire membership site, this will usually cost you at least $99 per month.

Pages Do Not Rank Well In Google

The pages built inside of ClickFunnels are quite slow and you have limited control over them.

If you’re looking to get traffic from search engines, then using ClickFunnels will not be your best bet. GrooveFunnels on the other hand has fast-loading pages meaning it’s better for SEO.

No Blog Feature

If you want to have a blog, there is no way of having it inside of ClickFunnels.

As mentioned earlier, this means you will need a separate blog on something like WordPress. And, it can also be quite tricky to get your ClickFunnels pages on the same domain as your WordPress pages.

You can integrate the two, but then ClickFunnels pages often load very slowly. Or, you can use a subdomain that isn’t as good for your SEO and can also cause a feeling of disconnect between your blog and sales funnels.

Affiliate Management Tracking Is Not Great

Another ClickFunnels drawback is the affiliate management platform. While the options you have managing your affiliates are alright, the tracking is limited.

More importantly, the tracking doesn’t seem very accurate.

ClickFunnels uses its own affiliate management software (BackPack) for their affiliate program. As a ClickFunnels affiliate myself, I have noticed that sometimes the tracking can be off.

There is also quite a bit of talk in the ClickFunnels affiliate community that people have not been credited for some referrals, or they have noticed that they have been credited for a referral that has someone else’s tracking ID.

Fortunately, this doesn’t seem to happen often, but it does happen.

This is a shame, and I hope that ClickFunnels will fix this soon, because it is honestly a good product, and they have one of the best affiliate programs in the industry.

However, because of this, I would have concerns about using BackPack myself to promote my own affiliate program at the moment.

ClickFunnels use a third party platform called Tipalti for affiliate payments, which pays out to affiliates once every two weeks.

When it comes to using BackPack and tracking your affiliates, the information you get for each affiliate is:

  • Trials signed up
  • Earnings (Daily, weekly, monthly)
  • When they joined
  • Payment email

GrooveFunnels on the other hand gives you detailed analytics for every single affiliate.

For example, you can see how much traffic each affiliate is referring to you. Now, if one affiliate is sending thousands of visitors and none are converting, you can check the traffic quality.

If the affiliate is sending spammy or non-targeted traffic, you’ll probably want to remove them or at least warn them, as it can mess up your advertising pixels.

With ClickFunnels, you wouldn’t know if this is the case as you can’t see how many visitors are coming from each affiliate.

No Free Plan

Unlike GrooveFunnels, ClickFunnels doesn’t have a free plan.

This means if you want to use it, you’ll have to go straight onto the $97 per month Standard plan. Of course, there is a free trial, but it’s not quite the same as a free-forever plan.

GrooveFunnels Drawbacks

Although GrooveFunnels has a much smaller quantity of drawbacks, no software is perfect. It also has its disadvantages and the main reason for them is that it’s still in the early stages.

If this is something that you can’t tolerate, then consider using the ClickFunnels 14 day free trial to see whether that is the best option for you.

Still In Beta

The first and probably biggest drawback of GrooveFunnels is that it’s still in beta, although this might not be the case by the time you read this article. Having said that, at the moment a lot of the features inside of this software are still being developed, meaning you don’t yet have a finished product.

Additionally, you might not be sure that it even does what it promises to. However, given that it’s already a killer platform and has founders with a hugely successful track record of creating SaaS tools, I think it’s almost certain that it will hold its promise.

In my opinion, being still in beta is only a short-term drawback since the GrooveFunnels team are working around the clock to get everything ready and firing on all cylinders.

Smaller Community (but, it’s still in the early stages)

GrooveFunnels has a smaller community than ClickFunnels. That is to be expected though, as it’s still in early stages.

Given that GrooveFunnels is in such early stages, you can probably expect the size of their community to catch up in the following years.

Setting Up Custom Domains Is Slightly More Tricky

Another small drawback of GrooveFunnels is that setting up custom domains is slightly more tricky.

This isn’t a biggie and after setting them up once, you’ll get used to it. But, it can be annoying the first time setting up, as you have to go into the DNS settings of your domain.

GrooveFunnels Pricing

GrooveFunnels has a free plan, known as the Base plan, as I did mention throughout this article. However, the paid plans are just as good value for money.

For example, the silver plan gives you almost an identical set of features as ClickFunnels’ $297 per month plan. The difference being you get video hosting instead of webinars.

At $199 per month, GrooveFunnels Gold is a pretty good deal too, as you also get access to GrooveBlog, GrooveDesk, and GrooveCalendar.

The Platinum plan at $299 per month, gives you access to everything offering inside of GrooveFunnels including the E-commerce platform GrooveKart.

Depending on when you are seeing this, there may still be a lifetime deal available for GroovePlatinum, also known as the Lifetime Platinum plan.

If the deal is available, you can get lifetime access to everything inside of GrooveFunnels for a one-time payment of $1397. Considering this plan normally costs $299 per month, this is a crazy deal.

As you have seen throughout this comparison, both pieces of software offer solid funnel building software. However, GrooveFunnels is a complete, all-in-one business and marketing platform.

One of the key takeaways is that GrooveFunnels offers a free plan that has ClickFunnels’ core features, which are the sales funnel feature, and the cart/sales platform. It also has a much larger quantity of features, so you might argue you get more value for your money with Groove.

However, ClickFunnels’ core offering is their sales funnel app, and that’s where most of their development goes. Their page builder has an easier to use drag and drop interface, and it’s also more intuitive when creating up-sell and down-sell pages. Because of this I would say that ClickFunnels wins in the sales funnel department.

One way it does this is through the apps. On Shopify, you’ll easily find yourself paying for 10 other apps just to run your online store.

And, on other e-commerce platforms, it’s the same; for example, with WooCommerce, you’ll need additional plugins.

Other than Mike Filsaime being involved heavily in both of these projects, there are also several other similarities between Kartra vs GrooveFunnels.

In fact, GrooveFunnels has or will have every Kartra feature, and is also promising to add more software tools that Kartra does not have.

Will Kartra respond and then begin to add more apps to their platform also?

Time will tell.

However, GrooveDigital have an edge here as they have intimate insider knowledge of the blueprint behind Kartra. Because of this, they know exactly how to replicate it with modification and additional features.

In this section, I’m going to run you through the parts of these platforms that are similar, so that you know exactly what to expect if you decide to purchase either of them.

Page Builder

Both of these platforms have a brilliant page builder that lets you create several different types of websites, landing pages and sales funnels.

With both Kartra and GrooveFunnels, you can build squeeze pages, landing pages, sales funnels, full-navigation websites, and pretty much anything else you can think of.

Both platforms use an intuitive drag and drop editor, which is nice to work with.

The main difference between the page editors is that GrooveFunnels uses more up-to-date software, which also helps the pages load faster. Groove’s landing page builder app is called GroovePages, and you can get access to it completely free here.

Having said that, it’s not to bash Kartra in any way. Kartra’s page editing software is outstanding too, and probably uses software that beats a lot of other products on the market.

Plus, GrooveFunnels will also naturally have a few more bugs than Kartra, at least in the early stages, as it’s only just launched and will naturally have a few wrinkles to iron out. But, the GrooveDigital team is working on them continuously, and they are becoming less common.

In short, they both have a great drag and drop editors, but GrooveFunnels might just have the edge here over Kartra due to the superior load speed. This is important because it will help any landing pages built by GroovePages to rank better in the search results.

Large Selection of Templates

Both Kartra and GrooveFunnels have a large selection of templates.

The templates aren’t just for one type of landing page or funnel, they have something for pretty much anything you can think of.

I haven’t counted all of them, but it looks as if Kartra currently has a few more. Although, this is to be expected, as the software has been around longer.

GrooveFunnels, on the other hand, have said that they will continuously add more templates to their GroovePages library every Friday on an ongoing basis.

Regardless, both platforms have nice templates that are easy to work with in the drag and drop editors.

Email Marketing

Kartra has KartraMail, while GrooveFunnels has GrooveMail.

The email marketing feature inside of GrooveFunnels is one that is still actively getting a lot of development put into it, as it’s not quite as advanced as Kartra yet.

You can send broadcasts, and also build basic automation sequences, but that’s about it as of right now.

The GrooveFunnels team is putting a lot of resources into developing GrooveMail as they want it to be, in time, one of the most advanced email marketing solutions with powerful automation capabilities, like ActiveCampaign.

Kartra Mail, on the other hand, is fully developed and is supposed to be already quite similar to ActiveCampaign, which is pretty sweet.

Kartra Mail has a huge number of automation triggers including popular ones like:

  • “If customer has been refunded”
  • “If recipient is an active affiliate”
  • “If recipient has visited X page”

GrooveMail will eventually also have these automation triggers, but as of right now they are only available in Kartra.

The next similarity between Kartra vs GrooveFunnels is the membership site feature.

Both platforms have a feature like this that lets you build and manage your membership sites.

They both platforms have all the usual features that you would expect such as:

  • Multiple Access Levels

  • Advanced Analytics
  • Ont-time or subscription payment options
  • Member access via password

As Kartra and GrooveFunnels have these features, you won’t need any type of external membership software like Thinkific or Kajabi.

Checkout & Sales

Kartra and GrooveFunnels also have great checkout and sales features.

The checkouts are fully customizable on both platforms, meaning you aren’t locked into one style.

They also both have great up-sell features including:

  • One-click Order bumps
  • One-click Upsells
  • One-click Downsells

Powerful features like these can help you to increase your revenue considerably, so it’s great to see that both platforms have them.

Share Funnels

Another similarity between the two platforms is the ability to create share funnels and campaigns.

With both Kartra and GroovePages, you can share your sales funnels and entire campaigns with other people who are using the same platform. This can also include your email sequences.

This can be especially useful if you are operating an affiliate marketing model and you want to offer a done-for-you landing page, funnel and email sequence as a bonus, or even as a paid product upsell of your own.

Network marketers would also find this element very useful as they can give ready made sales funnels to members of their downline to help them build their business.

When it comes to the share funnel feature, I believe ClickFunnels started it. However, with Kartra and GrooveFunnels, it has now been taken a step further as you can share other assets, such as email autoresponder sequences, not just the sales funnels.

I haven’t tested it out yet, but I recently heard that helpdesks are also shareable on both these platforms.

Video Hosting

When Kartra first came out, one of the main features that really caught my eye was that it also comes with video hosting.

Now to see the newcomer, GrooveFunnels also providing this feature is really exciting!

In my opinion, the lack of video hosting in ClickFunnels is one of its biggest let downs. It’s a great platform, but without this feature you’re soon gonna run up extra costs on other 3rd party services.

Video hosting will be really useful for those of you with membership sites, landing pages that use a video sales letter (VSL), or any other place where you would need to host your own videos.

Having the video app built-in will save you at least $50 per month as you won’t need to go for a platform like Vimeo or Wistia.

This hosting feature inside of GrooveFunnels and Kartra is also extremely advanced. For example, you can tag a lead based on how much of your video they watched, and then send them emails based on the point where they switched off. That’s pretty powerful!

Now, some people might think, “I don’t need this feature, I can just host them on YouTube privately and then embed them into my landing pages and members areas.”

Well, yes, you can do that. However, there are two problems with this.

Firstly, if you are hosting your VSL on YouTube with the intention to use it to sell a product and then the viewer clicks on your video, they’ll be taken away from your landing page and straight to YouTube.

Secondly, if you’re hosting your videos on YouTube and then embedding them into a paid members area, you’ll have to set them to public in order for them to be viewable in your members area. But that then means that everyone else on YouTube will also be able to see your videos.

So, basically you’d need to host them privately.

And why not take advantage of free video hosting inside GrooveFunnels or Kartra?


Both platforms also have a help desk tool that you can connect to your websites, landing pages, or membership sites.

They allow your customers to easily contact you, meaning you will be able to provide better customer service.

Again, it’s nice to see that both platforms have this tool, as it saves you from having to get an external tool for this.


Another tool that both of Kartra and GrooveFunnels have is the calendar feature.

This tool allows you to book appointments with your clients and manage your time better.

It’s a rather small feature compared to some of the other ones, but it could prove to be useful if you own a service-based business, especially for something like consulting.

If you want to recruit affiliates to promote your own products and services then both GrooveFunnels and Kartra offer this feature.

Recruiting affiliates to promote for you is an extremely effective way to grow your business quickly.

Kartra pays out 40% recurring commissions to all its affiliates, while GrooveFunnels pays 20% to free members and 40% to paid members.

The GrooveFunnels affiliate program has also gone one step further than Kartra by offering a tier-2 level commission on top of the 20 or 40% commission, depending on your membership level.

So, if you’re on the 20% commission rate for direct sign-ups, you will then also get an additional 5% commission on anyone who signs up through someone who you have signed up.

And if you’re on the 40% commission structure, then your tier-2 commission increases from 5% to 10%.

Both affiliate programs have a ton of material for affiliates to use, including:

  • Banners
  • Email swipes
  • Ad Swipes
  • etc.

If you’re an affiliate with a funnel-building audience, promoting either GrooveFunnels or Kartra could be pretty lucrative for you. Plus, you would be promoting two of the best pieces of software on the market, so you can feel good about it too.

Both of these programs are good for beginner affiliate marketers and experienced veterans alike.

GrooveFunnels vs Kartra: Differences

As you have seen above, there are quite a lot of similarities between Kartra and GrooveFunnels.

Below, we’ll be taking a look at the key differences between both of these platforms.

What GrooveFunnels Has That Kartra Doesn’t Have

Here are the main tools only available in GrooveFunnels.

Once it’s fully developed, there may also be some parts of the individual features that are only available in GrooveFunnels. But, we’ll have to wait and see for that.

Webinar Hosting

The first app that is available in GrooveFunnels but not Kartra is the webinar hosting feature.

GrooveFunnels lets you host both pre-recorded (evergreen) webinars and live webinars.

This is not available inside of Kartra, so if you’re using that platform then you’ll need to integrate with something like EverWebinar and WebinarJam.

This means, if you are looking to use webinars, it would make sense to go for GrooveFunnels and save money by using their webinar hosting service.


GrooveKart is the eCommerce platform by GrooveDigital. If you sign up for GrooveFunnels premium or get the lifetime deal (check here if it’s still available), you will get access to it.

It’s similar to Shopify in the sense of what it does, but the cool thing about it is that all the apps are built-in for free. With Shopify, you gotta pay extra for them.

GrooveKart also has some great educational material on things like traffic and copyrighting to help you grow your business.

Faster Page Loading Times & Better Page Builder

Mike Filsaime left the Kartra project to start GrooveFunnels with his partners. 

GrooveFunnels uses more up-to-date software for their page editor. For this reason, it’s easier and more intuitive to edit your landing pages in the GroovePages app.

All the landing pages and sales funnels built with Groove are done so by using HTML. This means that your landing pages and websites will load much faster for your visitors, and so there’s less chance of your visitors getting frustrated waiting for your page to load and leaving. Unfortunately, this often happens with slower page builders.

If your landing pages are loading quickly then you’ll also get an additional SEO benefit. This is because Google now awards higher rankings to pages that load faster, especially for mobile.

If you’re looking to use SEO to generate organic traffic, this (and the next feature) would be a big reason for you to pick GrooveFunnels over Kartra.


GrooveBlog is the blogging platform that will be quite similar to WordPress. It will also have an open-source plugin store, meaning 3rd party developers can upload their own plugins. 

The blog pages will be easy to edit and also be SEO-friendly. To have something like this inside of your funnel-builder is awesome. 

  • GrooveQuiz and GrooveSurvey

Kartra also doesn’t have any features for Quizzes and Surveys.

You can build basic ones by connecting the buttons, but it’s nothing like the features designed for these purposes inside of GrooveFunnels. 

What Kartra Has That GrooveFunnels Doesn’t Have

As I continue to review GrooveFunnels vs Kartra, let’s now look at the tools that Kartra has but GrooveFunnels does not.

Although, I could also imagine that later on GrooveFunnels will eventually add all of these features, as they’re clearly looking to do one better than Kartra.

  • Kartra a finished Product

This first point isn’t a feature, but it’s the fact that Kartra is a finished product.

With GrooveFunnels, you’ll still be waiting on certain apps. Every single tool inside of Kartra is available and fully developed. 

If you want all the features right now for whatever reason, going for Kartra may be the right option. However, you could also look for software that integrates with GrooveFunnels, if you don’t want to miss out on the future of Groove. 

  • Kartra Uses BAM – Behavioral-Adaptive-Marketing

BAM or Behavioral-Adaptive-Marketing is a feature that lets you match what your visitors and leads see, based on their behavior.

With this feature, the landing pages, emails, copy, and offers that you create will adapt to the behavior of your visitors and leads.

This is a killer tool that can help lift your conversions, and as of right now, it’s only available in Kartra. GrooveFunnels may add this later on, but they have not mentioned anything about it yet.

  • Kartra Agency

This feature is only available in Kartra.

As the name suggests, this is extremely useful for agencies. It allows you to sell Kartra accounts and manage them as well. You get them for a 40% discount but can sell them for any price you wish.

For example, you can build an entire funnel for a client with emails, helpdesks, etc.  and charge $2,000 for the setup, plus a $500 per month retainer for managing it.

Your monthly cost would only be 40% less of what a Kartra account usually costs, and if the client stops paying you, you can revoke access.

  • Better Automation sequences (As of right now) 

As of right now Kartra also has better automation sequences.

GrooveFunnels will eventually catch up with Kartra, but right now it only has the basics. That being said, you can easily integrate GrooveFunnels with an autoresponder of your choice, if you do need advanced automation sequences.

Kartra Drawbacks

Compared to GrooveFunnels, Kartra has a few drawbacks. In this section, we are going to take a look and see what these limitations are.

No Free Plan

Firstly, Kartra does not have a free plan.

The starting price for Kartra is $97 per month, while GrooveFunnels has a completely free plan.

Slower Pages

The pages inside of Kartra are not the fastest, as it uses the older technology if you are comparing it to GrooveFunnels.

From my experience, Kartra pages can take anywhere from 3 to 7 seconds to load, depending on the size.

This could cost you conversions in some cases, and is also a problem if you’re looking to use SEO to generate organic traffic.

Fewer Features

As you may have noticed throughout this article, GrooveFunnels has more features than Kartra.

To give you a direct overview, here’s a quick recap of features only inside of GrooveFunnels:

  • Webinar hosting (Pre-recorded & live)
  • Blogging app
  • GrooveKart (E-commerce platform)
  • Survey app
  • Quiz app

While at first glance these features may not seem like that big of an impact, they are.

For all of those features, you would need entirely separate pieces of software that could easily cost you a couple of hundred bucks per month combined.

For example, GrooveKart would be comparable to Shopify. But, with all the paid apps you would need for Shopify, that would cost you at least $70-$90 per month. 

Smaller Community

Despite Kartra being older, it has a smaller community.

This isn’t anything to be ashamed of, as GrooveFunnels has seen some exponential growth this year. However, fewer people using the platform also means you’ll find it a little harder to network or get “community help”.

That being said, you may be someone who prefers a smaller community.

Kartra’s Facebook group has 21,000 members compared to GrooveFunnels’ 100,000.

21,000 for an online business group is still quite big in all fairness to Kartra.

GrooveFunnels Drawbacks

GrooveFunnels doesn’t have as many drawbacks as Kartra, but the main one of course being that it’s still in early stages. Other than that, there isn’t much at all that you could complain about.

Still In Early Stages

GrooveFunnels is still in very early stages.

This is the biggest drawback with the software, as it means:

  • Some features are not available at all
  • Some features are still being developed & improved
  • There are a few bugs (although they are becoming less frequent)

Because of the list of features that this platform has, it still is a great offer, even if it would stay the way it is.

Still, this is a drawback and it’s the biggest one with this platform. Other than that, there are only minor limitations.

Features On Lower Plans

With Kartra, even on the lowest plans, you get access to all features, apart from Kartra agency.

This isn’t the case with GrooveFunnels, as you need to have the premium plan to get access to all features.

Of course, the other plans still have great value, but this could be seen as a drawback if you were looking at one of the lower plans.

In the lifetime deal, you also get access to all features, so it’s an incredible deal, but we’ll talk more about that later on.

Kartra: Pros & Cons

Kartra is a solid all-in-one platform that could help you build an online business. To give you a clear overview, I’ve laid out all the pros and cons below.

Kartra Pros:

  • Fully-developed
  • Powerful Automation
  • All-in-one platform
  • Good sales funnel builder
  • Nice templates
  • BAM (Behavioral Adaptive Marketing)
  • Good list of features

Kartra Cons:

  • No free plan
  • Older page builder

  • Fewer features compared to GrooveFunnels

GrooveFunnels Pros & Cons

GrooveFunnels is still in beta, but is evolving quickly and has seen some exponential growth over the past couple of months. Take a look at the recap of the pros and cons below.

  • Fast pages
  • Great page builder
  • Great sales funnel builder

GrooveFunnels vs Kartra: Pricing

Now that we have taken a look at what features both platforms have to offer, let’s see at what cost they both come.

Kartra Cost

Kartra has four main plans, with the lowest one starting at $99 per month.

Something that I do like about Kartra’s pricing is that you get access to all features, even on the starter plan.

What I don’t like as much about Kartra’s pricing is the resources available such as the custom domains or bandwidth if you’re on the starter plan.

50gb bandwidth isn’t a lot, so if you are hosting videos, you’ll probably use that up with a couple of thousand visitors.

Overall though, I would say the Kartra pricing plans are fair. If you were to buy all the features separately, they would cost you a lot more as well. 

GrooveFunnels: Cost

As mentioned a couple of times throughout this review, there may still be a lifetime deal available. Before we jump into that though, let’s take a look at the regular plans.

In the image below, you can see the features and costs of each plan. Of course, there is a completely free plan which lets you build pages, sell your products, and also gives you access to the GrooveAffiliate platform.

If you were to add up the costs of all the tools you would need to get the features available in any of the plans below, you’ll realize what an incredible deal GrooveFunnels is offering.

The GrooveFunnels pricing list

GrooveFunnels Lifetime Deal

GrooveFunnels’ cost is already extremely low compared to if you were to buy separate tools for every feature.

However, there may still be an even better deal available.

As of October 2020, you can still get access to everything inside of GrooveFunnels for a one-time payment of $1397.

This deal is only available for a limited time, and a certain number of people, after which it will be discontinued.

If this deal is available, it’s worth considering, to say the least.

GrooveFunnels premium is already an incredible deal, purchasing separate tools for all the features could easily cost you thousands of dollars per year.

GrooveFunnels vs Kartra: Which Is Best?

Throughout this GrooveFunnels vs Kartra comparison, we’ve seen a close battle.

I wouldn’t necessarily say that there’s a winner, as they both have tremendous value for marketers and business owners.

Kartra could work exceptionally well if you work with clients, thanks to the agency feature. Or, it could also be the right choice for you, if you’re an experienced marketer looking to utilize the BAM feature, as well as the advanced automation sequences.

GrooveFunnels on the other hand could work incredibly well for you if you are willing to wait for all the features. Once, the software is fully developed, it will have everything you need to build a business, and you probably will rarely ever need another SaaS tool again.

GrooveFunnels could also be a good option if you are starting and want to use the free plan.

Here in my comparison of SamCart vs ClickFunnels I will review in detail the features of each platform and explain the benefits they can bring you. I will also lay out the pros and cons of working with each platform so you can clearly see for yourself which one is right for your business.

SamCart Vs ClickFunnels TL;DR Overview

What Is SamCart?

Brian and Scott Moran co-founded SamCart in 2014. The platform was designed to help businesses convert more customers by creating a better eCommerce checkout experience.

And with the average cart abandonment rate being 69.80%, it’s fair to say that there is a huge need for a product like SamCart.

Since SamCart launched, it’s become extremely popular with businesses, entrepreneurs and online marketers. While many of its competitors, including ClickFunnels, focus on being somewhat of an all-in-one platform, SamCart has stuck to its specialty; checkout experiences.

The platform is also popular with businesses of all sizes, as it has pricing plans ranging from $49 to $199 per month.

What Is ClickFunnels?

ClickFunnels is the most popular funnel builder on the market.

It’s an all-in-one platform that helps its users convert visitors into sales through a range of powerful features that combine exceptionally well together. I’ll talk about the features in much more detail later on in this article, though.

Like SamCart, the platform was also founded in 2014. Its creator, Russel Brunson, has become very known in the industry because of ClickFunnels and his internet marketing expertise.

ClickFunnels is also known for its massive community of like-minded marketers and entrepreneurs who you can network with in their Facebook group, which is always a nice bonus.

SamCart Pros

  • Allows you to create a smooth checkout experience for your customers
  • Decent pricing plans to suit every budget
  • Very conversion-focused
  • 14-day trial
  • Lots of great payment tools
  • Advanced reporting metrics like lifetime value

SamCart Cons

  • Somewhat limited in features, compared to ClickFunnels
  • Some of the best features are only on the higher plans
  • Not as many integrations as ClickFunnels

ClickFunnels Pros

  • All-in-one funnel system tool
  • Lets you host webinars
  • Allows you to create membership site platforms
  • Good list of integrations
  • Better and more complete page builder than SamCart
  • Lots of educational material and a big community
  • 14-day trial

ClickFunnels Cons

  • Not as good payment tools as SamCart
  • It can get costly and doesn’t have a lot of payment plans
  • Not as good analytics as SamCart

SamCart Features

Now that we have taken a look at some basic info on these two popular platforms, let’s jump into SamCarts in more detail and explore the features.

SamCart has quite a long list of features, and they are designed to help you generate more sales. Below, I’ve broken them down into different sections that should make them a little easier to digest.

Sales Page Design

One of SamCart’s core features is sales page design.

For this feature, SamCart comes with:

  • Drag and drop builder
  • Pre-designed templates
  • Unlimited products
  • Digital Wallets (Apple pay, Google pay, etc.)
  • Pre-made templates
  • Localization (Translate your websites automatically)
  • Custom domains

Compared to ClickFunnels, SamCarts drag and drop builder is a little more simple. It lets you create a single sales page with a thank you page, while ClickFunnels enables you to build multi-step sales funnels.

One feature that I think is especially cool about SamCart is the localization feature. This means that your pages’ language and currency will adapt to your customer’s location, which should help to increase conversions considerably.

I also like the templates inside of SamCart; they’re simple, clean, and straight to the point.

The drag and drop builder is also straightforward to use This is also complemented by how simple the templates are to work with. If you’re not that tech-savvy then you’ll find SamCart very easy to get set up.

Revenue Optimization

The next set of features are what SamCart specializes in; revenue optimization.

Here’s what SamCart has to offer in terms of revenue optimization:

  • One-click order bumps (pre-purchase)
  • One-click post-purchase upsells
  • Split-testing
  • Smart pixel tracking
  • Advanced reporting (with comprehensive insights like lifetime value)
  • Add products to order, post-purchase
  • Pay what you want/donations

SamCart’s tools for revenue optimization are pretty decent. It comes with a lot of tools to help you get the most out of every sale.

Features like one-click upsell, and order bumps can help you generate more sales from the same number of visitors, which can help to increase your profits considerably.

I also liked that SamCart has built-in split-testing for all of the assets you create, so you don’t have to create everything twice manually.

The analytics are also something that I was impressed by. They are very visual and show you some great insights. It can even make advanced business projections to help you predict the near future of your sales.

All in all, I think revenue optimization is an area where SamCart really shines.

SamCart Add Ons

SamCarts next set of features are the “add-ons.” These aren’t add ons in the sense that you have to pay for them separately. Instead, they are called add ons because they are only available in the highest-priced plan.

These features include:

  • Cart abandonment
  • Subscription saver
  • Affiliate Center/Management

Cart Abandonment

Cart abandonment is one of the main areas where SamCart has put a lot of effort into. And, according to the platform itself, SamCart recovers an impressive 35.1% of lost sales. It gives you a lot of info about users who have abandoned their cart, and it can also communicate with your autoresponder to follow up to generate the sale.

Affiliate Management

SamCarts affiliate management is pretty decent, and it has almost everything a dedicated platform would have. There’s a lot of customization for the links, plus you can also create both open and closed affiliate programs.

I also like that you can choose when cookies expire, which is a pretty cool option to have.

Subscription Saver

The final feature of this section is the subscription saver, a.k.a dunning. In case you don’t know what this is, it’s basically a feature that keeps trying to bill your customer if their subscription payment fails for any reason.

Overall, SamCart has a solid set of features, and I can definitely see them making a significant increase in sales for many businesses.

Core Commerce Features

Next, we have the core commerce features. As the name suggests, this is everything that helps you with sales and payment processing basics. However, SamCart does go a little beyond the basics here, as you can see in the list below.

  • Advanced Subscriptions (Free trials, dollar trials, or even payment plans)
  • Taxes and VAT
  • Integrations (We’ll discuss these in more detail later on)
  • Partial refunds
  • Custom fields
  • Payment processors
  • Coupons and discounts
  • Payment options
  • Customer portal

This is another set of features that I was very impressed with. I say this because there aren’t many platforms out there that provide you with this many tools at such a reasonable price.

Features like advanced subscriptions, partial refunds, and tax support are not that common in the industry. However, they can be beneficial and will allow you to be more flexible in your payments.

What SamCart Has That ClickFunnels Does Not Have

As SamCart doesn’t aim to be an all-in-one platform, it doesn’t have as many features as ClickFunnels. However, it does have a few that ClickFunnels is missing, which can make quite a significant difference when used correctly.

Let’s take a look at them below.

Better Cart/Checkout and Delivery Experience

As expected, SamCart does slightly better when it comes to the overall cart experience. This is, of course, because SamCart specializes in this area and is, therefore, where they focus most of their resources and development.

SamCart’s checkout experience is slightly better than ClickFunnels’ because it comes with more options for coupons, cart abandonment, and adding products to the cart post-purchase.

It’s not that ClickFunnels doesn’t have these features, but SamCart just has more comprehensive options on every one of them.

Plus, it also has a unique digital product delivery system that ClickFunnels doesn’t have.


SamCart’s first feature that ClickFunnels doesn’t actually have at all is localization. Again, this is the automatic translation and changing to the currency of your customer.

If you are targeting multiple countries with different languages and currencies, then the SamCart localization feature will be hugely beneficial, maybe even a game-changer for you.

Advanced Reporting

The next feature only available in Samcart is advanced reporting.

ClickFunnels has some analytics, but SamCart’s are more comprehensive thanks to projecting more metrics and a nice visual display.

Built-in Taxes and Vat

SamCart also has built-in taxes and VAT support.

With ClickFunnels, you’ll have to integrate another platform like Avalara to collect sales tax.

Partial Refunds

Lastly, this is relatively small, but SamCart lets you partially refund your customer. This isn’t a deal-breaker, as you can do this manually. But it will take a lot more time, and it won’t be as smooth with ClickFunnels.

ClickFunnels Features

Now that we have taken a look at what SamCart has to offer let’s do the same for ClickFunnels.

ClickFunnels’ core features include:

  • Sales, checkouts and payments
  • Page builder and templates
  • Webinars
  • Membership sites
  • Affiliate management
  • Email marketing/follow-up funnels
  • Educational material

Sales, Checkouts and Payments

ClickFunnels comes with a lot of built-in tools to help you collect payments and sell your products. These include payment processors, digital wallets, subscriptions and more.

It also has great checkout tools similar to those in SamCart, like order bumps and one-click upsells.

ClickFunnels gets most of this right, and it’s also got the main features of SamCart. However, it is missing a few, such as localization, sales tax, etc., as discussed earlier.

Page Builder and Templates

The ClickFunnels page builder is super easy-to-use and even quite fun. Compared to SamCart, it does give you a few more options and lets you build more types of pages and funnels.

I particularly like the color-coded blocks in the editor as this makes it super easy to use.

It doesn’t only come with the basic templates for your pages, but also or your funnel layouts. For example, it has templates for all kinds of funnels, such as a lead magnet funnels, webinar funnels, tripwire funnel, etc. This is extremely helpful and makes it much easier for you to get rolling on building out your funnel.

The templates are also pretty nice, although many of them do look quite similar to each other, in my opinion. That being said, they are simple customize.

ClickFunnels funnel templates


ClickFunnels also lets you host webinars, which can be a great tool to sell your products. That being said, it doesn’t let you host pre-recorded webinars without a third party integration. Still, it’s a pretty useful tool to have, nonetheless.

It’s also nice to have the webinar feature on the same platform as most of your other tools, as it makes the communication between apps more fluid. ClickFunnels also has a lot of templates for webinar funnels, alongside some solid educational material.

Membership Sites

ClickFunnels’ next core feature is the membership site feature.

This will, of course, be useful if you are looking to create a course. The membership site builder is decent and gives you quite a few useful tools. For example, you have the option to make the content drip-feed or create multiple access levels, which is nice.

However, their membership site builder isn’t flawless, and does have its limitations. For example, it doesn’t have any video hosting built-in, nor does it have any dedicated analytics. Additionally, the customization isn’t the best either.

Still, it’s quite cool that ClickFunnels offers this feature already baked in. It’s also not uncommon for ClickFunnels users’ to use a 3rd party tool like Kajabi or Teachable for their members’ areas.

Affiliate Management

ClickFunnels also has a built-in affiliate management tool.

Again, here it’s nice that it’s built-in to the platform and that it has the basics that you would need in an affiliate management tool. However, the reporting is minimal, and you really don’t get a lot of detail, which makes managing the affiliates a little harder.

Still, it will let you create a basic affiliate program, and you can set up commissions for every product/funnel step. Bear in mind though, if you want to use this feature then you will need to upgrade to the ClickFunnels Platinum plan, as it’s not available on the Standard plan. (see pricing below)

Email marketing (Follow-Up Funnels)

One thing that I also like about ClickFunnels is that it has its own email autoresponder built-in. This feature is known as Follow-Up Funnels. It’s pretty decent, as it lets you build automation sequences, send out your newsletters, and it also gives you some nice info about your subscribers too.

You can also send transactional emails, which is nice too, as many other email marketing tools don’t allow this, or only offer it on their highest plans. Having said that, Follow-Up Funnels is also only available on the ClickFunnels Platinum plan.

Overall, ClickFunnels’ email marketing tool is pretty good and should suffice for a lot of users. However, I can also see some marketers preferring a dedicated tool, like SendLane or GetResponse, for their email marketing needs.

Educational Material and Community

Finally, ClickFunnels comes with some fantastic educational material and a massive community.

For example, the Funnel Hack-A-Thon are weekly live group coaching webinars where the ClickFunnels team teaches how to build funnels. There is also FunnelFlix, a library of educational material on topics related to funnels and internet marketing.

SamCart doesn’t have anything that compares to this. Plus, ClickFunnels has a much bigger community, thanks to its popularity. The Facebook group alone has over 248,000 members.

What ClickFunnels Has That SamCart Does Not Have
