There’s no doubt about it, online businesses need an optimized sales funnel if they are going to survive and thrive in today’s markets.
Businesses are literally losing money every day without one.
However, there’s so much choice when it comes to choosing a funnel builder.
Since most of them have a few unique features and are better suited to certain types of businesses, it can be difficult to know which one is best for you.
Here I break down the features of this new WordPress funnel builder and explain exactly what you get when you buy CartFlows.
In this article, I will also tell you who this WordPress funnel builder plugin is good for and who might be better off using an alternative.
If you’re in a hurry and you want to get straight to it then you can check out the CartFlows cost and features here.
CartFlows Key Points
- What it does: Easily build WordPress-compatible sales funnels
- Price: Free – $239 per month
- Verdict: Easy to use. The best funnel builder for WordPress we have seen
What Is CartFlows?
CartFlows is basically a sales funnel plugin for WordPress.
This continually evolving plugin allows you to create optimized funnels to increase your conversions and make more money in your business.
It was created by hardcore WordPress users, Adam Preiser (WP Crafter) and Sujay Pawer (Brainstorm Force), out of frustration at the limitations of the sales and checkout process of WooCommerce.
By using this new funnel builder plugin, website owners can now create effective funnels with up-sell, down-sell, and OTO pages and take complete control of the look and functioning of the whole checkout process.
With over 10,000 active CartFlows users, this funnel builder plugin is quickly growing in popularity.
CartFlows Pros & Cons
- Integrates with WordPress
- Huge range of WP plugins available
- Integrates with WooCommerce
- Is affordable
- Is compatible with WordPress page builders
- Can build an unlimited number of funnels
- Also works like a shopping cart solution
- Has an abandoned cart feature
- Easy to use
- Membership funnels need an additional WP plugin
- No A/B split testing (at present)
- Lack of instruction videos
What Kind Of Funnels Can You Build With The CartFlows Plugin?
CartFlows is a dynamic plugin and you can use it to create just about any type of funnel you want. However, for some funnels, you will also need to use additional 3rd party plugins.
It is, of course, a good benefit that CartFlows can integrate with other WordPress plugins. However, for me, the fact that you have to use additional plugins to build some types (not all) of funnels is negative, in my opinion.
Personally, I would prefer all the core functionality to be under one roof since you will not need to take the extra time to learn how to use new plugins as well as go through the learning curve with CartFlows.
Having said that, the plugin is still relatively new. Adam and Sujay are planning to record more “how-to” videos over time, so this should largely solve the issue.
Here’s a list of some of the more popular funnels people are building with this plugin:
- Lead funnels
- Product launch funnels
- Membership funnels
- Free quote funnels
- Consulting funnels
- Webinar funnels
- Demo funnels
- Application funnels
This is, by no means an exhaustive list. As I said earlier, you can pretty much build any type of funnel using this plugin.
CartFlows Plugin Features – What You Can Do With This Funnel Builder
Having looked at CartFlows, it is actually a decent competitor to leading funnel builder brands like ClickFunnels and InfusionSoft.
I particularly like that there is a free version of the plugin, however, it does, of course, have limited functionality.
On the other hand, with the pro version, you get a whole range of features.
Here are the main features that you can use:
Use Customizable Templates
There are customizable templates available with both the free and Pro version. However, at the moment they are fairly limited.
You get access to 4 free templates straight out of the box. However, there are also an additional 6 premium templates if the free ones don’t quite do it for you.
Although this may seem very limited in comparison to an alternative funnel builder like ClickFunnels, you can do a lot with these templates since they are fully customizable.
Upsell and Downsell Pages
Using an upsell and a down-sell in your funnel sequence can greatly increase the amount of money you can earn from each customer.
I particularly like the free templates feature as this is a big time-saver when it comes to building your funnel.
You can simply select a template, insert it into the correct place in your funnel, and then customize it how you want.
With CartFlows Pro, all the pages are fully customizable.
Use Order Bumps
Another great feature of any funnel builder worth its salt is the ability to use order bumps on your checkout pages.
Order bumps are great as they can significantly increase the cart value of your customers.
You can use this to give your customers the option to buy an additional related product at a discount, provide the option to buy additional units of a product, offer a warranty, and so forth.
Customizable Checkout
If you’ve been using WooCommerce then I’m sure you’ve also felt frustrated at the lack of customization you get on the checkout page.
Fortunately, CartFlows allows you to customize all the checkout fields and take full control of the sales process.
Abandon Cart Feature
This Pro feature is essential whenever you’re selling something online.
On average, around 65% of people abandon an online shopping cart before they pay for the goods. This is a huge waste!
With CartFlows Pro, once they’ve passed the step of entering their email address, if they do abandon the cart then the plugin will follow up with them periodically on your behalf and encourage them to complete their purchase.
Can Use With Popular Page Builders
If you’re using a WordPress page builder like Elementor, Divi, or Thrive Architect then CartFlows will work for you without a hitch.
The plan is to eventually make it compatible with all WordPress page builders. While it does now work with most of them, I’m not sure if it functions with all of them.
If you want to find out if it will work with your specific page builder then you can contact CartFlows support here.
Use Custom Scripts
If you want to get more functionality then you can use the custom script option.
By simply pasting in your custom code you can get CartFlows to do a whole range of extra things for you.
Who Is CartFlows Great For?
If you’re a WordPress user then CartFlows is a good option for you since it will integrate nicely with the rest of your business.
Being a WordPress user will mean that you will likely find CartFlows very easy to use.
It’s also great for people who are on a budget as they can start off on the free plan.
However, having said that, the Pro account is also very reasonably priced compared to its competitors.
So, if you have a WordPress website and you want to collect more leads, sell digital or physical products, promote a webinar, sell a course, sell services or even just provide free quotes to your website visitors then CartFlows Pro will be a great option for you.
Who Is CartFlows Not Good For?
If you do not use WordPress and you have no intention of building a WordPress website then CartFlows is not for you.
However, don’t worry, there are many other solutions on the market that may fit your needs perfectly.
CartFlows – What I Like About It
Here are the things I really like about this sales funnel WordPress plugin:
Integrates With WordPress
It integrates directly with WordPress and is, therefore, a great solution for anyone who has built their business around a WordPress website.
Since around 35% of websites are now built on WordPress, this is a great advantage for those businesses. However, not so much for businesses that operate from different platforms.
Integrates With All WordPress Plugins
Another advantage over some of the competitors like ClickFunnels or Kartra, for example, is that it integrates with other WordPress plugins.
This dynamic feature allows you to expand the functionality of CartFlows.
Integrates With WooCommerce
It also integrates directly with the popular WooCommerce plugin for WordPress.
So, if you’re running an eCommerce store on WordPress and you need a funnel then CartFlows is also a great choice for you.
Supports Upsells, Downsells
If you are using the CartFlows Pro plan then you will also be able to build funnels with upsells and down-sells.
This feature can increase your revenue considerably as it gives your customers the chance to buy more from you in a single transaction.
However, bear in mind that this feature is only available on the Pro account.
Integrates With Facebook Tracking Pixel
Retargeting is a highly effective online marketing strategy. Fortunately, the plugin also allows you to integrate with the Facebook tracking pixel for retargeting.
Abandoned Cart Feature
Another feature that will help you to increase your revenue is the abandoned cart feature.
Shockingly, the average cart abandonment rate is 67.57%. That’s a lot of money left on the table!
The abandoned cart feature works by following up with your customers through email who choose to abandon their cart before they make their purchase.
This is an important feature for any business that is selling physical, digital, or service-based products online.
Easy To Use
If you’re familiar with WordPress at all then you’ll likely find CartFlows easy to use.
They also have a good amount of setup and training videos to show you how to get set up.
CartFlows – What I Don’t Like
Of course, like any platform, there are always some downsides too. Here’s what I don’t like so much about CartFlows.
Membership Areas Need An Additional WordPress Plugin Or External Solution
If you want to build a members area for your business then you will need to use a separate WordPress plugin or an external solution like Teachable or Kajabi.
Fortunately, it is more than possible to use CartFlows to create a membership funnel with one of these options, but for me, this is a minus point.
The reason I see this as a negative is that:
- You need to pay for an additional software solution
- You may also need to go through another learning curve with the software solution you choose
While other CartFlows alternatives like ClickFunnels and Kartra may be more expensive, they also provide you with the member’s area feature already included.
Another option for WordPress users would be to use ThriveApprentice, which is a plugin that comes with a ThriveThemes subscription.
ThriveThemes is priced within the same ballpark as CartFlows and also provides additional premium plugins with your membership, including their membership area solution, ThriveApprentice.
Cannot Share Funnels With Other Users
Being able to clone a funnel and share it with another user is a big advantage in my opinion.
Not only does it speed up the entire funnel building process, but you can also create funnels for your clients within your account and then transfer them upon sale.
So far, the only platforms I have come across that offer this option is ClickFunnels and Kartra.
However, if you don’t need this function in your business then it is not a problem for you.
CartFlows Pricing
There are two different plans to choose from, the free plan and CartFlows Pro. Here are the details of the two plans.
CartFlows Free
CartFlows offers free as well as a paid plan.
Of course, on the free plan, you will be limited in what you can do with it. However, there is actually a decent amount of functionality in this plan.
Here’s what you get access to on the free plan:
- Access to 4 funnel page templates
- Access to checkout pages
- Access to thank you pages
So, if you only need a simple funnel then the free plan might work for you.
Offering the free plan is a smart move since it allows you to check out the features it offers and see for yourself just how easy it is to use.
Once you see what it can do for you then you may be tempted to upgrade to Pro so you can earn even more money from your site visitors.
CartFlows Pro (Pay Monthly – $299 $239)
The CartFlows Pro plan is very competitively priced at $239 per year.
On the CartFlows Pro plan, you get access to all the bells and whistles.
Here’s what you can do with the Pro plan:
- Access to premium-level templates
- Use an unlimited number of funnels
- Use conversion-focused checkout pages
- Edit your checkout pages
- Provide visitors with special offers
- Use order bumps
- Up-sell and down-sell features
- Abandoned cart technology
- Full user support
- Access to the CartFlows community
- How-to video guides
Comparing the two plans, you can see that you do, in fact, get a lot for your money when you choose to buy CartFlows Pro.
I particularly like the up-sell, down-sell, and order bump features, as well as the conversion-focused checkout pages as these features, can increase your revenue dramatically.
Being able to edit your checkout pages is also an important feature to have, in my opinion.
CartFlows Pro (Lifetime License – $999)
I don’t know about you, but I always try to buy software on a lifetime deal if they have one available. Personally, I prefer to keep the monthly recurring payments down to a minimum!
Fortunately, CartFlows doe have a lifetime license!
So, if you’ve taken this WordPress funnel builder for a test drive and you like it, then you can get the CartFlows lifetime deal for a one-time payment of $999.
This may be a lot of money upfront for most people, but if you’re planning to run your business for the long haul, then this CartFlows lifetime deal will save you a lot of money.
CartFlows FAQ’s
Here ar ethe most frequently asked questions about the CartFlows funnel builder for WordPress:
Who Is Behind CartFlows?
CartFlows was founded by Adam Preiser of WP Crafter and co-founded by Sujay Pawer of Brainstorm Force. He’s also the guy who created the famous Astra theme for WordPress.
They created it to provide an integrative funnel solution for WordPress users.
Personally, I have been a follower of the WP Crafter YouTube Channel for a few years now since Adam really knows his stuff. For me, this gives CartFlows much more credibility as a good integrative funnel solution for WordPress.
Can I use CartFlows With Shopify?
As far as I am aware, it does not integrate with other platforms like Shopify, only WordPress, and WooCommerce.
Which Payment Gateways Are Compatible With CartFlows?
CartFlows can integrate with the most popular payment gateways including PayPal, Stripe, Square, Amazon Pay, Auth.net, and any other payment gateway that is compatible with WooCommerce.
CartFlows Review – My Final Thoughts
If you’re a WordPress user in need of a sales funnel then CartFlows is definitely a good choice for you.
This new funnel builder plugin for WordPress is very affordable and will enable you to build pretty much any kind of funnel you might need.
CartFlows comes with a few customizable templates you can use to speed up the build process.
The plugin is easy to use, however, if you’re not that familiar with WordPress then you may have a bit of a learning curve ahead of you. That being said, knowing how to create high converting funnels is a very important skill, so it is worth taking a bit of time to get this skill down.
If you’re not quite sure yet if CartFlows is for you then you can also take it for a test drive with the free plugin.
