What is ChatGPT?
ChatGPT is an AI language model that has been trained on a massive amount of text data, allowing it to understand and generate human-like language. It can be used for all kinds of things, not just business-related, but for personal tasks too.
However, it’s often used for tasks like writing articles, generating ideas, and even answering complex questions.
But how can ChatGPT be used to make money?
Well, one way is through affiliate marketing. Affiliate marketing involves promoting other people’s products and earning a commission on each sale you generate through your unique affiliate link.
With ChatGPT, you can create compelling and informative content that promotes the product you’re affiliated with.
For example, if you’re in the health and beauty niche and you’re promoting a new skincare product, then check this out. You can use ChatGPT to write an in-depth review of the product that highlights its benefits and features, and then use your affiliate link to drive traffic to the product page.
Another way to use ChatGPT for affiliate marketing is to generate ideas for content. For example, you can use ChatGPT to come up with new blog post ideas or social media captions that promote the product you’re affiliated with.
Now, let’s get into the nuts and bolts of using your new AI virtual assistant to make you some moolah with affiliate marketing!
Creating a ChatGPT Account
If you haven’t yet got a ChatGPT account, then you might just be the last person on the planet to sign up. Don’t worry, you can sign up for free here.
It pretty simple to sign up, and it won’t cost you anything (unless you want to use ChatGPT Pro). I made a short video showing you step-by-step how to sign up in less than 3 minutes. You can watch the video below.
Now you have your ChatGPT account fired up and ready to go, it’s time to get into how to use ChatGPT for affiliate marketing.
Onwards to step one…
Choose a Niche For Affiliate Marketing
So, the first thing you’re gonna need to do before you can even think about running affiliate marketing campaigns is to choose a niche.
Fortunately, ChatGPT can help you do this in a jiffy.
You see, ChatGPT is like a genie in a bottle, but instead of three wishes, it grants you endless ideas for profitable niches, if you ask it. All you have to do is ask it a question, and it will generate a list of ideas for you to explore.
For example, you could ask ChatGPT something like “What are some profitable niches in the health and wellness industry?” and it will give you a range of ideas, such as weight loss, skin care, or meditation.
You can then ask ChatGPT to help you niche down to find a sub-niche within one of these broader niches.
Now, here’s where things really start to get interesting. ChatGPT can even help you research and validate your chosen niche.
Yep.
It can search through vast amounts of data and provide you with insights into the level of competition, potential earnings, and audience demographics for a particular niche.
Here are some ChatGPT prompts you can use to help you to find your perfect niche:
- “What are some profitable niches in [insert industry] for affiliate marketing?”
- “Can you suggest some underserved niches that have the potential for affiliate marketing?”
- “What are some high-paying affiliate programs in [insert industry/niche]?”
- “Can you analyze the competition and potential earnings for [insert niche] in affiliate marketing?”
- “What are some emerging trends in [insert industry/niche] that have the potential for affiliate marketing?”
Finding a Profitable Affiliate Program
Now you’ve got your niche sorted, you’re gonna want to find good affiliate programs to promote.
ChatGPT can help you out with this too.
The AI-powered language model can help you to swiftly find a profitable affiliate program for any given niche.
Here are some example prompts to get ChatGPT to do the bizo for you:
- “What are some of the highest paying affiliate programs in the [insert niche] industry?”
- “What are some of the most popular affiliate programs for [insert niche] products?”
- “Can you recommend some up-and-coming affiliate programs in [insert niche]?”
ChatGPT can work its magic and conjure up a plethora of insights on all sorts of affiliate programs.
Commission rates? Check. Conversion rates? Check. Up-and-coming programs? Check, check, and check.
But, as with any genie in a bottle, you gotta be careful what you wish for.
ChatGPT’s responses are generated based on the data it has been trained on, so they may not always be 100% accurate or up-to-date.
It’s like taking advice from your great-aunt Mabel – she means well and has accumulated a wealth of information from all her years on the planet, but sometimes she’s a little out of touch.
So, don’t forget to do your own research and use ChatGPT’s insights as a starting point. After all, you don’t want to end up promoting a product that’s so last year.
In reality, that goes with anything you plan to use ChatGPT (or any other artificial intelligence tool) for. Don’t rely on it 100% to do all the work for you. If you do that then you’ll come a cropper before long.
Instead, use ChatGPT to give you insights, ideas, and get you started, and of course, improve upon your own work.
Now you have your niche carved out, and you’ve selected a few hot products to promote, you need a way to collect leads.
Create a Landing Page or Affiliate Funnel
Before we get to driving traffic for affiliate marketing, you’re gonna want to set up a landing page, or affiliate funnel.
While you can, of course, run traffic directly to affiliate links, you’re gonna be leaving a lot of money on the table if you only do that.
So, the (better) alternative is to set up a simple landing page (a.k.a squeeze page), or an affiliate bridge page funnel to help you capture leads and make more sales.
I won’t go into too much detail on that in this article, but if you want a step-by-step guide on exactly how to do this, then follow my instructions in the video below.
Now you’ve chosen your niche, you’ve got a s*it -hot affiliate product to promote, and you have a bad-arse landing page or funnel set up, it’s time to drive some traffic!
Here are a few ways you can do that with the help of ChatGPT.
How To Use ChatGPT For Affiliate Marketing And Generate Traffic
Now we’ve gone through the setup process, here are 3 simple ways you can start driving traffic for affiliate marketing.
Chat GPT for Blog Writing
Since ChatGPT is a language model, it’s fair to say that it’s pretty awesome at writing content. So, it’ll likely come as no surprise that ChatGPT can help you to up your blogging game, or get started as a blogger if you’re new to affiliate marketing.
Firstly, ChatGPT can help by assisting with keyword research. You can start by telling ChatGPT what your niche is and it can generate a list of relevant keywords that you can use in your blog posts to attract more visitors.
Prompts like:
“Please give me a keyword list for the [personal finance] niche”
“Please give me a list of profitable, long-tail keywords in the [weighted blanket niche] that have low competition and are easy to rank on page one of Google for a new website”
Notice that I start my prompt with, ‘please’?
That’s so the robots will go easy on me when they eventually take over the earth and enslave all of us, humans! It’s also coz I’m English, and saying ‘please’ is hammered into us when we’re kids.
I digress…
Anyway, once you’ve got a keyword list to work with, ChatGPT can then help you to craft catchy blog post titles.
(Side note: If you’ve got the budget, then I recommend checking your keyword list in a tool like Ahrefs, or SEMRush. If not, then at least this will give you something to go on to get started. ChatGPT can sometimes also come up with keywords that the paid tools don’t spit out).
Next, the article outlines. ChatGPT’s got your back on this too. The AI tool is pretty smart and can help you write human-like text that will make your readers want to continue reading.
Plus, it can assist with content creation, providing you with ideas for subheadings, topic sentences, and even full paragraphs. Sure, you’ll have to do a bit of editing, but it’s important to put your own spin on the content and offer up your own insights, otherwise why the hell would people have an interest in reading your content?
Then, if you want your articles to be found in search engines like Google and Bing, then ChatGPT can also provide you with tips and tricks to improve your SEO game.
For starters, it can help you to incorporate your target keywords in strategic places throughout your blog post. But more interestingly, ChatGPT can also help you to evaluate your article and tell you where it needs improving to appease Google’s quality content and product review guidelines.
Here’s a great video below from SEO expert, Matt Diggity to show you exactly how you can do that.
Google’s Position On Ai-Generated Content
So, what’s Google’s position on using AI-generated content for blog posts?
They’re cool with it!
Well, not exactly, but mostly.
Google acknowledges that AI is a helpful tool for productivity, and they’re not gonna be able to stop people from using it. So, they’ve basically said that they’re okay with blog posts containing AI content as long as the article still answers the search query, offers value to the reader, is well-written, well-researched, and basically adds value.
Here’s Google’s official guidelines about AI-generated text in blog posts.
It’s also wise to check your content in Copyscape for plagiarism, Grammarly for grammatical errors, and Originality.ai for an AI content score before publishing.
Wait, if Google’s okay with AI content, then why do I need to check it in Originality.ai?
Just in case Google changes its mind about this later. Personally, I don’t think they’ll do that, but I’m not much of an SEO prophet so best to err on the side of caution.
And, although Google may still rank AI content, they may favor content that hasn’t been written by AI, or as less AI-generated text. So, Use Originality.ai and try to get the AI content vs human content ratio to a more reasonable balance.
ChatGPT for a Faceless YouTube Channel
If blogging ain’t your thing, then ChatGPT can help you make money with affiliate marketing on YouTube.
Don’t want your face on camera?
No worries, you can crush it as an affiliate with a faceless YouTube channel, if you know what you’re doing.
Don’t know what you’re doing?
No worries, here’s a free training on how to build a faceless YouTube channel and make bank to get you started.
When it comes to making a faceless YouTube channel, there are basically 6 parts to the process:
- Finding keyword ideas
- Creating YouTube video titles
- Writing the script
- Recording a voiceover
- Editing the video
- Optimizing and uploading your video to YouTube
It’s a pretty simple process that you can easily outsource for cheap once you’ve in your flow and making money with this method.
If you want to learn exactly how you can get this form of passive income working for you, then this is the place to start. This is the same training I followed when I started my YouTube channel, and I haven’t looked back. It can help you build either a faceless YouTube channel, or a personal brand channel, or both.
Anyway, ChatGPT can assist you with video ideas, scripts, and even the editing. It doesn’t stop there because it can even help you to optimize your videos for search engines, increasing the chances that people will find your videos, and click your affiliate links.
If you’re just getting started, then you’ll want to keep your costs low and your productivity high. While ChatGPT will help you do both of those things, so will this free video editing software tool.
And, once you’ve got some videos out and the comments coming in, ChatGPT can help you engage with your audience by suggesting great responses to make your viewers feel heard and understood.
ChatGPT and Quora
Making money with affiliate marketing and Quora is a simple process.
Basically, you need to first go to Quora.com, the popular question-and-answer site, create an account if you don’t have one, and then search for questions related to your niche.
Look for new questions or questions that don’t yet have many answers. That way, your question will appear close to the top, and have a higher chance of being read.
Then, all you need to do is to write a comprehensive and helpful answer to the question, and include you affiliate link, or a link to your landing page with a gentle call to action to get the reader to click your link.
Of course, ChatGPT can help you craft a killer response that not only answers the question but also smoothly includes your affiliate link.
It’s not yet clear what Quora’s stance is on AI-generated content, as they have not yet released an official statement on whether they’re cool with it or not.
So, just in case, first, throw your answer into an AI-content detection tool like Originality.ai before you go merrily pasting your answer on the Quora website. The last thing you want is to be kicked off of their platform for breaking their terms of service!
