If you’re an infopreneur then you already know how important it is to use good, reliable software to promote your online business while keeping your costs low.
Unfortunately, software that allows you to build a sales funnel complete with upsells, downsells, and order bumps, and a high-converting shopping cart is not cheap.
Slap on an affiliate software to help you recruit affiliates to sell for you, and you’re looking at paying hundreds of dollars per month. ($297 per month if you use the industry leader).
Fortunately, there is, not only a cheaper option, there’s a completely free alternative – GrooveSell.
This new addition to the marketing software world created by an industry leader, Mike Filsaime, is already taking the internet by storm.
But is it any good?
Here in my GrooveSell review, I tell you everything you need to know about the platform.
GrooveSell Review: What Is GrooveSell?
GrooveSell is an app for building checkout pages and processing payments online.
It has been created specifically to sell digital products such as courses, eBooks, consulting services, and access to members’ areas.
GrooveSell is housed inside the GrooveFunnels marketing software suite. You can use it to set up product and sales funnels, complete with upsell pages and order bumps at checkout.
What I particularly like about GrooveSell is that you can also manage all your customer information from within the app, which makes it super-easy for you to monitor your sales.
Free GrooveSell Account
As I mentioned earlier, GrooveSell is part of GrooveFunnels. There is currently a free GrooveFunnels lifetime account which comes with access to all the GrooveFunnels apps, including GrooveSell.
This means you’ll be able to access features like:
- GrooveSell – create checkout pages, upsell, downsell pages, thank you page, order bumps, take payments, etc
- GroovePages – create landing pages, sales funnels, even a full website
- GrooveAffiliate – recruit affiliates to promote your products for you
- GrooveMember – build membership sites
- GrooveMail – email autoresponder – free for up to 500 contacts
At the moment, you can get a free GrooveFunnels account with no monthly fees attached. This account will allow you to do all of the above.
Why Is GrooveSell Free?
Since the beta launch of GrooveFunnels in April 2020, Groove Digital CEO, Mike Filsaime, along with the other GrooveFunnels founders, wanted to help businesses through the COVID-19 crisis.
They decided to offer a free-for-life plan, which includes some of the most popular GrooveFunnels apps; GrooveSell, GroovePages, and GrooveAffiliate.
If you want to know about the other apps that are available with GrooveFunnels then you can see my in-depth GrooveFunnels review here.

GrooveSell Key Features
Besides being able to create free product funnels, GrooveSell has a number of cool features.
It’s important to be aware that GrooveSell has a multi-functional dashboard that actually allows you to switch between your vendor dashboard (used to sell your own products) and the affiliate dashboard (used to monitor your sales as an affiliate).
Multi-Functional Dashboard
So, once you first log in to GrooveSell, you will, by default, land on the Vendor dashboard.
You can easily switch to the Affiliate dashboard by clicking the ‘Vendor” icon at the top left of your account. Here’s a screenshot below to help you.
Each dashboard has similar, but slightly different features, which I will explain below.
GrooveSell Vendor Dashboard Features
I will now tell you about the different features you will find inside the 2 dashboards it comes with.
Product Funnels
To sell anything using GrooveSell, you first need to set up a product funnel. It’s easy to do and there is an 11-step set-up wizard inside your account that walks you through the funnel builder.
You can add as many or as few steps as you like inside your sales funnel using the Groove page builder.
As you can see in the screenshot above, here is the place where you will set up your landing page, order form, checkout page, upsell and downsell pages, and order bumps.
GrooveSell also provides shopping cart software for you to set up a professional shopping experience for your customers.
Affiliate Management
This is the area where you can create an affiliate program for your products and upload assets and tools for your affiliates to use.
Amazingly, this affiliate software feature is completely free!
To put this into perspective, if you’re using ClickFunnels to manage your affiliate program then you will need to upgrade to the Platinum account and pay $297 per month.
When it comes to Kartra’s prices, the cheapest you can run an affiliate program for is $99 per month.
GrooveSell provides you with a decent amount of reporting info on your affiliates. You can monitor things like:
- Name of affiliate
- Which products they are promoting
- Number of impressions and clicks they are sending
- Earned and pending commissions
- Their payment history info
Customers
This section is where you can see all your customers listed along with any info you have collected on them, such as their name, email address, phone number, etc.
Reporting
This is the analytics section of the GrooveSell vendor account.
In this section, you will be able to monitor all your customer’s transaction history, including successful and failed transactions, which products they purchased, on which dates, etc.
You can also download your customer info in a CSV file, which is useful for a number of reasons.
Tools
In the ‘Tools’ section, you can create coupons and tracking links, and also create your checkout forms.
I was really impressed with the level of tracking that you can do with GrooveSell, as it’s much more detailed than most other platforms I’ve used before.
You can really dial down on conversion goals so you can see not only where your sales are coming from, but what actions the person took inside your funnel.
Marketplace
The ‘Marketplace’ is a new addition to the Vendor dashboard. It gives you access to tons of affiliate programs of other GrooveFunnels users.
Why is this helpful?
You can check the affiliate marketplace to see if there are any products that are relevant to your niche that your audience may also be interested in.
You can then choose to promote them alongside your own products in your funnel by offering them as an upsell or downsell to your own product if you do not yet have your own upsell products created.
This can help you to earn more money in your funnel by also promoting other people’s products alongside your own.
GrooveSell Affiliate Dashboard Features
Now let’s take a closer look at the GrooveSell affiliate dashboard.
If you do affiliate marketing then this is the dashboard you use if you are promoting GrooveFunnels or any other product that is found on the Groove marketplace.
Some of the sections of the affiliate dashboard are either the same as the vendor’s dashboard, or they look the same. I’ve included screenshots of the ones that are different, below.
Affiliate & Home Icons
These two icons are basically the same thing and bring you to the main affiliate dashboard area.
When you first log in to this dashboard, this is the page you will land on.
Promos
The promos area lists your active promotions and gives you a snapshot of how many impressions and visitors you have sent to different offers, as well as the number of sign-ups and conversions.
The snapshot will show your total affiliate commissions earned for each promotion to date.
Bonuses
When I first had a look around this dashboard I was very impressed to see that it also has a ‘my bonuses’ section.
This is where you can upload your own bonuses that you might be used to offer as an incentive for people signing up through your link.
Once in the system, you can set it up to auto-deliver your bonuses upon signup or conversion, which is pretty sweet.
Reporting
The reporting section houses detailed info on your affiliate activity.
Besides giving more detailed info on impressions and unique visits by date, it also lists every person you have either signed up for a free trial or made a purchase through your link.
You can see info such as the person’s name, the date they signed up if they have successfully made a purchase, how much commission you received, if you have someone on your tier-two who may also benefit from the sale, etc.
Tools
The ‘tools’ icon brings you directly to the place where you can set up unique tracking IDs.
Using this feature allows you to monitor exactly how successful your campaigns are, and what you should be putting the most effort into.
Marketplace
The Marketplace is where you can find other products to promote that may go along well with your current offerings.
The affiliate marketplace is organized by niche, so you can browse to find suitable products that your audience might like.
If you have made your own products then you can also list your sales page for them here for other affiliates to promote for you.
GrooveSell Pricing
As I have already mentioned, GrooveSell is free!
We’re not sure how long it will be free for, but at the moment you can get the free lifetime account with no monthly fees, which comes with all the core GrooveFunnels apps including GrooveSell.
There will be some resource limits on your account as you’re not paying anything for it. But if you want to use GrooveSell completely unlimited as well as all the other Groove apps, then you can see my guide on the cost of GrooveFunnels here.
If you sign up now, then you will get these apps for free and never have to pay for these accounts.
You can use these 3 apps by themselves, or in combination with each other. Here are a few things you can do with them:
- Build up to 3 fully-functional websites (GroovePages Lite)
- Set up landing pages (GroovePages Lite)
- Sell products and services, coaching sessions, etc (GrooveSell)
- Recruit affiliates to sell for you (GrooveAffiliate)
You can get GrooveSell for free by signing up here.
GrooveSell Alternatives
GrooveSell is one of the latest alternatives to other platforms like SamCart and ThriveCart.
On the free plan, you can use GrooveSell, GroovePages, and GrooveAffiliate, which is a powerful combination. In fact, this combo can give other alternative platforms a run for their money, including the industry leader, ClickFunnels.
When you consider all the additional apps and features you get when you upgrade to the GrooveFunnels Platinum marketing suite, other alternative platforms just can’t offer as much value for money.
This also goes for Kartra, which is the closest alternative to GrooveFunnels by way of feature offerings.
Having said that, GrooveSell and GrooveFunnels are by no means perfect. It only launched in 2020, so there are still some bugs to iron out.
Most features are live, but a few are still in beta as the Groove Digital team is working around the clock to get them all fully operational.
If you can’t wait and you need to get started right now with a completely rolled out system that has a feature list comparable to GrooveFunnels, then my recommended alternative option is Kartra. However, Kartra does not have a free account.
If you need something more simple that offers the same features as GrooveSell at a good price then I would say SamCart is the one to go for. However, GrooveSell is fully operational and ready for you to use for free.
Here’s a pricing breakdown of the top GrooveSell alternatives:
SamCart
- Starting at $49 per month
Kartra
- Starting at $99 per month

ThriveCart
- One time price of $495
ClickFunnels

GrooveSell FAQ’s
If you’ve read this far and you still have some questions, there here are the most commonly asked questions about the free GrooveSell platform.
Is GrooveSell Easy To Use?
Yes, the GrooveSell shopping cart software is easy to use. It has an intuitive user-friendly dashboard that is easy to navigate.
There are also lots of GrooveSell training videos on YouTube created by the Groove Digital team that shows you exactly how to do things like setting up your product funnel, step-by-step.
Can You Sell Physical Products With GrooveSell?
No, GrooveSell is designed to sell digital products. If you want to sell physical products then you will need to use the GrooveKart app, which is also a GrooveFunnels app.
You can get this app for free when you sign up for a GrooveFunnels account.
What Payment Gateways Does GrooveSell Support?
You can integrate with world-class payment processors like PayPal, Stripe, AuthNet, Braintree, and NMI to take credit card payments, and more options are coming soon.
What’s The Difference Between GrooveSell and GrooveKart?
Both the GrooveSell and GrooveKart apps are a part of the GrooveFunnels marketing suite.
GrooveKart has been created for eCommerce owners. It is great for selling physical products, or if you sell multiple products that have multiple product variants.
With GrooveSell you can create a sales page, product funnel, and checkout page to sell your products.
It is great for selling products like eBooks, videos, coaching sessions, etc, that are either stand-alone products or that come with a few upsell and downsell options.
Are There Any GrooveSell Hidden Fees?
Nope. GrooveSell is free to use, and they do not take a cut of your profits, or charge you transaction fees. You will need to integrate GrooveSell with one of the above payment processors, such as PayPal, or Stripe.
These payment processors will, of course, have their own transaction fees, but GrooveSell will not charge you anything per transaction.
Is There An Affiliate Program?
Yes, GrooveSell and GrooveFunnels have one of the best affiliate programs around. You can sign up here to be an affiliate, or read my in-depth GrooveFunnels affiliate program review here to find out more.
Can You Use Custom Domains With GrooveSell?
Yes, you can use your own custom domain when using GrooveSell in order to professionally brand all your pages.
What Is GroveSell Payments?
GrooveSell Payments is a cool option available for members. Sometimes payment gateways like Stripe or PayPal can get funny with small vendors and may occasionally shut them down. This is more so the case if the vendor starts to do a lot of transactions.
If you’re worried about this then you can use use the GrooveSell Payments option, which means GrooveSell will then take the payments for you. They will handle all the transactions including your affiliate payments, tax, and accounting.
Since Groove Digital is a large, trusted company, payment processors like PayPal and Stripe will view them as more trusted, and less likely to shut you down.
My Final Thoughts
If you’re looking to sell digital products like eBooks, videos, courses, or coaching sessions then GrooveSell is a great option for you.
Being a completely free platform, GrooveSell is quickly becoming one of the most popular sales funnel and checkout platforms for entrepreneurs.
Being a user of GrooveSell myself, I can personally say it is a great platform with a lot of awesome features. I don’t think any other platform out there offers a sales funnel builder, affiliate management dashboard, and website builder for free.
If all this sounds good to you then I encourage you not to wait to sign up. We don’t know how long GrooveSell will be free, but if you act now, you can get lifetime access with all these features and never have to pay a dime!
