The Lowdown On The Best Autoresponders For Affiliate Marketing
Now, onto the juicy bits.
Here’s the lowdown, the good, the bad, and the ugly of the top 9 affiliate-friendly email marketing solutions you should choose from.
GetResponse
Our first affiliate-friendly autoresponder is GetResponse. In fact, GetResponse, in my opinion, is the best autoresponder for affiliate marketing. I’m personally using GetResponse in my business at the moment and I love it.
GetResponse is one of the most popular email autoresponder platforms out there, with more than 100,000 customers at the time of writing this article.
It has a free plan for up to 500 subs, which is great for beginner affiliate marketers. And when you need to move up to a paid plan, they start at just $9 per month.
You’ll have limited features on the lower-priced plan, but you’ll still benefit from excellent deliverability rates, great automation capabilities, and even the use of the landing page and sales funnel creator app.
GetResponse started as an email autoresponder tool, but it has grown much more over the years. Now, GetResponse is more like an all-in-one marketing suite. This is because you can also use it to build sales funnels, landing pages, and even a website!
Besides this, GetResponse also has a live chat function, a webinar feature, and also gives you the ability to collect leads on various social media platforms too.
Needless to say, it’s a pretty powerful piece of software.
One thing I particularly like about GetResponse is how intuitive the user interface is. It’s just so easy to use it’s actually a joy to work with.
And tech support is always available on live chat too in case you need help. In my experience, they always answer the chat within a minute or two.
If your website is hosted on WordPress then there is a GetResponse plugin you can use. This will easily allow you to integrate your WordPress site with GetResponse to collect leads. You can also use the plugin to hook up your GetResponse landing pages to WordPress.

AWeber
AWeber is also a long-time player, being around since 1999. I am also currently using Aweber for another part of my business. What I particularly like about this platform is its ease of use and excellent deliverability.
Aweber is one of the most popular email autoresponder services mainly because it’s easy to use, the pricing is very reasonable, and they have good customer service.
Aweber is another one of the best autoresponders for affiliate marketing, so you shouldn’t have a problem using them. I have used Aweber for a few years as an affiliate and I have always been happy with them.
Aweber is a trusted brand and has great deliverability rates. The user interface, although a little outdated for some apps, is intuitive and easy to use. Personally, I find it a fast platform to work with to get my campaigns set up.
If you’ve ever migrated from one autoresponder to another then you know it can be a pain. However, if you’re migrating to Aweber then they will migrate your entire account for you, free of charge. This includes all your email lists, tags, autoresponder sequences, and landing pages.
One thing I particularly like about this company is that Aweber engineers are constantly updating and improving their software. They are always looking to improve things like deliverability, ease of use, and adding new features.
If your website is hosted on WordPress then there is an Aweber plugin you can use. This will easily allow you to integrate your WordPress site with Aweber to collect leads. You can also use the plugin to hook up your landing pages to your WordPress site.
One of Aweber’s newer features includes web push notifications, which may also attract you to choose Aweber over some of the other autoresponders on this page.
Besides the regular features that you would expect, such as its automation capabilities, sign-up forms, and a drag-and-drop email template builder, segmentation, and tagging, Aweber also has a few other cool features. These include a landing page builder, a free Canva integration to help you with design, eCommerce pages, and web push notifications.
Aweber has a free-for-life account (up to 500 subs), and its paid plans start at $16.15 per month, which isn’t bad.
Aweber Features

- The split-testing feature is not available on the free plan

Systeme.io
Systeme.io is a powerful, all-encompassing marketing platform designed to streamline the online business process, making it an ideal tool for affiliate marketers.
If you’ve seen my YouTube channel, then you’ll know that I also use Systeme.io extensively in my business. I first started using this platform for the funnel and landing page builder. I have also personally tested out Systeme.io’s email marketing feature and it’s pretty damn good.
Sure, Systeme.io’s email marketing is not as powerful as the likes of Aweber of GetResponse, and it doesn’t have as many automation features, but it’s very easy to use, and I’ve personally been achieving excellent deliverability, which surprised me since Systeme.io is not first and foremost an email marketing platform.
So, because of this, I currently have several email automations set up and running to promote affiliate offers with Systeme.io and they’re running great.
Founded by Aurelian Amacker, who successfully merged affiliate marketing with blogging to start his online business, Systeme.io understands the unique needs of affiliate marketers. It simplifies the creation and automation of email marketing campaigns, making it easier for marketers to sell affiliate products effectively.
So, Aurelian’s expertise in affiliate marketing ensures that Systeme.io is equipped with the necessary tools to support affiliate marketers in promoting products and automating their marketing efforts.
With Systeme.io, affiliate marketers can leverage a variety of features to enhance their campaigns. The platform’s email marketing and automation tools are particularly noteworthy.
They allow users to send unlimited emails, create targeted campaigns, and automate responses based on customer actions. This is a game-changer for affiliate marketers looking to optimize their sales funnel and increase conversion rates without overwhelming their schedule.
Systeme.io Features
- Unlimited email sends
- Email campaign creation
- Sales funnel builder
- Landing pages
- Website builder and blogging platform
- Course and membership ship site creator
- Affiliate program management

Systeme.io Pros and Cons
Pros:
- Excellent affiliate marketing

How Much Does Systeme.io Cost?
Systeme.io has a completely free for life plan with very generous usage limits.
Not only does the free plan allow you to use all Systeme.io features (except the webinar feature), it also allows you to have up to 2,000 email contacts with unlimited email sending. And, you don’t even need to enter your credit card to use the free plan, which I was surprised about.
Free Plan: $0/month
- 2,000 contacts, unlimited emails, 3 sales funnels, 1 blog, 1 course
Startup Plan: $27/month
- 5,000 contacts, unlimited emails, 10 sales funnels, 5 blogs, 5 courses
Webinar Plan: $47/month
- 10,000 contacts, unlimited emails, 30 sales funnels, 20 blogs, 20 courses
Unlimited Plan: $97/month
- Unlimited contacts, emails, sales funnels, blogs, and courses
Systeme.io Deals
For paid plans, Systeme.io has a few deals you can take advantage of:
That being said, if you’re new to Systeme.io then I recommend you try the free plan first to make sure you like the platform and it suits your business needs before opting for one of the higher, paid plans.
Sendlane
SendLane is a somewhat newer autoresponder and has been in the game since 2012.
SendLane has recently become a very popular email marketing platform, mainly due to its outstanding deliverability rates, and advanced segmentation feature.
While several big autoresponder companies are adding more features that go beyond the scope of traditional email marketing, SendLane has remained lean on added extras, but instead has packed on the muscle when it comes to pure email marketing features.
I think this is one of the reasons they have really started to stand out as one of the best platforms out there for deliverability.
What I like best about SendLane is, of course, its impeccable deliverability, and also its ROI and conversion tracking function. This makes it particularly handy to see how effectively your campaigns are impacting your bottom line.
While SendLane is a great autoresponder, they are also quite expensive. If your affiliate business is already rocking and rolling then you may want to consider this one. However, if you’re just getting started then I’d advise you to choose a more affordable option like Aweber or GetResponse.
SendLane Features
- Behavior-based automation
- Trigger-based automation
- Event-based automation
- Segmentation
- Tagging
- Split testing
- Drag-and-drop visual builder
- Email templates
- Popups and forms
- Advanced analytics
- Automation funnels
- Unlimited sender profiles

- ROI and conversion tracking

If you want to try SendLane then you get a 14-day free trial. After that, you’ll need to move onto a paid plan if you want to keep using their email software.
At this point, you will have 3 options:
Option 1: Take the SendLane Starter Pack deal – $497 for 6 months
Option 2: Pay $83 per month for up to 5,000 subscribers
Option 3: Pay $208 per month if you need to support up to 10,000 subscribers
Plans then increase based on the number of subscribers you have in your account. See SendLane’s full pricing here.
Kartra Mail
Kartra Mail is a powerful email automation feature inside the Kartra all-in-one marketing software tool.
Kartra is not first and foremost an email marketing platform. However, it has a lot of great features, and it’s affiliate-friendly too.
I know several affiliates who use Kartra Mail, and they rate it as a great autoresponder for affiliate marketers.

How Much Does Kartra Cost?
Kartra has 4 pricing plans. One thing I particularly like about this tool is that you get all features (besides Agency) regardless of which plan you’re on. This means you can also use Kartra Mail on the lowest-priced plan, which is $99 per month.
One thing to be aware of if you’re using Kartra Mail is that you get up to 2,500 subscribers, and can send up to 15,000 emails per month on the Starter Plan at $99 per month. If you go over your limit then you will need to upgrade to one of the higher-priced plans. Please see below:

Drip
When it comes to autoresponders, Drip is another popular option, especially for eCommerce people. They’re relatively new to the industry since they launched in 2013.
While they do specialize in solutions for eCommerce businesses, they are also affiliated marketing-friendly too.
Besides the regular features that autoresponder services come with, Drip also has great automation and customized SMS workflows that you can leverage.
While Drip may not have as many features as its competitors, its robust features make it a great choice for a lot of small businesses.
If you’re interested to give Drip a go, it has a 14-day free trial period. While this isn’t very long, it should give you enough time to tinker around and decide if it’s right for you. I haven’t used this email marketing software platform myself, but I have heard Drip is very easy to use.
Like most email software, it comes with customizable templates, which are really handy for beginners to email marketing.
Drip Features
Here are the features you get if you decide to use Drip:

MooSend
MooSend is a fairly new player in the email marketing space that has quickly gained momentum. This tool makes email automation easy by automating common email marketing tasks.
MooSend has good segmentation capabilities, which can help you deliver a more personalized message to your audience.
Besides the regular features you expect to find in an autoresponder, MooSend also has additional features such as landing pages and CRM tools. MooSend is an easy-to-use platform with some of the lowest prices in the email marketing industry.
For example, MooSend has a completely free plan for up to 1,000 subscribers, which is pretty generous. Then, if you need to move over to a paid plan, pricing starts at just $8 per month. Because of this, MooSend can be a great choice for beginner affiliate marketers who are operating on a tight budget.
Although I have used most autoresponders in this article, MooSend is one I have not personally used myself, so I am basing this on research. I also contacted the company to confirm if they are definitely affiliate-friendly.
They confirmed that they are not going to shut anyone down for using affiliate links in emails. That’s a good start. They confirmed that they understand the affiliate marketing model, and are okay with affiliates using their platform.
They said they may like to check some affiliate campaigns, but as long as the customer is following email marketing best practices then there won’t be a problem.
MooSend Features
- Email automation
- Newsletter editor
- Personalization
- Segmentation
- CRM tools
- Popups
- Landing pages
- Subscription forms
- Integrates with WordPress
- eCommerce AI
- Product recommendation tool
- Tracking
- Analytics
- Custom reporting
MooSend Pros and Cons
Here are the pros and cons of using the MooSend autoresponder:

MooSend Cons:

How Much Does MooSend Cost?
One of the biggest draws to MooSend for new marketers is that they give you a generous 1,000 subscriber limit on the free plan, and not too many feature restrictions.
Plans start very low at just $8 per month, which will take you up to 2,499 subs. Pricing increases from there based on your subscriber count.
If you want more details on MooSend costs, then you can check out their pricing page here.

EmailOctopus
Email Octopus is an autoresponder that not a lot of people have heard of, yet they serve over 50,000 customers, which is impressive since they’ve only been around since 2014.
This email marketing company boldly has a page here dedicated to attracting affiliates to use their software. So, there’s no doubt that this company is friendly towards affiliates.
A lot of customers report that the EmailOctopus platform is easy to use and offers a reliable service. Reporting and analytics are also said to be good too.
EmailOctopus has the most generous free plan for email marketing I have seen so far – up to 2,500 contacts! You can also send up to 10,000 emails per month. However, your emails will include the EmailOctopus branding, unless you opt for a paid plan, which starts at $24 per month for 5,000 subs. Not bad!
Like SendLane, EmailOctopus has kept its features lean, focusing its efforts strictly on email marketing.
All in all, I think EmailOctopus is one of the best autoresponders for affiliate marketing for beginners.
EmailOctopus Features
- Drag-and-drop editor
- Sign up forms

How To Choose The Best Autoresponder For Affiliate Marketing?
Before we get into the bad and the good autoresponders for affiliates, let’s take a quick peek at what you should look for in an email marketing platform.
Here are the top things you want to consider when choosing an email autoresponder.
High Email Deliverability
Probably the most important thing to consider when choosing an email autoresponder is whether it has high deliverability rates.
This means that your emails will reach the people who want to receive them. Unfortunately, just because someone is subscribed to your email list doesn’t mean they will actually get to see your email.
If you’re with a good email company then most emails should land in your subscriber’s inbox (providing you’re following best practices). However, some will inevitably end up in your subscriber’s spam folder.
That’s very annoying for both marketers and people on your email list you do genuinely want to hear from you.
There are a number of factors that can affect email deliverability rates, and one of the biggest factors is which email company you are using.
Affordable Subscription Plans
Some autoresponders are more expensive than others. And some can get very expensive!
Fortunately, there are also very affordable ones out there too, some of which also have a completely free plan if you’re just getting started.
When it comes to an autoresponder for affiliate marketing, being more expensive doesn’t mean it’s better. Having said that, you definitely don’t want to go for the cheapest one just because it’s the cheapest either!
Some email companies offer features that a lot of their competitors don’t have. In this case, those tools are usually more expensive. So you need to ask yourself if you really need those extra features if you’re paying for them.
On the other hand, sometimes an email company may provide a feature that means you no longer need to pay for some other tool you might be using.
For example, if you’re using UnBounce as your landing page builder and you then open a GetResponse account for your email autoresponder, you would probably be delighted to realize that GetResponse provides you with a free landing page builder.
In this case, you can cut your cost on UnBounce and just use GetResponse for both features.
Good Marketing Automation Ability
Email marketing automation software allows you to automate many aspects of your business. It helps you send out mass emails, track opens and clicks, set up drip campaigns, and much more.
The best part is that some autoresponders will do all this for you without having to manually enter additional information. This means less stress for you and time saved in business.
Easy To Use
Some email tools are easy and intuitive to use. They’re the ones I like working with 🙂
However, some can be very technical and overly complicated.
If you’re like me then you’ll want to choose an autoresponder that won’t take you 3 months to figure out. Even if you’re an experienced marketer, choosing an autoresponder that could be operated by your grandma’s cat will save you time, and allow you to move forward with your business much more quickly.
Sufficient Free Trial Period
Most email companies offer a trial period of at least 30 days. Don’t take anything less.
Which Autoresponders You Should Avoid Using For Affiliate Marketing?
As I mentioned earlier, some autoresponders ARE NOT affiliate marketing-friendly. Some companies have been known to shut accounts down simply because their software detected affiliate links in emails.
You don’t want that to happen to you. It’s a headache, take it from me!
Here are 4 email companies to avoid if you’re an affiliate.
MailChimp
MailChimp is one of the least friendly companies towards affiliates. I found this out the hard way a few years ago when my business partner and I switched autoresponders in a hurry to save some money.
That was an issue right there, we did things in a hurry and we didn’t read their T&Cs. Having said that, their T&Cs are ambiguous when it comes to affiliate marketing. Our method of emailing was very standard, and we were observing industry best practices, so we were surprised they shut us down.
MailChimp is one of the most popular companies out there, probably because of their marketing.
Our MailChimp account lasted about 3 months before they shut us down, and I can tell you their deliverability rates were not great, so it wasn’t the end of the world when we needed to change autoresponder again.
Best avoid this one if you’re an affiliate.
MailerLite
Mailerlite is a great autoresponder and offers several really nice features which make it a top choice for a lot of marketers.
However, they do not look favorably toward affiliates and have been known to shut down email marketing campaigns that have an affiliate intention.
If you’re in the eCommerce space, or if you’re selling your own courses, for example, then Mailerlite can be a great choice for you. They also have a free plan for up to 1,000 subscribers.
If you’re looking for an affiliate-friendly autoresponder though, then give this one a wide birth.
Constant Contact
Constant Contact is one of the oldest email autoresponder services around and has been in the game since 1998. They’ve got a good rep, and are great at what they do.
This email marketing software platform is often favored by small traditional businesses, eCommerce people, and non-profit organizations.
They’re not keen on affiliate marketing, so you should avoid this one too.
Sendinblue
SendinBlue is one of the most popular email autoresponder platforms. It has a free plan for up to 300 subscribers, and its paid plans are pretty reasonable too.
Unfortunately, this email marketing platform also has a strict policy against sending affiliate email campaigns.
While Sendinblue is a great email marketing tool, it’s not a good one for affiliate marketers to use.
Top Autoresponders For Affiliates: Final Thoughts
Wow, we got through it, and you made it this far, well done for sticking with me!
There you have it, my top 7 best autoresponder for affiliate marketing. But which is the top choice?
Overall, my definitive winner for affiliates is GetResponse.
GetResponse has fantastic deliverability rates, their pricing is reasonable for what you get, and they even have a free-for-life plan to help beginners get started.
Besides this, GetResponse also has several other features such as a landing page, sales funnel, and website builder that can actually save you having to spend extra money with a third-party company for those tools. And considering these extra features are included, the price of GetResponse is actually crazy low.
So, that’s my number one recommendation, GetResponse. You, of course, may have extra requirements that are drawing you to one of the other 6 autoresponders on this list. They’re all good choices for affiliates, so go ahead and pick the one that works best for you!
