Best Faceless YouTube Channel Tools

IMPORTANT: Since there are several aspects to consider when it comes to building a faceless channel, I’ve broken this article down into the different types of tools you’ll need to use. Like this:

  • YouTube research tools
  • Script writing tools
  • Video editing tools
  • Stock images & B-roll footage
  • Whiteboard animation tools
  • Video thumbnail tools
  • Sound – microphones
  • Background music
  • Audio editing tools
  • AI voiceover tools
  • Thumbnail design tools

I’ve also included a bonus section on the best places to outsource work to build your channel at the end of this article.

If you have some money to invest, then outsourcing some, most, or even all of the work to build your faceless channel is definitely the quickest way to build a successful YouTube channel without showing your face.

YouTube Research & Optimization Tools

YouTube Research and Optimization Tools

Below, are my top two recommendations when it comes to research and optimization tools.

Personally, I use both of these tools because each has slightly different features. Having said that, it is definitely not necessary to use both. If I had to choose, then I’d go with VidIQ, but that’s just me.

VidIQ

VidIQ is an excellent tool to help you grow your faceless YouTube channel.

With keyword research, SEO optimisation, and competitor analysis features, VidIQ helps you rank higher in search results and attract more viewers to your faceless content.

VidIQ is by far the best keyword research tool for YouTube I have ever come across.

VidIQ also helps you to optimize your videos during the upload process. It has built-in AI features to create your video descriptions for you, give you targeted video tags, and even help you to design the best thumbnail that will stand out against the competition.

Tube Buddy

TubeBuddy is another powerful YouTube management tool that offers a range of features, including keyword research, thumbnail generation, and A/B testing. It assists you in optimising your videos and improving your channel’s overall performance.

While TubeBuddy can also help you with keyword research, and also assist in the optimisation process of your videos to improve YouTube SEO, personally, I think VidIQ does a slightly better job in this area.

One way that TubeBuddy does stand out (and is worth the price of this tool alone, IMO) is in A/B testing.

TubeBuddy’s A/B testing feature is awesome, and it can help you to find the absolute best thumbnails for your videos to improve your click-through rate.

Script Writing Tools

Script writing tools for faceless videos

Once you have your keyword list, video ideas and titles carved out, you’ll need to put a script together.

Here are my top recommendations for helping you create awesome scripts quickly.

Jasper.ai

Jasper.ai is an AI-driven content creation tool that can help you to quickly produce video scripts for your faceless YouTube channel.

With advanced text generation capabilities, Jasper.ai can save you time and improve the quality of your content. Not only will Jasper create a video outline for you on the fly, but it will even write your entire video script for you.

Jasper.ai probably has the highest quality output in terms of AI content generation. It’s fast, powerful, and pretty accurate.

Frase.io

Frase.io is an AI content research tool that allows you to discover relevant topics, questions, and keywords related to your niche. Not only can this tool help you with research and video title ideas, but it can also write your entire scripts for you.

What Frase.io has over Jasper.ai is its research and idea generation capabilities. However, while Frase will also write your entire scripts for you, Jasper will do a better job in terms of content quality in most cases.

ChatGPT

Unless you’ve been living deep in the heart of the Amazon rainforest for the last 6 months, then, by now, you’ve probably heard of ChatGPT.

ChatGPT is a state-of-the-art AI conversational model that creates human-like text.

When it comes to faceless videos, ChatGPT can be used as both a research and a writing tool. ChatGPT can help you come up with all kinds of video ideas, give you outlines, and even help you write your video scripts.

If you’re on a tight budget, then you can certainly use the free version of ChatGPT. However, if you’ve got some money to play with and you want to speed up the video production process, then I recommend using one of the alternative tools above.

Video Editing Tools

A man editing videos

Now, let’s take a look at the best video editing tools. You’ll only need to use one of these tools. They’re all good, so just choose the one that’s best suited to you.

Flikki

Flikki is an AI-powered video editing tool that streamlines the editing process. It offers intelligent selection, cutting, and transitions which help you create professional-looking videos for your faceless YouTube channel faster.

With Flkki, you can easily create your videos and pull in stock images and b-roll footage from Flikki’s stock. In case you’re wondering what b-roll is, it’s footage that supplements your main video clips.

And, if you don’t like the idea of using your own voice on camera, then Flikki also has a built-in AI voiceover tool you can use with a variety of different sounding voices.

In-Video

In-Video is a video creation platform offering templates, stock footage, and royalty-free music. This tool is ideal for faceless YouTube creators, as it makes it easy to create visually appealing, engaging, and professional-looking videos without showing your face.

It’s similar to Flikki, except it doesn’t yet have as many AI features. That being said, In-Video is a great option and a go-to tool for many faceless YouTubers.

In-Video is super-quick to create videos using In-Video, and it even has a tool to write your scripts for you. If you’re using this feature, then In-Video can save you money on paying for a seperete tool to write your scripts for you.

In-Video also has a free plan, so you can even get started with this tool and make some videos for free.

Camtasia

Camtasia is a feature-rich screen recording and video editing software, perfect for faceless YouTube channel creators. With a user-friendly interface and powerful editing tools, Camtasia allows you to produce high-quality video tutorials,  presentations, and lots of other video projects.

Camtasia is available for both Mac and Windows. Camtasia is the video editor I’m currently using. It’s a great tool but be warned, there is a bit of s learning curve with it. That being said, there are a ton of Camtasia tutorials on YouTube so it’s easy to find the tips and tricks you need when you need them.

Screenflow

Screenflow is a top-notch video editing and screen recording software for Mac users. It’s a great choice for faceless YouTube channels, allowing you to create video content by capturing your screen or using pre-made templates and animations.

If you’re on a Mac, then Screenflow may be a better option for you over Camtasia.

Sound – Microphones

Lady using a wireless microphone to film

Sound is a super-important consideration when it comes to YouTube videos, perhaps even more important than visual. That being said, you wanna make sure you get a decent mic so your audio is crisp, clean, and clear.

Here are my top 2 recommendations when it comes to choosing a mic.

Rode Wireless Go 2

The Rode Wireless Go 2 is a perfect choice for your faceless YouTube channel. In fact, many big YouTubers are using this mic and they swear by it.

This compact wireless microphone system offers crystal-clear audio quality and impressive versatility. The dual-channel receiver enables you to connect two transmitters for recording interviews or capturing audio from multiple sources.

Its built-in microphone allows you to start recording straight away or connect an external lavalier microphone for enhanced audio quality. With a range of up to 656 feet (200 meters) and a battery life of up to seven hours, you won’t have to worry about being limited by distance or time while creating your content.

Blue Yeti

The Blue Yeti is another excellent microphone option for your faceless channel. This USB microphone is known for its simple plug-and-play operation and remarkable sound quality.

With multiple recording patterns, you can tailor the audio recording to suit your specific needs, whether it’s recording voiceovers, interviews, or capturing ambient sound.

The Yeti also boasts a built-in headphone output for real-time monitoring, as well as an on-mic level display and gain knob for easy control over your audio levels. Despite being slightly cumbersome, the Blue Yeti’s impressive sound quality and versatile features make it an ideal choice for your YouTube channel.

Investing in one of these microphones will significantly enhance the audio quality of your faceless YouTube channel, ensuring your viewers have a top-notch experience when tuning into your content.

Background Music

Epidemic sound and YouTube audio library for background music

Background music is an important part of a successful video on YouTube – face, or no face.

Epidemic Sound

Epidemic Sound is a treasure trove for content creators seeking high-quality, royalty-free music for their YouTube channels.

With a vast library of over 30,000 tracks and 60,000 sound effects, it offers an eclectic mix of genres to suit every mood and theme. The platform is lauded for its original and authentic music, produced by world-class creators.

But what sets Epidemic Sound apart is not just its impressive music library. The platform is renowned for its excellent customer service and reasonable pricing plans, making it a go-to resource for many YouTubers.

So, if you’re on the hunt for the perfect background score for your YouTube channel, Epidemic Sound might just be the melody to your rhythm.

YouTube Music Library

YouTube also have it’s own copyright-free music and sound effects library for content creators that you can use absolutely free.

While the music tracks are no way as good as what you’ll find on epidemicsound.com, there are still some hidden gems here. If you’re on a tight budget, then just stick with the YouTube Music Library until your channel starts making some money.

Audio Editing Tools

Audio editing

If you need to edit your audio, then these are the tools I recommend.

Audacity

Audacity is a free, open-source audio editing software that’s essential for faceless YouTube creators. With its comprehensive suite of audio editing tools, you can record, edit, and improve your voiceover quality.

It’s a great tool that is 100%, but there it comes with a bit of learning curve. There are many tutorials on YouTube, so don’t sweat it too much though.

RX Standard by iZotope

RX 10 Standard by iZotope is a comprehensive toolkit designed for audio cleanup in music and post-production, making it an invaluable tool for YouTube content creators. It offers a suite of features that can automatically remove noise using the intelligent Repair Assistant plug-in, and even rebalance stereo mixes with Music Rebalance.

This combination of first aid and creative tools provides a robust solution for enhancing the audio quality of your YouTube videos.

This is an awesome tool that I am personally using for my YouTube channel. However, it’s quite expensive, so if you don’t have budget for it, then stick with Audacity. However, if you want the best sound possible, then it’s worth investing in RX 10 Standard.

AI Voiceover Tools

Get Speechelo for your YouTube voiceovers

Some people hate the idea of their voice being used on video, if that’s you, then you can use an AI voiceover instead.

However, please bear in mind that YouTube is not a big fan of AI voiceovers. While they won’t likely take your videos or channel down for using it, it’ll be harder for you to get your channel accepted into the YouTube partner program if you’re using an AI voice.

Murf.ai

Murf.ai is by far one of the most realistic sounding AI voice over tools I have come across.

Since I’ve started using Murf.ai, I have been really impressed with the extensive range of diverse voices. Most of the voices sound super-real straight out of the box. however, with a few simple tweaks, you can even make the Murf voices sound more realistic and unique.

With Murf.ai you can create voice overs in all different kinds of accents and languages. And, Murf even has a built in video editor so you can create full length videos and presentations from inside your Murf dashboard.

If you want to see Murf.ai in action, then take a look at the in-depth Murf.ai review and demo video I created, below.

Video Thumbnail Design Tools

Video Thumbnail designed with Canva

The thumbnail is a really important part of your video. Crappy thumbnail = low click-through rate, so make sure you put some time into creating good ones.

Here’s my go-to tool for creating eye-catching thumbnails.

Canva

Canva is a user-friendly graphic design platform that helps you create customisable video thumbnails, channel art, and social media posts.

Its drag-and-drop interface and plethora of templates make it easy to produce professional-looking graphics for your faceless YouTube channel.

Canva has a free plan so it’s easy for anyone to get started creating great-looking thumbs with this tool.
