Who Is Jim Edwards?

Picture of Jim Edwards

If you’re part of the ClickFunnels community in any way, either as an affiliate, or as s user of their marketing software, then you will definitely have heard of Jim Edwards.

For those of you who don’t know who this guy is, let me introduce him to you.

Jim Edwards is an experienced copywriter, and successful marketer who works closely with the ClickFunnels’ founder, Russell Brunson.

Jim joined the ClickFunnels team a few years ago when he partnered with Russell on a couple of products that are promoted within the ClickFunnels ecosystem.

Jim’s specialty is copywriting, but he’s also a master product creator, and affiliate marketer.

The Jim Edwards Method

The Jim Edwards Method is Jim’s own slant on copywriting, sales and marketing.

Jim devised his system through personal experience as a marketer and copywriter over the years.

In his early career he worked as a copywriter for a bank, but later found that he can make a lot more money writing copy for his own products which he sells online.

Jim’s had tremendous success both as an affiliate marketer and as a product owner so he’s got a lot to teach.

You can learn his methods through his courses and books. However, Jim also runs regular live webinar training sessions for ClickFunnels users, showing them how to build successful funnels with Russell Brunson on Funnel Fridays.

Besides that, Jim also runs a monthly live training webinar on copywriting that is free for the folks who have bought his Funnel Scripts software program.

Jim’s one of the few guys I pay attention to when it comes to copywriting. His emails are also some of the VERY FEW that I actually open and read since he offers a lot of great content for free to people who are subscribed to his list.

Jim’s also got a blog, which you can check out here.

Jim Edwards’ Copywriting Secrets Book

In 2019 Jim released a book called Copywriting Secrets. The book has been extremely successful with many thousands of copies sold across the world.

Jim cleverly marketed the book in partnership with ClickFunnels and offered it as a free book as long as people pay for the shipping and handling.

However, once you pay for the shipping, you then move through Jim’s book funnel where you are presented with several up-sell offers.

This is where Jim makes his money on the book.

So really, the book is a way to entice you into his funnel so he can then up-sell you on more expensive products.

This sounds sneaky, but it is a common marketing practice.

Jim’s products are actually really good, so I don’t mind taking a look at them.

As for the book, well, yes it is offered on a free plus shipping model, however, it does actually contain a lot of really great information that I would have happily paid for.

As a blogger and affiliate marketer, I particularly like how many of the techniques Jim shares in his copywriting book can also be applies to writing blog posts and promoting affiliate offers. The book even contains a whole chapter about how to use copywriting for blog posts.

If you want to know more about the book, or if you want to pick up a copy for yourself then you can read my review of Copywriting Secrets by Jim Edwards here.

Audiobook Upgrade

When you buy Copywriting Secrets, the first up-sell you will be offered is the audiobook version.

Some people can’t spare the time it takes to sit down and read a book long enough to get through it, while others just don’t like reading.

In either case, getting the audiobook will make sense. Personally, I like to listen to these kinds of audiobooks when I’m driving, out walking, or getting chores done around the house.

Funnel Scripts

Jim’s flagship product is his software application tool, Funnel Scripts.

Jim created Funnel Scripts a few years ago with his buddy, Russell Brunson. It’s basically an advanced software application that will write all of your sales copy for you.

It’s actually a really good tool, and it has applications to pretty much write any type of copy for you, including, email copy, sales copy, video sales letters, and headline generators, to name but a few.

If you want to know more about what it can do, you can check out my Funnel Scripts software review here.

Alternatively, you can also test out the free headline generator script here, or you can also read my article on the best 3 alternatives to Funnel Scripts.

Jim Edwards Wizards

Jim has several other software products, most of which revoke around copywriting.

Here are a lists of the software wizards that you can buy form Jim:

  • Easy Sales Copy Wizard
  • 3 Hour Kindle Book Wizard
  • Instant Sales Video Scripts
  • Podcast Interview Wizard
  • PPTX Wizard (creates PowerPoint presentations)
  • Desktop Ad Wizard
  • Automatic Marketing Wizard
  • Expert Interview Wizard
  • Custom Content Wizard

Besides these software programs and, of course, Funnel Scripts, Jim also has several courses available on his website. One of the most popular being his OFA Copy Hacks course.

This course is an accompaniment to the One Funnel Away Challenge. In the course, Jim guides students through the OFA Challenge to give them the best chance of success.

If you haven’t heard of the OFA Challenge before then I go into a lot of detail about it here in my One Funnel Away Challenge review.

If you’re in a hurry and you don’t have time to read my review now, it’s basically a complete training course that teaches you how to create your own product, set up your marketing funnel, and launch your business in 30 days.

Surprisingly, the course is only $100.

The OFA Challenge is run periodically, and you can check the next OFA start dates here.

Final Thoughts

If your copywriting skills are lacking, and you know this is an area of your marketing that you need to improve then you can do well listening to Jim’s advice.

I’d recommend starting with the Copywriting Secrets book since you only need to pay for shipping to get a copy.

Personally, I did find a lot of valuable information in the book, and it’s one I now dip into from time to time depending on what projects I’m working on.

If you like Jim’s material then you could also invest in some of his other products and courses. However, if copywriting is the main thing you need help with then I highly recommend just buy Funnel Scripts and forget the others for now.

If you want to see the software in action first, then you can also watch the free Funnel Scripts webinar before you make your decision to invest in the software.

Funnel Scripts will not only give you access to tools that will quickly create high-converting sales copy for you, you will also be able to attend Jim’s monthly live copywriting webinars too.

If you’re not totally sold on Jim’s stuff then you can also check out my other recommendations for best books on copywriting for beginners here.

Best Affiliate Programs For Beginners

Affiliate programs for beginners - man on a laptop looking at networks

If you’re just getting started with affiliate marketing then, of course, your journey will come with specific challenges.

Knowing exactly which are the best affiliate programs for beginners is one of those challenges.

Signing up for the wrong programs could cause a significant setback in your affiliate career.

However, if you get this right from the beginning then, not only can you start to earn your first commissions a lot sooner, it can also lay a solid foundation for your entire career.

I have worked with some great affiliate networks during my 8+ years in this game so far. But I have also signed up with one or two terrible ones and wasted time too.

In this article I am going to tell you about

8 Things That Make an Affiliate Program Good For Beginners

You might be wondering what exactly makes a network a good affiliate program for beginners to start with.

There are a few key things to look for. Here’s a breakdown for you:

  • Minimal entry requirements
  • Simple or no vetting process
  • Easy to use
  • Products with good commission %
  • Easy to promote products
  • Good product variety
  • Low payout threshold
  • Regular payouts

Choosing a network that fulfills all or most of the above will help you to get started and move in the right direction quickly.

Basically, what you want from a beginner-friendly network are things that will make your life easier. You want a good product range across multiple niches, and a simple to use platform.

Working with a network that also provides you with detailed and easy to use metrics is a huge plus.

If you can easily track which campaigns are working the best for you then you will not need to pay for a 3rd party tracking tool like ClickMagick, at least until later when you will want to access more advanced tracking features.

If you can clearly see which campaigns are working the best then you will be able to put more of your efforts into those areas and drop the ones that are not performing well.

Earning your first commissions is very exciting, but if you have to wait a long time to receive a payout, or if you need to reach a high minimum payment threshold then this can also become de-motivating for beginners.

So, because of this I would also recommend you to start working with a network that has a low payment threshold and pays out regularly.

It’s also important to know that some platforms prefer to work with, or only work with intermediate or advanced marketers. So don’t waste your time trying to sign up with those guys until you have some experience under your belt.

To help you get started quickly with the best chance of success, here are my top 6 affiliate programs for beginners.

Affiliate Networks Vs Private Programs

When you start promoting affiliate offers you will soon realise that you can either sign up to affiliate networks or apply directly to private affiliate programs, or both.

A network (like ClickBank, ShareASale etc, see below) is a place where you can go to sign up, and then get access to promote all kinds of different products across a range of niches that they offer.

If you join a private affiliate program then you need to go directly to the product website and sign up with them.

One of the biggest advantages of joining a network is that you get access to a wider range or products without needing to sign up for multiple affiliate accounts.

In many cases, if the network has approved you to join their affiliate program then you will often be approved automatically to promote most, if not all of the products on the network.

But not always.

With some networks, you will also need to apply to individual vendors on the network, as you will soon discover later on in this article.

So overall, joining a network is usually the best way to go for beginner affiliate marketers.

A common advantage of signing up to a private affiliate program that is not an any network is that often those programs can pay really good commissions.

But again, not always.

Next, I am going to tell you about the best affiliate networks for beginners.

After that, keep reading if you also want to know about some of the best stand-alone affiliate programs where even newbies can make really decent money.

Consider Your Traffic Source

Something that is often overlooked when it comes to choosing an affiliate program is which traffic source you will be using to drive the majority of your traffic.

Why is this important?

While you can promote most affiliate products on most platforms, some traffic sources like Pinterest will be especially good for certain products, but not good for others.

Pinterest is a very visual platform, so niches and products that have a strong visual component do especially well on this platform.

If you are thinking to use Pinterest as your main source of traffic then here are some great affiliate programs for Pinterest.

6 Best Affiliate Networks For Beginners

Here are my top 6 affiliate networks for beginners.

  • ClickBank
  • ShareASale
  • CommissionJunction
  • FlexOffers
  • Rakuten
  • Impact

ClickBank

The ClickBank homepage

With over 17 years in the business, ClickBank is a powerhouse for both novice and advanced affiliate marketers.

This network caters to smaller businesses and provides a wide range of products that are unique to the network.

Each product is listed with some performance metrics so you can get an idea of how well the products are selling. You can also take a look at the landing pages of the products and any promotional materials that they might have for you to use.

If you own a product and want to sell it on ClickBank then you’d sign up as a Vendor. However, by joining the network as an affiliate, you can then search the ClickBank marketplace and look through a huge range of products that have been added to the network by the vendors.

Another exciting aspect is that ClickBank specializes in digital products, such as eBooks, video courses, and some software. However, they now also have some physical products on their marketplace, including supplements.

Personally, I really like promoting digital products because the commission percentage is considerably higher than physical products, in most cases. This is because digital product owners do not have the margins to deal with that physical product owners have to allow for.

As an example, you will typically find the commission percentage that you will earn per sale for most digital products on ClickBank to be somewhere between 50-75%.

Having said this, I have personally earned as much as 90% per sale on some products. This is because the product owner then makes most of their money on the back-end sales.

That said, it can be quite the lucrative program.

There’s a minimum payment threshold of $10 on this network, and they pay out weekly, holding two weeks in arrears to allow for refunds.

ClickBank is an easy network to join with virtually no vetting process.

They basically accept everyone.

You don’t even need to show them you have a website to get started, unlike most affiliate programs you will come across. This is especially helpful for beginners who are looking to get started.

If you don’t have a website yet then here’s a strategy you can use to make money without a blog.

If there’s one downside to ClickBank, it’s the reputation of the products. Not all digital products are as well-known as some that you might find on other networks. Some are actually pretty terrible, however, I would say the majority of the products that I have seen on this network are good.

If you decide to use ClickBank, you will need to do a fair amount of research to find something easy for you to promote and sell.

However, with over six million products available on the platform, there certainly is plenty of opportunity here.

If you are new to affiliate marketing then I recommend you check out my comprehensive guide here on ClickBank for beginners. In this article, I give a step-by-step blueprint to start making money with ClickBank.

Sign-up URL: ClickBank

ClickBank Pros:

  • Low payment threshold
  • Good commission range
  • Simple joining process
  • No vetting process
  • Easy user interface
  • Weekly payouts

ClickBank Cons:

  • Not all products are high-quality or popular

ShareASale

The ShareaSale affiliate network

ShareASale is another great platform for both new and experienced affiliates and houses over 1,000 merchants that you can work with.

ShareASale provides a range of products that includes physical goods and digital products or services.

There is a simple vetting process when you join this network, and you will usually hear back within a few days if you’ve been accepted.

They are a little more strict than ClickBank, and they do want to see that you have at the very least some kind of website or landing page that looks good, and is relevant to at least one of the niches that ShareASale trade in.

That being said, you don’t need anything fancy, just something that doesn’t look shite.

It’s important to know that once you’re accepted onto the ShareASale network, that doesn’t mean that you will be able to promote any product you like.

Many product owners listed on ShareASale will pre-approve you to promote them if ShareASales has already accepted you. However, there are also many other products listed on this network that are not pre-approved.

In this case, you’ll need to reach out to those individual product owners through the ShareASale interface to request access to promote them. They will usually want to take a look at your website to make sure it’s a good fit, and then they will either accept or deny you.

If they deny you, don’t worry. Just search for other suitable products to promote on the ShareASale marketplace.

What I particularly like about ShareASale is that there are a number of very good, and even well-known brands on this network and quite a number of high-ticket affiliate offers too!

ShareASale also provides you with pretty good metrics so you can monitor how well your campaigns are going.

I also particularly like that, in most cases, ShareASale will show you which of your URL’s have referred each sale.

At the moment, ShareASale doesn’t support PayPal payments. This may inconvenience some users, however, there are a number of payment alternatives available, including direct bank transfer, so I really don’t think it’s a problem.

Sign-up URL: Shareasale

Shareasale Pros:

  • Low payment threshold
  • Minimal joining requirements
  • Some high-quality brands
  • Some high-ticket products
  • Detailed reports

Shareasale Cons:

  • No PayPal support
  • Commissions vary a lot

CommissionJunction

CommissionJunction program

CommisionJunction, also known as CJ Affiliate, started back in 2002. It’s a platform dedicated to working with big brand names.

You may recognize some of the companies that work with the network: Verizon, UnderArmor, Samsung, Sonos, Namecheap, etc.

If you want to start your affiliate marketing venture by targeting popular niches, CJ Affiliate is one of the top choices. However, if you’re thinking of going down this route then know you’ll likely be up against some stiff competition. If you already have an audience for these types of products then great.

If not then I’d recommend you to start with something easier.

CJ is not a difficult platform to join, and they usually seem to accept most affiliates. Having said this, you will also then need to apply to specific product vendors on the network, similar to ShareASale.

CJ offer the widest and most detailed amount of metrics that I have so far seen on an affiliate network.

While this should be a benefit to you, it’s rather complex and does actually have a learning curve all of its own, which I don’t think is very helpful for beginners.

CJ also caters to both pros and novice affiliates, so advanced users will benefit more from the superior metrics that they offer.

With that in mind, this network suits a specific type of beginner; those that already have some experience in this field. At least three months.

Sign-up URL: CommissionJunction

CJ Pros:

  • Direct display advertising
  • Limits the guesswork in finding merchants
  • Modern UI
  • A great portfolio of big-name brands

CJ Cons:

  • A number of low paying offers
  • Higher learning curve and payment threshold

FlexOffers

FlexOffers website

FlexOffers is a bit of an unusual one in that it signs up to the product owner’s affiliate programs and then Flex allows you to use its affiliate links to promote the products.

The up-side of this is that you only need to get approved by FlexOffers to be able to promote a lot of programs because FlexOffers will be doing all the signing up to individual merchants’ affiliate programs for you.

On the downside, however, in so doing, FlexOffers will take a cut of your affiliate commissions.

Basically, they act as the middle man between you and the product owner. This is not a bad thing if you’re a newbie affiliate marketer though so don’t let it put you off. Once you’re approved by FlexOffers you’ll have access to a wide range of products you can promote.

FlexOffers is also one of the largest networks out there, with over 12,000 product owners registered on their system.

Be aware that the signup process can be a bit lengthy. This is because they will essentially be allowing you to use their affiliate links, so they would be accountable for your actions. Because of this, they can be a bit picky when it comes to new affiliates.

It has a low payment threshold of $50, and pays out to affiliates on a monthly basis. It’s important to be aware though, that FlexOffers pays on a net 60 terms basis.

Basically, this means you’ll receive your commissions after a 60 day period. This is normal for most affiliate programs and is nothing to worry about. The network just needs to allow enough time to cover their back in case of refunds.

Granted, this payout process isn’t as sweet as some of the other networks, but still, it isn’t bad.

Sign-up URL: FlexOffers

FlexOffers Pros:

  • Provides a lot of assistance
  • Beginner-specific program available
  • Decent product range
  • Easy-to-use platform

FlexOffers Cons:

  • Lower than average commissions

Rakuten

Rakuten is not usually the first one most people think of when it comes to affiliate programs. However, it’s one of the biggest players in the industry, and is actually an award-winning network.

It holds a technological edge over its competitors due to spending more on development. It even includes an automatic ad rotation perk that helps affiliates promote more products.

Because the platform offers a lot, it’s not exactly the easiest to use. However, it’s straightforward enough to learn and provides plenty of tools for targeted advertising.

Rakuten have some pretty big brands on their network, so they like to pay close attention to the affiliates joining their network. If your website only has a trickle of traffic then you may find it tough getting accepted.

They also have some strict rules and may shut you down quickly if you violate them, so be warned.

A big advantage of joining Rakuten is its advertisers and partners. The platform works with big names such as Ray-Ban, JanSport, Virgin – to name but a few.

A couple of things I do like about Rakuten is the wide variety of physical products that they have, and their Net 30 terms payout structure.

The commission payout threshold is also pretty low, starting at $50.

Sign-up URL: Rakuten

Rakuten Pros:

  • Innovative tools
  • Popular brands and products
  • Among the oldest and most reputable networks
  • Offers many targeted advertising tools

Rakuten Cons:

  • Strict vetting process
  • Doesn’t provide as many metrics as other platforms

Impact

The Impact Radius network

With over a decade’s worth of experience, Impact is still among the baby of affiliate networks. However, the people that founded it had prior experience with CommissionJunction, LeadPoint and Savings.com, so they definitely know what they’re doing.

This helped cement Impact as one of the most reputable affiliate marketing programs, despite not being among one of the oldest networks.

The platform has over 1,000 merchants who offer a superior range of products. It’s one of the best affiliate programs for beginners that haven’t found a preferred niche yet.

Their product range is extensive, covering food and drink, arts, tourism, clothing, and even technology.

Bear in mind, joining this platform may take a while. The verification process is lengthy and, in some cases, may even include a phone call, although that didn’t happen to me.

The good news is that these measures would put off the more nefarious affiliates from trying to join, and will leave you more room to promote without worrying too much about commission poaching and other underhanded tactics that does unfortunately happen in the industry.

So, it’s actually a good thing that not everyone makes it onto the platform. This helps to maintain the network’s reputable and trustworthy status.

If merchants see that the quality of affiliate marketers isn’t diluted, they’re less likely to leave.

By comparison, big brands can come and go, even on platforms like Rakuten. It doesn’t happen nearly as often with Impact, which achieved a higher status.

The minimum payment threshold of $25 offers some incentive too. It’s a midrange threshold and suitable enough for most beginners.

Some affiliate marketing networks had their fair share of ups and downs. Impact is among the few consistently keeping an ascending trend in popularity and reliability.

Sign-up URL: Impact

Impact Pros:

  • High-quality products
  • Experienced founders
  • Very trustworthy platform with merchants
  • Midrange payment threshold

Cons:

  • Can take longer to join
  • Doesn’t cater to a wide range of niches

4 Best Affiliate Programs For Beginners

GrooveFunnels Affiliate Program

One of my favorite affiliate programs for people who are just starting out as an affiliate is GrooveFunnels.

GrooveFunnels is an all-in-one marketing and business tool suite that can help you to build, launch, and scale an online business.

Here are some of the main tools that you can promote to your audience if you sign up with GrooveFunnels:

  • Funnel builder
  • Landing page builder
  • Website builder
  • Email autoresponder
  • Hosted webinars
  • Hosted videos
  • Online shopping cart

Here are the reasons why I link this program for beginners:

They Have a Free Plan

GrooveFunnels is easy to promote for 4 reasons – Firstly, they offer a free plan, but their paid plans are so good that around 20% of people who sign up for a free account usually upgrade to a paid plan.

As you can imagine, it’s much easier to promote a free product than a monthly subscription service.

They Offer Recurring Commissions

Secondly, Groove’s paid plans are subscription based, and their affiliate program is a recurring monthly commission.

This means that when you refer someone who upgrades to a paid plan, they will be billed every month, and you will earn a sweet 20-40% commission on their purchase each and every month they remain a Groove user.

If this concept interests you then I recommend you also read my article on the best recurring affiliate programs here.

Tier-2 Commissions

Thirdly, GrooveFunnels also has a tier-2 program. This means that you can earn an additional 5-10% each month from all of the people who have signed up to use the platform through someone that you have signed up directly.

Not Saturated, Yet

And the fourth reason why I really like this program for newbies is that it’s very new and, and for the moment at least, there’s not a lot of competition when it comes to promoting it.

If you want more info about this program then you can read more about becoming a GrooveFunnels affiliate here or you can sign up to promote them here.

ClickFunnels Affiliate Program

ClickFunnels have been around for a while so there’s a lot more competition to promote this product that GrooveFunnels, but there are still several reasons why you can make some really good money promoting them.

Recurring Commissions

ClickFunnels also offers recurring monthly commission payments to their affiliates when they promote their core software product, ClickFunnels.

Very High Converting Offers

ClickFunnels also has a number of other highly popular, and very high converting products that you can promote and earn some great commissions.

Several Low Front-End Offers

They also have several low-cost front-end products that you can promote, such as the DotCom Secrets Book, Expert Secrets, and the Traffic Secrets Book.

When someone buys one of these books all they pay is for the shipping and handling, so it’s a pretty easy sell for you.

However, the ClickFunnels team will then continue to market more expensive products to these folks over time. When they buy something else further down the line, you get paid. So they essentially do all the selling for you once you’ve signed them up to for one of the book offers.

ClickFunnels is a great company, with decent products, and an attractive affiliate program. However, it’s also important to know that a number of CF affiliates have reported that affiliate tracking can be off at times.

You can join the ClickFunnels affiliate program here.

ChemiCloud Affiliate Program

ChemiCloud is a very good web hosting platform with extremely reasonable rates.

I have been a customer of theirs for several years now for one of my small niche websites so I can certainly attest to how good their hosting service is.

And, of course, like pretty much every web hosting company out there, they have an affiliate program.

Here are the reasons why I like promoting ChemiCloud in particular:

  • Commissions start at $50 per sale
  • Very good service so you can feel good about promoting them
  • Very reasonably prices to easier to promote
  • After you’ve referred just 8 customers your commission gets bumper up to $75

You can find out more about the ChemiCloud affiliate program here.

ClickMagick Affiliate Program

ClickMagick is a tool that pretty much every marketer and business owner online can benefit from.

Using ClickMagick has also helped you to earn more money as it will help you to know exactly which campaigns are performing the best for you, and which ones you should drop.

The ClickMagick team have recently put a lot of attention into their affiliate program, and since they have started doing that, I have noticed an increase in sign-ups and a better customer retention rate.

Here are a few reasons why I think ClickMagick is a good affiliate program for beginners:

  • Very useful product
  • Recurring monthly commissions – 30%
  • Good customer retention rate

You can find out about the ClickMagick affiliate program here.

Final Thoughts – Which Is The Best Affiliate Program For Beginners?

In my opinion, ClickBank is the best affiliate program for beginners, for several reasons.

However, picking just one program and calling it the overall ‘best for newbies’ is tough because there are actually several great programs you can work with.

Remember that the goal here is to offer you a recommendation on how to get started. Once your business grows, and you gain experience, you can experiment with other platforms.

That’s what I did, and ClickBank was also the first network that I made money with.

ClickBank is easy to join and there is no vetting process, so you can get started straight away looking for products to promote.

While there are some pretty bad products on ClickBank, I would say the majority of them are decent, at least in the niches that I’ve worked in. CB also covers a wide variety of niches, and a huge range of products.

ClickBank has a very low payment threshold of just $10, so you can start to receive payouts fairly soon once you’ve made a few sales. They also have a simple user interface, great reporting features, and their hoplink tracking is also very good.

Since most products on the ClickBank network are digital products, they tend to have a much higher commission % compared to networks that offer physical products.

If you’re not sold on ClickBank then no worries. All of the networks in this article are great for beginners to sign up with, especially Shareasale, as this would be my very close second choice for newbies.

Whichever affiliate program you choose to start with, make sure you choose good products to promote and stay consistent with your promotional activities.

Once you’ve got your teeth into some of these platforms and started making money, come back here and check out my article on the best high ticket affiliate programs.

Morevago Review: A Social Proof Plugin To Boost Conversion Rates?

Morevago Review

With all the challenges that come with running an online business, getting people to actually take action and buy your stuff is one of the most difficult parts.

While there are several things you can do to help improve your conversion rate, one of the simplest and most effective is to leverage your customer testimonials.

It goes without saying, collecting positive reviews and testimonials from your customers is massively important. However, not everyone will necessarily see them.

In particular, the people you want to see your reviews are the people who are considering buying a product similar to yours and are looking at different options and the ones who are already on the fence to do business with you.

Morevago promises to solve this issue and, at the same time, increase your conversion rate and get more people to buy from you.

But how good is it, and is it worth your time?

I’ll give you the lowdown in this Morevago review.

Already know you want to give Morevago a try? Before you buy it, you can get a Morevago free trial here.

Morevago Review: How Does Morevago Work?

Morevago uses clever social pop technology to show your site visitors your testimonials and customer reviews at the best possible times.

You can enable Mroevago to showcase what people are saying about you, your business and your products on any page of your website, landing page or funnel.

If you have a large website then you can also enable it to work on multiple pages.

Stats show that, nowadays, around 91% of people read reviews online. Of those 91% of people, around 84% of them say they trust online reviews as much as they do a personal recommendation, according to this article on inc.com.

That’s huge!

Why Is Social Proof Important?

Social proof is so important nowadays that online businesses will struggle to survive if they don’t have it.

One of the most powerful influences you can have on a potential customer is showing him or her evidence that other consumers are purchasing your products and are getting good value from it.

Reviews go a long way toward reassuring people that they will have a good experience doing business with you.

Getting people to visit your websites and landing pages is hard enough. Getting them to take action and buy from you is even harder.

It’s a challenge a lot of entrepreneurs struggle with. We could all use some help with conversion, and that’s exactly what Morevago’s been designed to do.

Does Morevago Boost Conversion Rates?

According to Morevago, the customers using their social proof popup see an average increase in conversions of around 37%.

While we can’t verify those numbers, it does make sense that if reviews in general increase conversions, then if you can put them directly in front of a customer before they buy, then there should be some further increase in conversion rate.

What I Like About Morevago

  1. What I particularly like about Morevago is that it basically acts like a “sticky reviews” plugin.

Customer reviews stick to your landing pages and are shown to your customers at exactly the right time that they will be most useful and persuasive.

Therefore, enabling a snazzy little popup on your landing pages can help to improve our conversion rate.
  2. Morevago is easy to use. All you need to do is copy the pixel onto your website and you’re ready to go. You do not need to be technical to use it.
  3. The popup is customizable, you can add an image and even hyperlinks in the popup window if you wish.
  4. It’s very affordable. Please see Morevago pricing below.
  5. You get a 14-day free trial
  6. You’re not locked into any contract so you can stop using it whenever you want

What I Don’t Like about Morevago

While this is not an entirely negative point, with Morevago you need to add the reviews manually.

While this can take time, it will enable new businesses to start using the tool straight away and demonstrating proof via the testimonials they’ve already collected from their costumes.

Unfortunately, there will also likely be some people who will use Morevago and add fake reviews. While this may fool a lot of site visitors, there will always be some people who can spot a fake review.

On the plus side though, if you are adding the reviews yourself then there will be no danger or an unscrupulous competitor writing bad reviews of your products that automatically get shown to your visitors.

Tips For Getting The Most Out Of Morevago

Morevago gives you a wide range of customization options. You can easily do all of the following to make your reviews more attractive:

  • Condense reviews into short, effective snippets for use in the Morevago popup
  • Add emojis for additional persuasiveness

  • Test different review set-ups to determine which is most effective for you

What Else Does Morevago Help With?

By using Morevago, you can take control of when and where your visitors see your testimonials and target them to the most effective conversion points in your funnel.

With Morevago, you can show your visitors that you are:

  • Safe to do business with
  • Trusted by other buyers

How To Build An Email List – A Quick Start-Guide

a woman learning how to build an email list for affiliate marketing

Email marketing is an essential part of running an effective business online. If you aren’t currently using it then you’re certainly missing a trick – and potentially also missing out on a lot of money.

It can seem daunting to think about building an email list but it is a lot easier than you might think.

Both businesses and bloggers need to harness the power of email; despite claims that this form of marketing is past its prime, it’s still a key part of online marketing strategy.

5 important reasons to build a list

  1. When you build and nurture an email list you are building a steady and reliable source of hot traffic that will be an asset to your business for years.
  2. If you decide to sell your business at any point in the future, having an active email list greatly increases the value of your business
  3. Cost – compared to other forms of marketing like direct mailshots, you can get started and set up an ongoing email marketing campaign with platforms like Aweber or ActiveCampaign for very little money.
  4. Gets those leads – no matter what industry or niche you’re working in, email marketing only requires a simple opt-in to get started. If someone is willing to at least look at what you are saying, then chances are they’ll also be interested in opt-in to receive free info, a giveaway offer, or a special discount from you.
  5. Mobile users – nowadays most people browse the internet via mobile. Studies have shown that the average mobile user now engages with email more than ever before.

Email marketing is alive and well and is the key to grabbing your audience before your competitors do.

Here’s a four-step approach to help you build your email list. This method also works well if you want to know how to build an email list for affiliate marketing.

How To Get Started Building Your Email List

Email marketing is something that is seen as a huge challenge for people just starting out.

If you doubt how effective email marketing is then you’ll need to shift your perspective on this first.

When Facebook bought WhatsApp for $21.8 billion, it was the user base ie the list that Zuckerburg was interested in.

All successful businesses today build an email list or a user base. While most of us don’t operate on the same level as Mark Zuckerburg, this is still applicable to every business.

Check out your competitors – what are they doing to grow their email marketing lists?

Do they have an opt-in form on their landing page?

Are they directing people to opt-in for free offers via their YouTube videos and social media posts?

What sort of marketing are they sending out?

Sign up for it and find out.

When you read their emails, if any, in particular, grab your attention, save them to a dedicated folder in your email account and collect some examples that you can use as templates when you start to form your own messages.

Don’t rip off their emails or copy them completely, but study them to see how they’re structured, what kind of message they are communicating. If the email is leading the reader to an offer, notice how they’re doing it.

Effective email marketing relies on well known psychological triggers. However, you don’t need to spend years to become a professional copywriter.

I highly recommend grabbing a copy of a book called Copywriting Secrets. The book’s currently being offered for free, you just pay the shipping.

Considering it’s being given away for free, I was surprised at just how good this book is for teaching you effective copywriting techniques that are easy to apply.

So, to get a good email marketing campaign off the ground you just need to follow a few simple steps.

4 Simple Steps To Build Your List

Choosing the right Traffic Source

When looking at driving customers to your email list you have to make the decision of whether to go for free or paid for traffic.

Each option has its advantages and disadvantages to consider:

Paid traffic

Paid traffic mainly involves paying for ads. There are quite a few forms this can take, but some of the most common are running PPC campaigns on Google, Facebook, and other social platforms, paying for ads on YouTube and paying for banner ads on other people’s websites.

Paid traffic has a big advantage in terms of speed – you don’t need to wait for a slow trickle of traffic, it tends to arrive all in one surge if you run a good campaign.

This can be appealing when starting from scratch when you don’t have the time or the patience to sit and wait for a list to develop organically.

The main disadvantage is, of course, cost.

Paid traffic can prove expensive and like with anything, the traffic doesn’t mean that every opt-in will convert to a sale.

Running new ads takes time as well as budget, so these things need to be weighed up against the potential advantages.

As simple as it sounds, there is a skill to paid traffic.

Unfortunately, a lot of newbie marketers are attracted to the allure of getting a quick ROI but instead end up burning through a lot of money.

If you know what you’re doing when it comes to paid traffic and you have the budget then this will certainly make sense to use this traffic source.

If you’ve never run paid ads before and you don’t know how well your funnel will convert then you’re probably better off starting with free traffic. However, if you really want to go the paid route then I highly recommend learning how to do it properly from someone with experience and a good track record before jumping in feet first.

Another effective way to grow your email list with paid traffic is through solo ads.

Solo ads are basically when you contact a person in your niche who already has a large list. You then pay them to email your landing page with your free lead magnet to their list.

While this can be a good way to build your list if you find a good vendor, you also need to bear in mind that, if the people on the vendor’s list don’t know you then they’ll only be opting in to receive your free offer.

The key then, to turn these subscribers into your fans is to have a good follow-up sequence that nurtures your subscribers and offers them a lot of value over time, which you should be doing anyway.

Free traffic

Free traffic is the organic traffic you get from the time spent putting out a lot of good quality content.

This content can be in the form of blog posts, videos, podcasts, and social media posts.

While paid traffic is a lot quicker, free traffic often is of higher value because those people are actively engaging with you. After all, they like your content.

Free traffic does not cost you money but it does cost you time.

For traffic to build organically it can take a while especially if there is no one else pushing people to subscribe.

So while having a slow steady trickle of new organic leads is what you’re aiming for, it is not going to happen quickly, certainly not overnight.

If you decide to go the free traffic route then it’s also highly advisable to choose just one source first. Once that source is well established then you can think about building a new traffic source.

If you particularly enjoy reading and writing then start a blog.

If you don’t like reading but you love watching videos or listening to podcasts then think about establishing your first traffic source on YouTube or one of the popular podcast platforms.

If you don’t like any of those things but you enjoy networking with people then consider starting a Facebook group where you can build an audience.

Ultimately, it is best to use a combination of both paid and free traffic so you can strategically build your lists. However, your choices will depend on the product you’re selling, the niche you’re working in and, of course, your skill level as a marketer.

If you have a solid on-site marketing funnel and some financial back up then starting with some paid traffic might be the way forward. You will then rely on the quality of your marketing to drive in both paid and organic subscribers over time.

Whatever you choose – paid or organic – you will need to set up an email opt-in funnel.

This is also a lot easier than it sounds!

an email marketing campaign

Create an Email Opt-in Funnel

There are several ways you can go about this and there are a number of tools you can use to get this done.

How you go about it will also depend on your traffic source, which is why I spent more time on it in the section above.

Option if you have a blog

If you’re a blogger and already have your blog set up then the simplest way is to use a tool like OptinMonster or ThriveLeads to collect email subscribers and add them to your list.

With these tools, you can build a simple opt-in form that offers your lead magnet to your site visitors in exchange for their email.

Two great ways to use these tools on your site that I’ve had success with are by using popups and doing content upgrades in posts.

Option if you don’t have a blog

If you don’t have a website, you hate blogging and you have no desire at all to build a site then don’t worry, you don’t need one to build a list.

All you need is a landing page where you can direct traffic to, and an autoresponder to collect your emails.

While there are quite a few landing page builders out there, the best one I’ve used so far is GrooveFunnels.

Their landing page builder, known as GroovePages, is very easy to use and it even comes with a large number of templates ready to go.

All you need to do is choose one and customize it to get it how you want, which is very easy to do.

If you want to know more about this platform then you can read my in-depth GrooveFunnels review here.

Impressively, this page builder even has a free plan that is comparable to the ClickFunnels standard plan, which includes GroovePages and GrooveSell completely free for life.

You can get a free GroovePages and GrooveSell account here.

Connect an autoresponder

So whichever method you’re going with above, you’ll then need to connect your opt-in form to an autoresponder.

An autoresponder is a service you will need to use to collect and store your email list. It is also the place where you will run your email campaigns.

Through your autoresponder, you can create automated email campaigns that will send emails to your subscribers for you at the time intervals you set.

While it can take a bit of time initially writing out a few emails, once you have it set up, it will run on autopilot for you, which will save you a lot of time moving forward.

If you don’t want to write the emails yourself then you can do one of the following:

See also: More productivity hacks for solopreneurs

My favorite two autoresponders for both newbies and experienced marketers are Aweber and GetResponse.

Both are newbie and affiliate-friendly, however, I’d say Aweber is probably the easier one to use. I also like Aweber’s simple “how-to” videos that show you how to get everything set up step-by-step.

Aweber is also affiliate marketing friendly so if affiliate marketing is your main business model then I’d recommend using these guys, especially if you’re a newbie.

ActiveCampaign is also a good choice, however, they are not very affiliate-friendly. They do allow affiliate marketers to use their platform but they are much more strict when it comes to affiliate marketing.

For example, they don’t like you to put affiliate links directly in your email content, but with Aweber, you can do this. With ActiveCampaign, you will first need to create bridge pages to direct people to first that will then lead to the affiliate offer you are promoting.

This is one reason I’d recommend Aweber over ActiveCampaign for newbie affiliate marketers.

If you want more options or if you’re already using an autoresponder but you’d like to switch to a different one, then check out my article on the best autoresponders to choose from.

So, once you’ve got your landing page set up with your opt-in form and you’re connected to your autoresponder, you’re ready to start bringing the traffic.

Offer Value

Most people will want something of real value if they are going to opt-in to your email list.

We’re all constantly receiving marketing messages nowadays. The amount of time and attention we spend on each is limited so you need to try to make yours stand out.

Making them a valuable offer is an important key to doing this.

But what can you offer?

Where will that value come from?

People love getting free stuff, especially if it’s got high perceived value.

So, you can use freebies to incentivize your target audience to opt into your list.

Of course, your offer will relate directly to your niche, but some ideas are:

Digital products – this is my personal favorite. Things like eBooks, a video that shows them how to do something, an audio recording that tells them something valuable or other digital information that you can create are great freebies.

Samples and trials – if you have a product or service then you can give your potential customer a chance to try you out. This does take a little effort especially if you have a physical product that needs to be shipped. But by showing confidence in your product can help you to seal the deal.

Physical freebies – Offering a free copy of a book in return for some personal info and a postage and packing fee is a good example of this.

If you don’t have time to create a freebie offer then there are other things you can do.

Here are two options:

  • You can buy the rights to an ebook or a digital course that you can give away form somewhere like plr.me or the plrstore.com
  • You can pay someone on upwork.com to create something bespoke for you

When it comes to getting your subscribers, there are also other ways to increase the chances of them taking action and opting in.

A lot of marketing relates directly to psychology so it is worth considering some of the following methods that you can leverage to encourage your subscribers.

Some of the most effective techniques include:

Social Proof – success stories, testimonials, and reviews show that others have benefited from your product or service.

Exclusivity – makes your subscribers feel that you are giving them something that no one else has and are providing unique and exclusive information.

Urgency – Urge them to act quickly by emphasizing how wasting time or money can be detrimental to them. Tools like ThriveLeads, OptinMonster, and ClickFunnels give you the ability to add countdown timers to your forms and landing pages, which can encourage people to take action now.

4. Use Email to Continue to Build your Relationship

To have the most success with your email campaigns you need to keep communicating with your customers and try to build a good positive relationship over time. This can’t be done with one-off messages.

Autoresponders are great to automate the whole process and will send out emails for you at the time intervals you set.

But what should you be emailing your list about..?

Newbies often make the mistake of just bombarding their list with offers regularly. This is not an effective strategy as your subscribers will feel like you’re only interested in selling them something.

Doing this will get a lot of people to unsubscribe

Yes, you can and should send them offers that they will likely be interested in, but that’s not the only thing you should be emailing them about.

A more effective strategy is to offer a lot of valuable help and information, especially in your first several emails. Then, when you do present them with an offer they will be much more likely to be receptive to it.

Here are a few things you can email them about.

Useful info – add links in your emails to blog posts or other useful info that could help them out.

Storytelling – you can tell them about your own story and how you grew your business as well as any other stories that they may relate to.

Questions – ask them questions about what they’re struggling with or share some insightful Q&A’s you had with other subscribers (don’t mention the person’s name you had the Q&A with unless they’ve permitted you to include it)

Be creative but keep it short and sweet.

Be personable in your messages and write like you’re talking to a friend.

If you’re collecting their name when they first subscribe, then personalize the emails by putting their name in the subject line and at the start of the email.

When you do present an offer, use calls to action and make sure the link goes to the right landing page. It’s wise to send yourself a test email to make sure everything’s working properly before sending it out for real.

Final Thoughts

Email traffic is highly targeted and so it makes sense that it’s also highly valuable!

It’s wise to get started building your list sooner rather than later. Although it can seem intimidating at first, it’s a lot easier than most people think to get it all set up.

Don’t just spam your list with a load of offers or you’ll burn your list out pretty quickly.

Nurture your list, treat them well and give them loads of valuable info for free. Build rapport with them and get them to look forward to opening your emails.

Then, when you do send your offers you’ll have a much better conversion rate and you won’t piss off your subscribers.

Productivity Hacks For Solopreneurs

productivity hacks for solopreneurs

If you’re a solopreneur then I’m sure you, like me, now how important it is to be as productive with your time as possible.

However, many solopreneurs find it difficult to stay focused and productive when working alone.

There are a huge number of distractions all around us that suck or time and prevent us from moving forward.

Fortunately, there are several productivity hacks for solopreneurs that you can leverage to make yourself as efficient as possible.

The more effective you are with your time, not only will you reach your goals considerably faster, you’ll also have more time to spend with the people you love doing the things you enjoy.

10 Productivity Hacks For Solopreneurs & Entrepreneurs

Master your phone

As useful as they are, the phone is a huge distraction and productivity killer.

Here are some important tips to improve your productivity by mastering your phone:

  • Don’t switch on your phone during the first or last hour of the day (your sacred hours)
  • Put your phone on silent while working
  • Put your phone out of view when you’re working
  • Don’t look at your phone during your working blocks of time
  • Don’t check your phone during a working block when you’re stuck or procrastinating on a task
  • Don’t take unscheduled called calls during the day

Figure out your peak productivity times

We all have different times of the day when we’re at our most productive and most creative.

There’s not a one size fits all solution here. You’ll need to find your times and then schedule your tasks around what works best for you.

For example, some people love to wake up early while others are night owls. If you find that your mind seems to be the most focused during the evenings then that might be your most productive time of the day.

Personally, for myself I’m the most focused during late morning, so this is the time I focus on creative tasks like writing. I then reserve the afternoon for tasks that I can do well without having to think too hard about them.

Morning routine

If you can win the first hour of the day then you have a much stronger chance of winning the rest of the day.

There is a saying that the first hour of the day is the golden hour and so, should be dedicated to ourselves.

Use this hour to do things for yourself that will enhance your overall health, well being and sharpen our mind.

In this video below from Brian Tracy, he recommends spending the first hour reading something inspirational, motivational or something that you can learn to improve your income.

Here is a shortlist of things you can do to set you upright during the first hour of your day:

  • Meditate
  • Stretch
  • Work out
  • Read something positive
  • Journaling
  • Affirmations

You don’t need to spend the first hour on just one of these tasks. You can spend 10, 15 or 20 minutes on a few different ones.

To give you an example, at the moment the following is working well for me:

  • Stretch – 10mins
  • Meditate – 10mins
  • Read – 30mins
  • Affirmations – 10mins

Experiment with it to find what works for you.

Evening routine

Just as important as your morning routine is having a solid evening routine.

Make the final hour of your day a sacred time for you to wind down and get into a good state of relaxation before bed.

If you don’t do it at the end of your working day, then writing down the tasks you need to get done for the next day can be done at this time. Getting them out of your head and onto paper will help to clear your mind.

Don’t look at any type of screens within this last hour before bed. That includes TV and your phone as well as computers.

Sleep is super important for productivity and studies have shown that the blue light from screens will inhibit the production of melatonin, the hormone our body produces to help us sleep.

Blue light blockers can help, however, engaging with your phone, computer or the television before bed will stimulate the mind and inhibit a good night’s sleep.

Listen to music

Listening to music can be a great way to help get you into your flow state.

I find instrumental music the most effective during my creative hours as music with lyrics can often be distracting. When I’m working on tasks that don’t need a lot of focus then it doesn’t seem to matter if the music has lyrics.

We’re all different so you’ll need to experiment and find what kind of music works best for you.

My personal favourites that I find the most effective when working is inspirational soundtrack music or upbeat classical music.

Definitely do not listen to playlists on YouTube while you’re working unless you have a paid subscription to YouTube otherwise you’ll be interrupted by annoying ads every few minutes. This can really kill your focus.

Tap into your flow state

You’ve probably heard of the term “flow state” before. It’s the state of mind that top athletes and high achievers get into for peak performance.

Some people also refer to it as “being in the zone”.

We’ve likely all had experiences of being in a flow state where you seemed to have an unbelievably sharp focus and everything seems to flow. However, for most people, these times are very few and far between and they have no idea how to access it at will.

Fortunately, we all have the ability to do it as it’s a state of mind that we can all access.

It’s like a muscle and the more you flex it, the stronger it will get.

I’ve also noticed that it seems to be easier to get into flow state during our highest hours of creativity.

Here’s how to start to train your flow state:

  1. Remember a time when you were in a state of flow, where you had a single-minded focus and were super productive. It may also be a memory of when you operated at peak performance when you played sport at school
  2. The feelings are the key. Recall the feelings you felt in your body when you were in that flow state
  3. Practice recalling those feelings at different times throughout your day, and especially before to sit down to do your most important work

Use and keep to a schedule

If you’re like most entrepreneurs then you’ll likely have hundreds of tasks you need to get done, but no time to do them.

The key is to schedule them.

First, schedule your days into chunks of time where you’ll be the most effective at getting different types of tasks done.

For example, if you’re really creative between 9am – 12pm then schedule all your creative tasks during these hours over the coming days.

Then, decide which tasks you can do without much thought. Those tasks can be assigned to your afternoon between say 2pm – 5pm when you come back from lunch.

For admin tasks, you can choose one day per week, say a Friday for example, where you spend the last 2-3 hours of the day getting your admin tasks done.

Schedule breaks

Scheduling breaks is also really important. I used to schedule no breaks at all, I’d even used to eat a sandwich for lunch while I was still working. That’s really dumb.

I thought I needed to work every second of the day I had in order to get things done.

Interestingly, once I started scheduling breaks throughout my day I found I got more done, was able to get into the flow state more easily and was happier.

For lunch I now take one and a half hours and also use that time to relax and go for a walk or even have a nap if I need one

Don’t check email first thing in the morning

Similar to turning your phone on first thing in the morning, this is also another productivity killer.

Replying to emails first thing in the morning is like saying to your subconscious, “other people’s agendas are more important than mine”.

Before you know it, you’ll have spent a considerable amount of your day prioritising other people’s needs while your important tasks pile up, spill over to another day and cause you more anxiety.

I’ve still not found the perfect time for me yet to check my emails, but it’s certainly not first thing in the morning. At the moment, I’m reserving 30-45mins per day after my creative morning time and before lunch to check emails and this is definitely working better.

If there are emails that I haven’t got to check in this time period and are not urgent, they can wait until the next day.

Use online tools and automations

There are loads of great tools out there you can use to automate some of your tasks.

Some simple ones include setting up automated email replies or using the free Voice Typing feature to create lists or even write articles in Google Sheets.

There are also loads of other cool software programs that can help you with more advanced tasks.

For example, Todoist is a great software app you can use to organise all our tasks. You can also sync it with any smartphone to organise and schedule your emails for you.

IFTTT is another great app you can use in combination with all kinds of other apps to automate tasks to simplify your work as well as other areas of your life.

Here’s a great article that shows you 35 ways to automate your life with IFTTT.

Hire a VA

If you’ve not done it before then hiring a VA might not be as expensive as you think.

You can find skilled workers to do certain tasks for you at very reasonable rates.

Some good places to look to a VA for ad-hoc tasks include fiverr.com and upwork.com.

If you’re looking for a VA on a part-time or full-time basis then I highly recommend taking a look at onlinejobs.ph.

Do you need to hire a VA for copywriting? Before you do, I highly recommend you read my review of Funnel Scripts. It’s a cool software program that can write all your scripts for you and save you a ton of time and money in the process.

Final Thoughts

Keeping away from the phone the first hour of the day and during your working blocks as well as not checking your email several times a day are two of the best things you can do to improve your productivity and get stuff done.

Are there any productivity hacks for solopreneurs that are not on this list that work well for you? Let me know in the comments below.
