Free Affiliate Marketing Tools You Should Use

Looking for some awesome free tools for affiliate marketing?

Here I’m going to share with you some of the tools I use in my affiliate marketing business that I don’t pay a penny for.

Well, some of them I have upgraded to a paid plan because they’re so frickin’ awesome, but most of these I have used for years without paying anything!

Let’s get to it.

All-In-One Marketing Tools

I’ll start off my list of free affiliate marketing tools with a couple of all-in-one marketing software platforms. Surprisingly, you can get access to these completely free of charge.

Systeme.io

Systeme.io is like the Swiss Army knife of online business platforms! It’s like having a superhero sidekick who can do everything for you, except wear spandex. And trust me, no one wants to see that.

And the best part, Systeme.io also has a completely free lifetime plan!

In a nutshell, Systeme.io is an all-in-one business platform that lets you create and run your entire online business without having to juggle a bunch of different tools and services.

Think website builder, email marketing, sales funnels, membership sites, and more, all under one roof. It’s like having a personal assistant who is a jack of all trades and a master of all of them too.

GetResponse

GetResponse is an email automation tool that has evolved now into an all-in-one marketing platform.

At the heart of GetResponse are the email automation features, but you can now also use GetResponse to host websites, build sales funnels, landing pages, and even a website.

GetResponse is an awesome tool for capturing new leads and building your list, and it even allows you to use push notifications and SMS marketing.

GetResponse has a free plan that allows you to have up to 500 email subscribers. On the free plan, you can use the email autoresponder feature as well as the website builder, and create 1 landing page.

That’s not bad for free!

Email Marketing Tools

If you’re running an affiliate marketing business, then you need to be careful about which autoresponder company you sign up with. Unfortunately, a lot of them are not affiliate friendly, and they’ll shut you down if they detect affiliate links in your emails.

In particular, stay away from MailChimp and MailerLite if you’re an affiliate, but there are also others that don’t like the affiliate marketing model.

Technically, GetResponse is an email autoresponder, but since it’s morphed into an all-in-one tool I have included it in the section above.

Aweber

Aweber is one of the biggest names in email marketing software and has been in the game since 1998. They’re an affiliate-friendly email automation platform with great deliverability rates and excellent customer support.

On the Aweber free account, you can have up to 500 subscribers, create landing pages, use web-push notifications, and access their database of email templates.

I’ve been using Aweber myself for years and I highly recommend them.

Data Storage Tools

If you’re going to take your affiliate business seriously, then you’ll want a place to store all your important docs.

DropBox

DropBox is a cloud-based file storage tool that lets you store, organize and share your files easily. DropBox allows users to upload files up to 1GB in size and synchronize them across multiple computers or mobile devices. It also has an app available on iOS and Android phones which makes it easy to access your files from anywhere.

I use DropBox to store all my important work-related files and to store website backup files of all my sites.

If you have multiple WordPress websites (or even just one website), then you can use a free WordPress plugin called UpDraftPlus to automatically take daily or weekly backups of your sites, and then send those files to be stored securely in your DropBox account.

Design Tools

Canva

Canva is an online graphic design tool that helps you make professional-looking images quickly and easily.

You can use Canva to create all kinds of cool images and graphics, including social media content, ads, blog post images, infographics, and more.

Using Canva is super simple. All you need to do is drag and drop photos, text, shapes, frames, backgrounds, illustrations, videos, etc, onto your canvas. Then, choose how you’d like your image to look by adjusting its color, brightness, contrast, and shadows. And when you’re done designing, click “Create” to preview your masterpiece.

Canva has a completely free plan that gives you access to quite a few useful features. But if you want access to more templates and unlimited stock photos, then you can upgrade to pro for just $12.99 per month, which is definitely worth it in my opinion.

Remove.bg

If you’re not using Canva pro, but you still need to remove pesky backgrounds from images, then you can get this done in under 10 seconds by using remove.bg for free.

Simply drag-and-drop your image into remove.bg, and the tool will strip out the background for you.

This is a pretty cool free resource and does a good job with most images. But be warned, some images just won’t come out all that well. If that’s the case then you’ll need to use a tool like Canva pro, but give remove.bg a try first, because it might be all you need.

SmartMockUps

SmartMockUps is a really useful tool you can use to create professional-looking product mockups on the fly.

You won’t have to worry about learning PhotoShop if you use SmartMockUps, because it’ll do most of the design work for you.

Here are a few things you can do with SmartMockUps:

• Create eBook covers
• Create eCovers for products
• Prints for t-shirts, mugs, bags, etc
• Social media covers
• Designs for packaging

SmartMockUps has a free plan, which is great if you’re just starting out, or if you’re only looking for simple designs. If you want to unlock the full range of templates, then just $9 per month will get you there.

I’ve paid for SmartMockUps on a monthly basis a few times in the past when I needed more professional-looking designs. When I do this, I use it for a month or two, get all the designs I need, and then cancel my subscription.

Research Tools

Good research is at the heart of successful affiliate marketing. Here are a few free tools that will help you.

Answer The Public

Answer The Public is a free keyword research tool that allows you to find answers to questions related to any topic. It’s similar to Google, except instead of searching through pages of results, you enter a primary topic, and get backlists of keywords related to that topic.

Answer The Public will also give you a list of questions that people are asking online about that particular topic. It’s super-useful info and can go a long way to helping you with your marketing campaigns.

Google Trends

Google Trends is an interesting little tool that shows what searches are trending right now across different countries around the world.

It’s a great way to see what topics are popular at any given time, and where people are interested in going next. This information could prove invaluable if you’re trying to decide what content ideas to write about next, or which niche to target.

SimilarWeb

SimilarWeb is a competitive analysis tool that helps you understand how much traffic various websites are getting.

Using their own algorithms, this spy tool can calculate the percentage of unique visitors each site receives, as well as the average time spent on each page. They can even show you where your competitors are advertising online, and which channels are working best for them.

The data they provide is comprehensive, so you can quickly see exactly what your competition is up to, and tap into a few of their strategies yourself.

SimilarWeb, of course, has a paid plan that will allow you to access for mare detailed information on your competitors. However, you can also access quite a bit of useful info without paying any money over at all.

Writing Tools

Writing is an important part of digital marketing for many affiliates, especially if you’re a blogger. Here are a few free tools to help you.

Grammarly

Grammarly is a grammar checker app that checks every sentence you type against a huge database of common mistakes.

If you often make some grammatical errors, then this tool will be invaluable to you. While you’re writing, Grammarly will flag up grammar and spelling issues and let you know what needs correcting.

If you don’t speak English as your first language, then this tool is also a must-have.

Grammarly has a free account, which will check all your spelling, grammar, and punctuation. Grammarly also has a free Google Chrome extension, so if you’re logged in to your free Grammarly account, but you’re working on a different content editor like WordPress or Google Docs, then Grammarly will be able to correct any errors you make there too. Super-useful!

Rytr

Writing a lot of content can be time-consuming and draining, especially if you don’t enjoy doing it. One alternative is to pay writers to do the leg work for you. But this can get expensive very quickly, especially if you need top notch writers.

Fortunately, there are now a number of AI writing tools on the market that can help you out with all your content production needs. While most of them require a paid account, Rytr is the only one I have come across so far that has a free plan.

Rytr will help you write blog posts, social media posts, Facebook ads, product descriptions, YouTube descriptions, etc, a hell of a lot faster.

Video Tools

Many affiliates choose to produce videos for platforms like YouTube TikTok as part of their marketing strategy. And for this, you’re gonna need screen and webcam recording software. Here are a few free recommendations you can use.

InVideo

Are you ready to step up your video game? If so, let me introduce you to InVideo.io. It’s a user-friendly video creation platform that makes it fast, fun, and enjoyable to create videos.

Basically, InVideo allows you to create stunning videos in a jiffy. It has an easy-to-use interface to help you create all kinds of videos, be it for business or personal use. It’s a perfect free video creation platform to create promotional videos and tutorials for your website, social media posts, and YouTube.

Anyone who wants to make their video content more engaging and visually appealing can benefit from this platform.

InVideo.io offers a free plan that allows you to create up to 40 minutes in length, and you can also use up to 6,000 templates for free.

Loom

What is Loom? Loom is a video editing app that allows you to create professional-quality videos in just a few minutes. It’s super easy to use, and if you’re on a tight budget then it’s a great option to help you get started.

Bear in mind, on the free plan of Loom you can only create videos of up to 5 minutes in length. If you want to record longer videos, then you can upgrade for $8 per month if paying annually.

If you’re like me and you prefer to pay a one-off payment for software and get lifetime access, then I recommend you use Camtasia Studio. Camtasia was originally designed for PC, but they now have a Mac version, which is what I use.

ScreenCastify

ScreenCastify is a screen recorder and live streaming platform. You can use Screencastify to record presentations, demos, tutorials, and more. It’s perfect for creating short training courses and demos. However, you can also upload your videos to social media platforms like YouTube for affiliate marketing purposes.

While ScreenCastify does offer a free version, like Loom, it’s limited to only recording 5 minute videos. However, there is a simple editing function you can use to make small edits to your videos if necessary.

Other Useful Tools

Here are a few more free affiliate marketing tools that can help you as you build your online business.

NitroPack

What is NitroPack? NitroPack is a super-powerful content delivery network (CDN) to help improve the speed and performance of your website.

Google made several changes to their algorithm over the recent years, and now prioritize websites with faster page load speeds in their index.

Google places a lot of emphasis on user experience, so if your site visitors need to wait for your pages to load, then you’re going to struggle to get your website to the top of the search results. Another thing to be aware of is that studies have shown time and again that page load speed directly impacts website conversions.

To put this into perspective, according to this article, for every second your page loads faster, your conversion rate can increase by as much as 17%.

While the paid plans of NitroPack are not cheap, if you have a very small site, or if you’re site is just starting out, then you can use NitroPack for free if you’re getting less than 5,000 page views per month.

Affiliatable

Affiliatable is a clever little WordPress plugin that will help you to create beautiful-looking tables, product boxes, comparison boxes, pros and cons charts, and more.

Not only do the tables make your website look more professional, they also increase your conversion rate too. Having these kinds of tables and boxes on your site help to break up your articles making them easier to read.

Most importantly, the tables help to tell your visitors exactly what they need to know about the products you’re reviewing, which increases the likelihood that they’ll click your affiliate link and make a purchase.

I liked Affiliatable so much I upgraded to the Pro-Infinite plan, which is a one-time payment for lifetime access. I made my money back on it in about a week, so it was definitely a worthwhile investment for me.

As far as free affiliate marketing tools go, this is one of my favourites.

Funnelytics

Funnelytics is a funnel-building tool that allows you to plan out your funnels as you build them. This makes it easier for you to optimize your funnels for conversions and plan a solid marketing strategy.

It’s a visual, online tool that’s easy to use. By planning out your funnels with Funnelytics, you can clearly see all the steps a person will take through your funnel, and then optimize accordingly.

UpTime Robot

If you have a website, then you probably expect that it’s up 100% of the time, ready to receive site visitors. Unfortunately, that’s not the case, even if you’re with one of the top hosting companies.

Even the more expensive hosting companies like WPX, Kinsta, and WP Engine don’t guarantee an uptime of 100%. This is just not possible, although the better hosting companies will certainly be able to keep your site live for the majority of the time.

But if you’re with a cheaper hosting provider, then up time can be a real issue for you, and it can cost you big time by missed revenue.

A few years ago I moved a website over to HostMonster, and I started to notice that the sire revenue was gradually decreasing from where it was before. I came across the UpTime Robot tool, which monitors your website and lets you know if it goes offline.

I was shocked when I started receiving emails several times a week from UpTime Robot telling me that my site was down, sometimes for 30-45 minutes at a time!

If this is happening to you and you don’t know about it, then you could be losing out on a lot of money.

UpTime Robot has a free plan that will allow you to monitor up to 50 websites. The free version will scan your site every 5 minutes and ping you an email if it goes down. It’ll also let you know when the site is live again, so you can track to the second when it was offline and for how long.

LuckyOrange

LuckyOrange is one of my favorite free affiliate marketing tools. It’s a powerful tool to help you understand your site visitors and improve your conversions through heatmap technology.

LuckyOrange’s dashboard is easy to use and can reveal quite a lot of info about your site visitors. You can use it to discover exactly which links your visitors are clicking, at what point in your article they are leaving your site, which features on your site they are interacting with the most, etc.

LuckyOrange does have a free plan for those who only have a small amount of traffic (500 page views per month). If your site gets more traffic than this, don’t worry, LuckyOrange pricing is very reasonable starting at just $10 per month for 25,000 page views.

Considering the amount of valuable information you can get by using an online tool like this, it’s highly worth it.
